Anxiously waiting for one here. I've been checking Macrumors forum many times daily, following RSS feeds of TUAW, Macrumors, Engadget and Appleinsider so I can get the rumours/news as soon as it hits. I'm currently using a 2009 Mac mini which I will keep for now.

Planning on getting the base 27" model, but will likely grab some 3rd party extra RAM, either an extra 4GB or maybe 8GB.

Specs wise, I'm not really expecting anything other than boosted gfx card, sandy bridge processors and thunderbolt port - but kind of hoping that all models will get 32GB SSD built-in for the OS.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Ready to buy a new top end 27" iMac as soon as they come out, the money is sitting there ready in the bank and it's very annoying waiting for the refresh

It's been keeping me up several nights constantly checking macrumors and similar sites and Apple just waiting for it to pop up on the screen "Introducing the new iMac."

I'm anxiously awaiting, but will not buy one this year.

I am curious to see where they are headed. Computer hardware should be progressing at exciting paces in the next 3 years; I'd like to see where it is heading now. Obviously there is Thunderbolt/LightPeak, but will they bring "retina displays" to the iMac this year? I can't wait to see more minimal computers, no mechanical stuff inside (except for fans), faster, more memory, etc.

My iMac purchase will be next year or the year after, depending on what is released.

Same here :)
I guess next week is decisive... We need to hold our patience one more week ;)

It is exciting, and I'd love to pick mine up on day 1. But, there are so many reasons to wait another month: free iPod touch (back to school special) and free OS upgrade (Lion will probably be announced mid-June?).

How far back did apple offer the discounted price when Leopard was announced? I feel confident that they will offer the same discount to recently purchased macs. Was it 14 days? 30 days?

I think it was 30 days for me.

I'm on holiday for a couple of weeks at the moment so the first thing I'll do when I get back to the design studio is to burn part of the £5k budget I've been given by my office manager to upgrade the equipment with one of these bad boys :D

Can't wait as I was about to hurl my G5 tower out of the window after seeing too many spinning beach balls trying to process Photoshop and InDesign files aswell as not being able to upgrade to Adobe CS5.

It's going to be my first Mac computer purchase and I can't wait! I'm going for the 27" but with the slim chance there's a 24" I might look at that depending on price (I'm a broke student... sorta haha).

Going i7 either way but stock RAM as I'll upgrade to 12GB or so myself cheaper. I'm hoping for maybe a stock 128GB or 256GB SSD instead of HDD as I really don't need much storage space... just space for all my programs. My whole media library is on a home server so I just want SSD for speed. (I have my windows machine on SSD and connected to the server and it works awesomely).

I have an iPhone 4 and iPod shuffle for the gym but I'm looking for a mobile computing companion as well for when I'm in class. I'm in debate between a MacBook air or iPad 2 but that's for another day.

I am also waiting for the refresh...this will be my first iMac. We have a 2010 Macbook now but it is nowhere near the power i need/want. I will be doing a lot of stuff in logic/garageband as far as recording music and production. I cannot wait! Still debating between 27 and 21 incher. I will wait to see the specs they have before I take the plunge. The wait is def. killing me..i go to sleep thinking about it and wake up doing the same. :)

Ah, Its getting to me. I keep checking back to MR all the time now. Im even posting on the forums which i hardly ever do o_O; But i really want a new computer. My MBP is pretty old these days and the screen is just...not doing too well.

But I'm wondering what we get come release day, I might not buy day one...but my friend wants to drive to the Apple store and pick the unit up, As it would be a fun little adventure. (its around a 2 hour trip to the closest store)
