I am also a Speech-Language Pathologist who travels with my iPad Pro daily with the Smart Keyboard case, I also have no desire to upgrade right away since they will not have a keyboard case at launch. This is essential for my work everyday to have the keyboard case.
They will actually have a regular Smart Keyboard folio at launch for the new iPad Pro available.

don't feel the new to upgrade since the 2018 model is still so good today. I'll probably check out the new Magic Keyboard when it becomes available though.

It's a pass from me. 2018 11" Pro working great for me and this new model seems a relatively minor upgrade. The biggest thing for me is the jump in RAM but I'll hold off until next time.

Not seeing enough to make me upgrade from the 2018 11" iPad. But I may add the new keyboard with trackpad. It look like it cures the issues I have with the current folio keyboard, namely no backlight or trackpad. But at near $300 I will wait for the reviews before buying.

Was seriously thinking about pulling the trigger yesterday, but held off.

Current 11” LTE iPad Pro has plenty of storage (256GB) for me, I’ll even step down to 128GB next time. There is no situation where it feels slow, or I notice any issues with 4GB vs. 6GB of RAM.

I’ll definitely get the new Smart Keyboard, however. I prefer to use my Pencil to select/scroll on my iPad vs. my finger. So a trackpad will give my current 11” even more functionality.

If they would have had the new keyboard available yesterday, and maybe had a “bundle” price on a 2020 model, I probably could have convinced myself to do it :)

Also note that with an external mouse you can assign as many buttons as the mouse supports. On the logitech mx anywhere 2 mouse there are 5 primary buttons and a scroll wheel that supports SIDE buttons left/right. The scroll wheel side buttons do not register on the ipad, however.

There is a long list of things to assign as well including siri shortcuts. Overall it makes using the mouse much more practical than before 13.4.

2018 iPad Pro 12.9" owner here...I'm not seeing any good reasons to upgrade at this time, so I'll pass.

This was already an option on earlier iOS 13 releases.

So one voice and the community here is outrightly denouncing the arrival of the 2020 iPad Pro !! 😜

Not quite denouncing.

For someone who doesn't already own the 2018 iPad Pro, this is an okay refresh at same price or lower. Particularly so if iPads are always MSRP and don't tend to go on sale in your region.

It's a very minor refresh, though (similar to 2018 iPad 9.7 to 2019 iPad 10.2).

I dont think anyone is saying that its bad. But when you run it through the “Should I Upgrade” checklist then it does seem like an upgrade without an audience.

Does my iPad feel slow?

Do I use AR?

Do I need a wide lens iPad camera?

Do I have a WiFi6 router?

Do I even know how much RAM I have?

Again, its not bad. But since we know what feature are missing then its pretty clear that this is a placeholder for the “real” upgrade next year.

As far as the last thing on your checklist goes we all know that the 2018 iPad Pro has 4GB of RAM ! :p

Yay an ultrawide camera and a lidar sensor. Just what every iPad user has been clamoring for...

I am but I want to switch to 12.9. If I already had the 12.9 I probably would not.

I made up my mind a few of years ago that I will not upgrade minor refreshes of Apple products if I own the original. For example, the 2018 iPad 11 and 12.9 were major upgrades due to redesigns, magnetic apple pencil, etc. That for me was worth upgrading. This year's upgrades are minor in that the design and build are the same, just minor spec bumps. Not worth it to me. I've had too many experiences where I make the minor upgrade and regret it a year or less later when Apple decides to do a refresh/redesign. Now that new MacBook Air definitely has me paying attention. I'm about ready to upgrade my 2017 13" MBP NTB. Trying to decide on the New Air or wait on the rumored 14" MBP

The original iPad Pro was awesome, particularly when we got pencil and keyboard support.
The 10.5 was a huge update compared to that original 9.7 and was an easy no brainer.
The 11 Inch was another no brainer with the hardware and screen improvements, and the Apple Pencil 2 with on device charging.

This is not as much as a no brainer. I have the TB model, so 6GB RAM is good there. I was really hoping for the ability to charge the pencil at the top of the screen in portrait mode, but that remains the same spot. The new Magic Keyboard is compelling, but it does add a little extra bulk to the side, and I could also use it on my 2018.
The extra speed to the graphics and processor is nice, but I want to get an idea of benchmarks to see what the actual percentage of speed bump that would produce. For my uses right now, those speed bumps wouldn't be as big a factor pending what they do on the next iPadOS update. If they increase multitasking abilities and add Final Cut Pro X, that might be enough to push me over to purchase.
