I use an external keyboard and mouse when using the laptop on the desk, and then the trackpad when i'm using it in bed.

I actually don't mind the trackpad at all, I find it one of the best I've used.

At the desk, wireless keyboard (need the 10 key for grades) and a trackman trackball. Trackpad everywhere else.

If I'm at my desk, I use a wireless Mighty Mouse 99% of the time. Trackpads don't work well with Photoshop ;-)

Use high performance/high resolution mouse all the time, trackpad can't compare. Ever try doing fine adjustments in PS and you'll curse a trackpad if you are used to using a mouse. Mouse is just much faster/easier to manipulate with precision when speed if of the essence.

I'd bet most people using a trackpad, would use a mouse at a desk, if they used a mouse for a month, and then tried to go back to using a trackpad. Trackpads are fine when you can't place a mouse on a flat surface with enough area (like on an airplane flight).

I don't think I've ever used a mouse with a laptop. If I wanted to use a mouse, I'd have bought a desktop :^)

Mouse 95% of the time
Trackpad 5% only when I need it.

My MBP is only way from my desk maybe 4 hours of the week. Thats when I use the Trackpad. Otherwise, its on the desk with the mouse <3

I use a mouse mainly because it's 100x more efficient and fast, although I love mac trackpads too. Another reason I use the mouse is because I don't want to be too close to the computer when I'm using it at home, to give my eyes a rest. I couple a mouse with an external keyboard.

I've mastered the trackpad to play world of warcraft. I raid, pvp and did arena with the trackpad and one... friggin... button... I'd rather play with a 2 button mouse and a scroll wheel but, if I don't have one the trackpad is just fine.

For photoshop and such, I need my wacom tablet.

When I ordered the macbook, I ordered a mighty mouse as well, because I HATED every trackpad i had ever used... but now the mighty mouse is just collecting dust. You don't realize how convenient the 2-finger scroll is until you try to do it on someone's pc!

I'm a massive Quicksilver+Keyboard combo user, but I'm now used to the trackpad after quite a long while of missing proper mice...

Me

I have never used an external mouse, the trackpad works a treat for me. Two finger scrolling was a marvellous idea.

I just ordered my MacBook Pro, But I got an external mouse for it because I prefer them over the trackpad, plus I had to get an external mouse for school.

I prefer using an external mouse on all laptops though.
