I've not used the my PowerBook trackpad or keyboard for ages. I have a Logitech Wireless mouse with the receiver plugged into one the new Aluminium keyboard USB slots.

trackpad fo life.

haha ok really i started getting too lazy to unplug my mouse from my PC and plug into my powerbook. to my surprise, the trackpad has been more than sufficient. i dont play games on my pb, so i really dont need to do any fast mouse maneuvering

I always use the trackpad. I haven't used a mouse for years, other than the creaky one at the library when looking through their catalogue. And boy, is it slow!

im totally used to the trackpad, i didnt think i would have gotten used to the one button thing wen i started using macs 2 years ago.

but when i got this macbook in september the 2 finger scrolling is so easy and the 2 finger tap to open the right click options is so awesome!!

i was on my friends laptop the other day (acer with vista YUCK) and see trying to nagivage round a page and stuff was just terrible, and the sound of the cheap buttons was horrid!!

but it is a tad rubbish that ive been using the track pad, cos the palm rest area is now begining to get a wee bit diss coloured :(

I use my mouse plugged in 95% of the time.
The remaining time I use the trackpad.

I must admit from a Windows covert that the trackpad on Apple laptops is just awesome :)

I use my trackpad all the time because I carry my Macbook Pro around and I am reluctant to carry extra stuff with me outside other than the power adapters. Nevertheless, I felt the Macbook Pro's trackpad not as accurate as the old PowerBook G4. It is sometimes jump when I'm trying to aim on something specific. Does anyone feel the same with the MacBook Pro trackpads? I have the 17" and it's jumpy even if I disable the "Ignore accidental input" setting. But I'm sure the trackpad on the Powerbook G4 I have works better.

Trackpad

The apple trackpad is hands down the best I have ever used in a laptop, although a quality mouse has a natural advantage.

Trackpad almost all the time even in photoshop. Not to say the the wireless mighty mouse isnt pretty cool but I just dont use it that much.

I use an external mouse at home all the time and very rarely use an external keyboard to play Frets on Fire! :)

Google it. ;)

I too use the trackpad all the time as I like saving space on my small desk. My goal is to at some time or another get a full sized desk and the Apple wireless keyboard
and mouse as well as a larger monitor to use withy Mac at home.

Id say 90/10 in favour of mouse
However I do love the trackpad for just clicking something non-exact such as on the desktop so to make Finder the active application.
When Im at a desktop I miss that but using the MX Revolution is a pleasure so Im usually using the mouse :)

I'm getting a Black MacBook for Christmas, and I've been thinking lately..

When you're at home at a desk or other similar surface, do you guys use the trackpad or do you have an external mouse?

I know if I plan on taking my Macbook somewhere I'll be using the trackpad, but at home I'm not quite sure if I'll need one. It just seems to me that after awhile it would get pretty finicky... thoughts?

I've attempted to use an external mouse, but got tired of it. I love the trackpad. At home I like to carry my MB around so...

I really dig the track pad even for video editing. The only time I don't use it is for gaming.

i never ever ever ever ever use a mouse. why? whats the point?

i never have to lift my hands off of the keyboard b/c i use hotkey shortcuts and trackpad right click. why ever use a mouse?

I got a Black Macbook 2 week ago --I had a powerbook G4 from my old job and I like the key board of the my new macbook a lot more than the old G4 powerbook. I use the trackpad which need an adjustment to speed it up the way I like it.. I order my macbook with 2GB RAM --it was worth it.... I think the tough mouse (button) is a bit too stiff. I suspect it will loosen with wear --worked but is a little stiff..:apple:

I hated trackpads until I got my PB 2 years ago and feel in love with two-fingered scrolling (it's just so smooth). I'm still more proficient with a mouse but since I use it mainly on the coach/bed I don't have a chance to use a mouse.

i used to hate the track pad when i first got my macbook pro.
i didnt really bring it with me the first month or 2 i had it, so i always had a mouse plugged in.

but now that im in college, and i bring it eveywhere with me, i just love the trackpad.
it feels so wierd going back to the mouse, but im trying to get used to it again.

I love the trackpad. At work (iMac & wireless mouse and keyboard) I get frustrated with the lack of a trackpad. The new wireless keyboard, however, is terrific.

when i'm away from my desk, i always use the trackpad. i don't think i would have bought a mouse, but i got one for my birthday. now i must admit that it's quite handy because you are a little faster than with the trackpad.
