Trac-Stick Is GREAT for productivity when it comes to spreadsheets, surfing, as your hands never leave the keyboard. I'm sad to see it dying off. (hence making my own keyboard with one)

But mice have their place, too. I use both a lot. I am a whore.

scroll and roll

Ever since the ability to scroll and right click with the the track pad was born, I've been hooked. I find a mouse inconvenient because. It's like a ball and chain connected to my lap top....

That's so cool!

I like TrackPoints alot, but seldom get the chance to use them. They are great when it comes to precision stuff. Much better than a trackpad.

Did you get that keyboard off a ThinkPad? Any chance of you posting how to get such a thing working w/ a Mac?

After you get used to it, it becomes second nature. And you will also never be able to again use a trackpad without two finger scroll or two finger right click

+1 for IBM TrackPoints. It's awesome cause i never have to remove my fingers from the keyboard. Plus my arrow can get all the way across the screen without me lifting up my finger, unlike most trackpads. APPLE NEEDS THIS!!

I use the trackpad exclusively. The vertical/horizontal scrolling and right click are nice. I don't have to go searching for the buttons like some laptops.

I had a laptop back in high school that had one of those. I never got the hang of it and found myself trying to avoid it like a plague.

Although I do know it's prone to scroll ball problems, I really do love the design of the mighty mouse and its ergonomics work well with my hand. If, however, the scroll ball does die then it wouldn't be hard for me to get a new one/replacement/fixed.

it'll die trust me

I love the trackpad. For games, I always use a mouse, because, well, come on, the trackpad sucks for games. But for everything else, I absolutely love the trackpad. Since getting my Macbook, I fell in love with two finger scrolling. Whenver I use my mom's dell, I aways try to do it, but am disappointed to find I have to actually click the scroll bar at the side of the window because of no scrolling on the trackpad :( But, yeah, the trackpad owns. Which is funny, because, I've never liked them before. Most of them are too small or whatever other reasons, but, my macbook trackpad, I love it.

I use the trackpad on my MBP, I like how close it is to the keyboard. Macs have much better trackpad integration than PCs.

And Mac trackpads (on the MacBooks and MacBook Pros definitely) are significantly larger than PCs almost all the time. Add to that the fact that you can use the entire surface of the pad instead of having to partition off parts of it with 'Scroll Zones' and what you have left is hands down, the best trackpad around.

I love trackpads, and I prefer them to any other kind of mouse. Maybe because I have used trackpads at least 99% of the last 4 years. I even prefer playing games like StarCraft and WarCraft III with a trackpad.

Anyway, when I get my MacBook, and an external monitor to use with it, I'll start using an Apple keyboard and wireless Mighty Mouse. And I'm not worried about the scroll ball getting clogged up because I actually wash my hands more than once a day.

I <3 my little nub on my work computer.
But I try to use the keyboard as much as possible everywhere.

On my powerbook, its just keyboard and trackpad for me, no external mice.

This is a huge plus to me.
