We’ve been discussing this since November 9th in this older thread. I’m hoping that Apple realise how silly this is and give us all a toggle.

What about cars and Bluetooth input though. Can’t where noise cancelling headphones while driving and I’d rather use the car stereo.
you can control the volume through the stereo can you not. I know I can in mine and it's independent of the phones volume control. And if you car is that loud that you need full volume then your car isn't sealed well or once again your hearing is not the best.

I can but if the phone is on anything other then max it massively reduces the quality.

It sounds like the toggle is there it's just that it's not consistently applied in the same way for different people and different devices for some reason.

I have installed 14.3 RC2 on my iPhone 11 in Switzerland and there is no toggle for on/off switching. This really drives me mad! Please fix this Apple!

i found a workaround that seems to be working.

if you go to the health app, then hearing / sound. Under that section you can find a menu were you can see the data points. go there and delete all the data points for this and the iphone dont have anything to preference with, so you can listen to music as high as you want for a few days while its collecting new data.
Then repeat these steps again after a few days...

I know this workaround. It there a way to automatically delete it? Like a shortcut command or siri?

why is this inconsistent? i had the toggle in 14.2, and it's still there in 14.3. can't figure out why everyone in 14.3 isn't getting that option... (but i guess i should consider myself lucky that i can switch it off)...

the thing is to figure out why the issue is happening for so many people. again, it the toggle works here. there must be a common denominator...
its regional, if your phone has a regional code where the regulation is applied you will lose the ability to turn it off, what is the region code of your phone?

The petition mentions the following:

That the general Apple Feedback web site and not Apple Feedback Assistant, as mentioned in what I posted and linked.
i stand corrected, sorry, weve been told to report feedback about 40 times already, and we all have. nothing was returned thus far, even when we tried to communicate our concerns using the 14.1 radio button (menu option).

ill give the feeback assistant a try, but if a 25+ page ragefest on their forum isnt enough to ring some bells, i doubt this will be the ticket, but were willing to try anything at this point, so ill try.

More like hours... Unless you limit yourself to 80dB - you will hit that threshold as quickly as 1,5 hours at 95dB, 24 mins at 100dB. It’s all about how loud you listen and for how long. Having said that I also use this method to clear that data and I’ve set myself to 90dB which gives me something close to a week of listening.

For what it’s worth - iPhone 11 on Telekom in Germany here - with 14.2, I did not have the toggle to disable this headphone safety function (it wasn’t there at all); with 14.3, I now do have the toggle, and it is disabled by default.

Can you please share screenshot from that toggle. I think you see another toggle as I do.

EDIT: I just saw, you posted a screeshot already. Looks really different

how is it different (just curious)? and are you on 14.3? is this for apple ipods etc only? (i don't use them). how is it not the same for everyone? (at least, per country... or something)...

iPhone 11 on iOS 14.3 region Switzerland (de-ch)
There is no toggle to disable headphone notifications like you got on you iPhone.
I think the notification and the volume adjustment are linked
It always says "Diese Mitteilungen können nicht deaktiviert werden"
->These notifications cannot be turned off
