But once you take that new BETA release (potentially in the coming weeks), then your are bound to the BETA releases unless you perform an iTunes restore from your computer?

I personally would do that, but I think I read here that once you update to a beta (e.g. 10.1) then remove the profile and check for updates the current release of iOS should show up. Not completely sure that is accurate though.

have you done that already? any issues?
I already have the GM 10.0.1 (which is now the public release).

I will have to wait for the next public patch/hotfix before I know if I am able to slide back into the public update system, rather than getting stuck in the BETA program without performing a software restore.

All good. I have also deleted and rebooted now awaiting next public patch to test as you say

How do you do this?
Unenrolling totally from the beta program

Mac OS https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/unenroll#macos
iOS https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/unenroll#ios

Remove the profile and be done with betas, Setting > General > Profiles and then remove the beta one ;)

Hope that helps ;)

What is a GM and how do I remove profile?
GM = Golden Master, usually the build that is declared final and "gold" or ready for primetime! 99.9% of the time it is the final version. (Apple last year had GM1 and GM2 because of a small issue discovered late)

Oh no? Was this a bit of a stupid question?

Sorry if I'm being a noob, was just after the info.
Nope was not a stupid question, people might want / need to test a beta for a period of time and then decide it is not for them, pretty legit and the reason why Apple opens to a public beta.

Some users think they know better than other what is the "right thing to do".
EDIT:
The issue might have been the fact that being a noob (as you called yourself) seems kinda strange that you opted to use a beta in the first place....but there's nothing wrong with it.

Ah, that's all good then. I have strong IT skills, but intricate software policies like this usually plague my mind.

Thank you! I'll wait a few days.

This is when trying to review an app while using GM 10.0.1. So there's at least one difference from running the public IOS 10 build.

I'm on the latest beta too and have an issue with Apple Music. I called an iTunes specialist and he said to install the 9/13 release and see if the issue persists... This is my reason for wanting to go off beta to the public release today.

The issue I've had since being on the beta for a week my "for you" section on Apple Music just shows error and to try again, but it never loads...ever.

I do not have this issue, itd be best to point it to yourself unless there is an endless log of users having the issue. Thus again, there is no difference. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This has nothing to do with the Gold Master. What you are running on your device is identical, byte for byte, to what users downloaded today. 100% the same.
