iPhone 7+ was not just a 6SS. Stereo speakers, 3GB of ram, Camera with Telephoto lens and waterproofing. That's pretty much an entire new phone.

Additionally, haptic Home button and Improved haptic engine, improved front facing camera and extended battery life of two hours.
I suspect there are some users who make silly statements just to elicit a response

the iphone 7 improved almost every hardware component.
- speakers (stereo, finally)
- display (brighter, more colors)
- home button (finally won't go bad after a few years of use)
- 3d touch improved (taptic engine)
- camera (dual camera for the plus, OIS for the small one) and better flash
- new facetime camera
- water resistance
- battery
- faster LTE
- new CPU (obviously)

I have no inside info to offer, but without knowing what Apple's plans are for next year, this is what would make sense to me for this year: iPhone 8 / iPhone 8+ / iPhone 8X. The number eight is lucky in the Chinese culture, a fact not lost on Apple, and that market is increasingly important to Apple. Add to that the fact this newly designed OLED phone is highly anticipated the world over, and I believe Apple expects unprecedentedly huge demands for it.
Personally I have high expectations for FaceID which will be a killer feature.
I will back on this thread questioning the name for the iPhone probably an hour before the KeyNote.
i agree with all of that. but it doesn't change the fact, that the iphone 7 got a new and improved screen
You guys had the same screen for years. Apple just calibrated it better and added better LED backlights to enhance the brightness.
