There are no apps for either DropBox or FlipBoard on Windows. There aren't even emulators.

There are some apps to let you grab files from DropBox...nothing for Flipboard.

 Not sure if serious.

----------

Ok...those are 8.1 PC apps....I assumed we were talking about phone/mobile apps. I guess it is important to note that while Apple developers are getting better at making a single app to cover both phones and tablets, they are still generally the same where Windows allows more/better functionality in some cases.

I guess one of the benefits of the migration to a singular operating system. Glad I will have these when I get my Surface Pro 3. I would have never used them on my phone anyway.

Thanks for the clarification as they don't come up on my phone.

Do you have a Windows 8 phone? I dont. I have a W8 Yoga 11s. I assumed the apps are on the phones too but my Wife has a WP7 and doesnt use DropBox so idont know. Id have to try it myself.

The problem is Google has no long term answer. They flooded the market with Android devices, but there does not seem to be a long term strategy, I'm sure they have it, but it's not clear where their future lies.

They don't have an answer to Windows and OSX; those platforms are slowly moving into the mobile arena.
Whenever I think of a apple fanboy and their justification I immediately compare it to Christian fundamentalists defending their faith. They use vague concepts like faith and love and Apple fanboys are similar with their apologetics using vague concepts of what they consider better with no physical evidence to back it up. It's more "organized" "efficient" "easier". etc.

OK, found them from a Windows 7 phone so its gotta be there from a Windows 8 phone. Dont think they are official apps since they only have a couple of ratings and Flipboard is called Flipboard tips....but it says it is a magazine app. I like Pulse better myself but FB is ok.

Keep in mind that development for windows PC, RT and phone are being merged and this will be less of an issue in the very near future. A developer will be able to make an app that will translate across all the windows platforms.

BTW for dropbox for phone check out Cloudsix, you can do a lot of stuff in it

Also Flipboard for windows Phones is in the works:

Personally I use OneDrive as it's much nicer than Dropbox, especially the way it integrates into windows. I also like the windows News app much better than flipboard, has better customization options IMO.

Totally agree on that one...I use Office exclusively at home and at work, so having access to my accounts on all of my devices and opening up in fully featured programs is perfect in my situation.

Facebook Paper isnt a major/typical app. I cant even find it in the Playstore unless its called something else like Facebook Pages Manager....which from the looks of it, something i dont need. The only reason why i looked is because i didnt know what it was.

Ive been using Dropbox on Windows 8 for a while now. One of the first things i installed almost a year ago.

I dont get the draw of Instagram. I know this is my opinion but i only want to share photos with my friends so that works just fine on Facebook. I deleted Instagram after two weeks as i dont need two places with the same friends and dont need to share them with everyone.

I dont do my Banking on my phone and never will. The ONLY thing in that capacity i have is Google Wallet. I dont even use Paypal on it.

FaceBook Paper is a newly redisgned version of FaceBook made by Facebook. The plan is for it to replace the regular version of FaceBook. It's not on Android so you can't get it. Is it major? Folks that can't get it will surely say it isn't. :)

What Apple showed at WWDC must have them very worried, I think.

While Microsoft and Google are doing hit and misses and still getting settled into what they want to do, Apple has decided, their foundation is concrete, the ecosystem that is stable, convenient, very easy to get into and rewarding.

Apple's organisation is just unmatched. While Android and Microsoft's Operating Systems might offer some features iOS still does not have, what Apple has is a very stable and good underlying platform with standardized rules and features that neither Microsoft, nor Google can match.

HomeKit
Headphone MFi - Allowing for 48KHz lossless audio, which will be big with audiophiles
Metal
SpriteKit
iCloud Drive integration
Family Sharing
Seamless and deep integration between iPhone - Mac - iPad
Health app and integration. Apple won't abandon and do it half-way, like Samsung, so companies will build things for this.

Not to mention tons of APIs and features from previous versions of iOS.

And while having such a strong foundation, now they've started integrating Android's features, which are much easier to do than the foundation part, making Android less and less attractive of an option. With iPhone 6, they'll make big screens too.

So IMO, Google and Microsoft have to be really, really worried. Apple have their **** together and they don't.

You might want to cut back on the cool aid, it's affecting your vision and reasoning :)

Ive never heard of it and havent read anything about it as a redesign. It isnt major right now anyways. It hasnt been out very long and im sure many have never heard of it.

Doing a quick search , it is a trending section and not getting real good reviews right now. It may not be worth a crap like the horrible Facebook Home that stunk to high heavens. That only has a 3 star rating and has more 1 star ratings than 5 stars.
I dont know if it will replace the regular version. That would be bad if most people dont like it.

EDIT** Just read that it is experimental with a small team of 15 people and it is only in the US and only on iPhones. Aledgedly you cant even get it on a iPad. Probably a result of the bad reviews FB Home got when released on every platform.
