In seriously thinking of ditching the S6E and getting the M9.

Battery life is still sub par on my S6e (struggling with only 2-3 hours SOT over a full day) and the app refreshing memory management has gotten to the point where its crossed the line of annoyance to utter PITA. Whether its Samsung modem causing the drain or software, alongside the app refreshing and I'm getting very little enjoyment using the device other than music quality via headphones.

Thinking if see no update in the next two weeks from Samsung, I'll give the m9 a chance.

Just out of curiosity MRU, how many smartphones do you go through in a year?
You seem to have owned just about all of them!

Don't ask. Last year was 16..... I'm on my 4th this year so far.

I'm in denial though and say it feels like 3 ;)

People get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to review devices on YouTube. You seem like a perfect candidate for that job. :)

I have thought about it ... Its something I mean to investigate more info on but never get time as busy with my normal work. But tbh could seriously do with a change work wise if I could make it happen....

I was thinking about the M9 too. But if you get one I will wait to hear your thoughts. HTC rolled out a update to fix the camera issues so I would love to hear what you think about the phone! :)

Yeah the M9 crossed my mind as well. I love the S6 but I remember I really loved the M8 and the only thing I disliked about it was the camera. I bought this device from Best Buy but I know they don't do a exchange and refund difference or anything like that if I wanted the M9. Besides I don't think they have them in stock here.

The also rolled out another update today to the M9's camera to snap pics in RAW mode.

I really liked the M8 too except for the camera. It under performed for me. The early reports of overheating and camera issues has kept me away from the M9.
I played around with one at a Verizon store the other day. It was a pretty nice phone. Nice design... little heavier i think than the M8.

Yeah I can actually say that the M8 was one of the best devices that I have ever owned and I was really looking forward to the M9. If I do get one I will be going for the Developer Edition since the M8 I had was the Google Play Edition. I also had the AT&T M8 as well.

I've dabbled into it but it seems the market has been over saturated with amateur Joes so you need to have a true differentiator like the top dogs DetroitBorg, MKHBD, etc. Their quality, production value, and knowledge is amazing to me and really enjoy their views and thoughts.

I havent found that differentiator yet but its out there.

Yeah I actually began buying the materials and setup to start a Youtube channel and do reviews as well. As all of my friends always tell me I should since I always have the latest phones when they drop. I just haven't been on it with getting it up off the ground. I am on my 5th device this year myself.

Watching YouTube tech reviews is a great time waster and I subscribe to some of the better guys out there and I consistently tell myself "why didnt I think of this?!?"

I change my phone and tech so much I could go through the ringer

Yeah I subscribe to all the known ones as well, MKBHD, TechnoBuffalo, PhoneDog, Android Authority. My favorite are Flossy Carter, Danny Winget, and ZedoMax. I like reviewers that give real thoughts and opinions and review of every day usage rather than just telling us the specs.

I don't trust MRU's camera opinions because every camera to him is awesome because of his scenic landscapes and dog! :p ;)

I like Flossy Carter. He buys his own phones he reviews. No freebies for him. Gotta respect his review He is not afraid to give honest reviews. He doesn't have worry about a review costing him future free phones to to review from OEMs.

Ha! He took pictures with the Moto X and posted them. I said WTF I had that phone and could not take pictures that good with that phone to save my life! :)
