How are you all.getting along with that curved display? In photos the reflections look horrible. That's one thing that Samsung has refined over the last couple of years and these curves look circa S7 Edge....however many years ago that was...3, I guess.

Everything else about this phone sounds pretty cool. I don't want one because I don't want it spying on my donut purchases and reporting back to president Xi Jinping. My loyalty is to the NSA spies. Just kidding. If it were available in the US with a warranty I am sure I'd be all over that super zoom! I really love the orange colored phone. I guess that's a hard one to find.

Those edges, though...yikes.

I just received my first sms from Xi Jinping. He said he liked all of my photos in my gallery :D

I have got the P30, no curved screen for me. Don't like the curved screen phones actually.

Still in doubt to either use the stock launcher or go wild with the Nova Launcher, for some reason I think the Nova launcher is kinda feeling ancient.

Those zooming photos are really the next level with smartphone photography. I am amazed by the sharpness of the photos when zooming in to the maximum.

Ooh I'll have to check out the P30. As always, reviews and hype tend to focus on the extreme versions. I didn't realize the P30 was flat. I've only seen the P30 pro talked up. Lol...say hi to Prez Xi for me!

yeah, I choosed the regular P30 as I am perfectly fine with ''just'' 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom.
I have no need for the 50x digital zoom.

I saved more then €200 by choosing the (regular) P30 and like you mentioned, having the flat screen is something I like much more than those curved screens

This P30 is a true battery champ, really surprised with it. So I will miss the wireless charging from the P30 Pro.
But I am sure I'll be fine with charging overnight to get a full day of (heavy) usage and when going to bed in the evening even have like 30/40% battery left.

Definitely no need to worry about this battery lasting. I've not bothered to go through apps to limit their use and I'm about to charge it at 15% with 7 hours 45 mins SOT. Would have been a lot more if I didn't have a VPN running all day consuming battery. Easily a 9/10 hour SOT phone from a full charge.

Didn't touch my P30 for the last 8 to 9 hours (due to sleeping and having another phone as well ;) ), total idle drain these 9 hours: 3%

incredible after a first day, imho
Doesit have always on display? Seems like a real battery champ...

It does have a AOD. But minimal, compared to your S10 ;)

Last 2 hours I've been shooting some amazing photos and videos here in my hometown, Amsterdam.

Those photos when zooming in like 30x times is really out of this world when it comes to smartphone photography.

In those 2 hours my battery drained just 4 to 5% and this is with shooting photos, making some videos, editing and uploading photos and videos.

I can asure you there's really 0.0 worries about this battery with the P30 series.
I could easily get 2 full days without charging and this would be with normal to heavy (not super heavy, I do have a job :p ) usage without constantly tinkering with battery settings like I had to do with my previous S10

a few of the many photos taken here in my hometown today, Amsterdam...probally a lot of quality loss due to uploading to imgur and sharing here.

disclaimer: I am a real rookie when it comes to photograpy, so be gentle with me please :D

Can’t say I’ve given the curved edges any thought. Which to me at least means they’re not bad!

Been 5 days with the P30 Pro now.

I am really enjoying owning this device. Way more than I did the S10+, and I liked that phone a lot too.

With the S10, I did feel myself drawn back to iOS whereas that hasn't happened at all with this P30.

For my money, it's a better phone than the S10+ but I do like how Samsung has many more customisation options with the Good Lock app etc.

The camera, I am not even going to go on about. All I can say is it's the best camera I've ever used on any phone. I can't believe how fast it is. The phone literally shoots at iPhone speeds and even just navigation in general is fluid, slick and quick.

I have Lean Launcher installed so it looks like a Pixel, so I don't get these complaints about EMUI which I'm seeing a lot of online.
The only EMUI thing about my phone now is when I go into settings, and it's just the same list of settings as per all other Android devices.

I also love some touches from EMUI, like double tapping with a knuckle to screen shot - LOVE this feature. Drawing a line with your knuckle across the screen to split screen. It's just all very user friendly.

Front camera also much much better than the S10. The S10 even with its stupid beauty mode off - made faces look smeared and smooth. Great if you're wanting that look, but I'm really not when I do take the odd selfie.

Battery life is ridiculous. I'm not even sure how they're doing it. Some form of wizadry. :p

I read a lot about the lack of speaker for phone calls, and how it could be a problem. I've made a few calls on this now, and the sound is crystal clear. It's like any normal device.

So far so good. I loved my P20 last year and this is no different. The improvements they've made in a year is staggering to me.

this could be my review of the P30 ;)

nice write up! Especially agree on the battery; the battery life is really out of this world. There is no way I can empty it by 2 full days of usage.

For some reason, the P30 is not my daily driver (yet). My sim is still in my iPhone but when I am at home I am using the P30 more and more.

the OS is buttery smooth, there's simply no lag at all.

The big fun is, ofcourse, the camera and all of the option, the zooming options are simply amazing...some really sharp pictures, even after 5x or 10x zooming in

Fingerprint scanner is lightyears ahead of Samsung's latest S10 series.

Your pics of the Zoo are simply beautiful! :)

Incredible pictures and great write-up! Glad you are also enjoying it.

It's truly amazing how far Huawei have jumped in a year from the P20 Pro, I've been saying that the P30 Pro feels more like a Mate device now.

My network called me yesterday saying I have got an upgrade available, they were talking about the Galaxy S10+, told them I already have the P30 Pro and that the S10+ would be a step backwards for me, they should rather delay my upgrade to when the Mate 30 Pro arrives and I may also have a look at the Note10 if it can match it.
