Where did I call him a liar?
You tired to discredit his / her experience but throwing out a claim that it was written by someone from MS...
Awe someone hurt? Do you own Apple stock?
I won't leave the site as I want to see other opinions.. If you are a-ok overpaying then cool beans, I won't slam your decision as it is your money right?
So someone bought my old 2012 Macbook Pro for about $500, and I went the Microsoft Store and picked up a surface and all I can say is wow. This my first Non-Apple Laptop in quite some time. Honestly its blown me away like my MacBook did when I first got it.
Just the versatility of this product. The ability to remove the screen and use it like a tablet when I'm watching a movie. Then flip back to full mouse and keyboard and use it like a laptop when I need to do serious work. Its perfect, when I am in tablet mode the UI switches to what's optimal for a tablet.
When I am in laptop mode it switches to what's optimal for a Laptop. Can I say the pen, the writing recognition is amazing, I can't believe how accurate it is. Even with my messy hand writing it can detect what I am writing and quickly jot it down. Its a lot of little things they got right.
This is what Apple used to be, at least Microsoft seems to get it.
nohow is the trackpad accuracy/jumpiness vs the macbook?
Is it even 90% as good?
until it starts bugging out, draining battery, or being unreliable.
I've tried explaining this over and over again, and the ardent defenders ignore me every time. Likewise, I have an extended family who have all transitioned to the Mac, since 2006-ish. I can't in good faith advise them to continue on with a Mac. For me, the main factor was having everything glued in, to force customers to upgrade at the time of purchase. What Apple doesn't get is that frequently the professional user is a catalyst for many other sales; bottom line is if I don't "buy" into the Mac, nor will my business`s, family or some friends. I was recently speaking to a friend of mine who is a professional designer, her first words were expressing interest in the upcoming Microsoft Surface Studio and she has exclusively used professionally Mac`s for years, and so it spreads Core Rot...

Same here waited patiently for the 2016 MBP refresh of the MBP; My 2014 13" rMBP is now replaced by a Microsoft i7 Surface Book. 2016 MBP is; too little, too late, and too expensive for the value it currently represents. My systems are employed professionally so they must deliver, Apple is too far off the mark, catering for a different target audience. Personally I never thought that I would opt for a Windows system as my primary portable, let alone one produced by Microsoft, I find it all most ironic.
As I depend on my hardware for my living, it "must" be relevant & current, in many serious engineering streams Apple`s Wireless & USB C only world is little more than a pipe dream. As for, comparing a touch enabled dynamic hot key bar to displays that are fully Touch & Pen enabled, no just no, even Steve Job`s famous Reality Distortion Field fails miserably to generate one iota of the suspension of disbelief required to think this paradigm is remotely believable.

I did consider holding off and waiting for the new i7 with Performance Base (Nvidia 965M), however it adds up the cost of the 256 model significantly, oddly not so much with 16Gb RAM & 512 model. My rational being; that SB2 will launch in 2017 with Kaby Lake and numerous other improvements, possibly Nvidia`s 10 series dGPU, as Microsoft are now aggressive in this area, listening and working to meet their customers needs. Therefore I didn't want to invest in the current model too heavily; I will plan to keep it for a year then look at the 512 SB2 with Power Base, passing my original on to my daughter.
Surface Book is a very impressive notebook, very much hiding it`s hardware, allowing the user to focus on the work at hand. All in all a very nice notebook if not one of the best I have owned/used, who would have thought of such a paradigm working; listening to your customers
Check here for more MR members now on the Surface Book

A 15W last gen i5 for $1,500? Not much else to say really....
LOL, yes you are living proof!
PS - why are you here on a mac site to defend your windows computer? It's SAD man.
edit - and by sad I mean PATHETIC.
listening and working to meet their customers needs.

The real question is why you are so bent out of shape and making a fool out of yourself over other peoples choices and money? It's a little weird and kind of odd.....
You lack it.

I also depend on my hardware for a living, but I'm curious what your 2014 rMBP couldn't do that required an upgrade?

But there are people here complaining about the price of the new MacBook Pros. Microsoft charging THAT much for an old processor is suddenly okay? Here, I'll do you a favor and spell it out for you... You can't possibly know what everyone's situation and requirements are, there for it's impossible to know if THEY overpaid for their laptop. Yes, for YOU it might be too much but don't assume you know anything about me or anyone else on here.
I bought a Yoga 910....But there are people here complaining about the price of the new MacBook Pros. Microsoft charging THAT much for an old processor is suddenly okay?
If only 1 day (just one ) Apple would meet the REAL needs of their customers...One can only dream!
