Thought I'd wrap up the thread with a pic.

I've had my new machine almost a week now. Amazing machine. Fast and does lots of cool stuff. Absolutely love the mirroring. I had my laptop screen on my 75" tv yesterday. So easy to do as well.

So here's my man cave with my MBP 14' running Logic and mirroring off of it is my iPad Pro 12.9 with my Beatbuddy Program. My 2 favorite programs that I use almost everyday. In the background I've got T-Racks and Sound Forge running on my 2014 iMac.

All Elvis, Baywatch Barbie and Godzilla approved

Lucky you! Enjoy! The 14" size is too small for me personly, especily with big hands. I tried out a 16" and it was PERFECT.
My setup is quite simple:cool: :

I prefer a clean and straight look. I will miss the exremely convenient USB-A ports when upgrading later:(

What can you do with Sound Forge that you can’t with your other apps ?

(Besides screen mirroring to an ipad, it’s also nice to be able to extend the cursor off the mbp over to the ipad.)

Off the top of my head = Sound Forge is really good for Normalize, adding EQ, fading in and out, slicing parts off the front and end of songs and changing the format from wav to mp3 vice a versa. I've used that program for 20 years and it's just easy for me to use. I know it inside and out. I'm sure Logic will do all that stuff.

No worries I'll just AIR drop the file to my iMac or ... I'll learn how to do it in Logic. Logic is pretty amazing

Need to place the Mac on a cutting board to make sure that look actually is straight. Lolz

Thanks for the advice and it’s out for delivery. Gonna be awesome. It’s not like we buy these things everyday. This will be my 1st real great laptop. I’ll be doing so much fun stuff with it musically it’s mind blowing.
I somehow missed that this was your first "real" laptop. :) You are in for a treat. You'll drool over the new pretty hardware when you first get it, but when you experience what it can do, that's when you REALLY start appreciating the extra power and ports.

Thanks

Yeah my 2011 MBP was a given to me a couple years ago from the wife cause she never used it. Blue tooth didn't work. SD Card reader didn't work and I use that a couple times a week. Battery needs replacement. It just had lots of issues. 12 years old and all. I used it for a half a year because I liked using a laptop but then I gave up on it. I even installed a SSD and upgraded the RAM. The OS on that and my iMac were so old it just wasn't working well with the internet and social media. Thankfully I had my iPad Pro and iPhone for that stuff but I just wanted a new Mac to do everything the I do musically and the social media sites I use for my Music being a Full time Musician. This thing is amazing.
