Yeah, they aren't world class keyboards
They skew a bit too much towards space savings to accommodate the overall thickness goals of Apple

I guess they are at least better than Butterfly keyboards were (but that's a pretty low bar)
And I don't know if you have the same problem, but I don't like how the keys "bend" when you press them from the side. Often, I don't press the key exactly in the center, and that's precisely the reason why it doesn't register. Many developers use MacBooks, which is why I got one too, but my productivity has decreased because I make typing errors with it

no such issues lol. casual use whilst outside sure i dont mind the keyboard,
but when im at home i always have an external bluetooth keyboard and mouse for that matter when i know im going to be on it for long periods.

thats how i prolong my devices. plus touch typing meant i can hit the keyboard key bang middle without skewing to the side

I used to run my fingertip around the edge of my pre-butterfly MacBook Air keyboard while thinking. Felt good on my finger, was a nice physical distraction, and I didn’t end up with a screenful of “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”s when I was done. :)

Then this was determined to be a “bad thing” when the butterfly keyboard was announced. :(

I have. to say that the keyboard on the M3 Air is good but far from great. I was expecting a keyboard that would be as good as the Magic Bluetooth keyboard but it's clearly a step down. The keys are inconsistent for feel when pressed. Why do the outside keys like tab, shift, enter have key wobble? You press the outside of the key and it feels looser than when you press the middle or inner part of the key. I could overlook it if it was just one key but this applies for the delete key, return, shift, caps lock and tab. That to me is unacceptable. For the money you pay, the keyboards should be flawless.

Maybe I'm just spoiled with using mechanical keyboards and MX Keys over the years but even the type covers on the Surface Pros is far better for feel and typing experience.

I've used just about every Mac portable keyboard since G3 Pismo days. Got comfy with each one after some period of time (even 2015-17 Mac Book 12" butterfly). 2010-2012 15" MBP keyboard were probably my favorite.

M3 14" MBP keyboard is better than average imo (I use multiple !@#$%^##! Dell Latitude ones for work and they suck way more; trackpad too!).
