Kind of like how the iPad air just breaks apart when dropped on a soft mound of dirt, from just a few feet? Yep! That's the price you pay for using parts about as sturdy as Styrofoam.

Not sure why you bother to post in here. All I ever see from you is negative posts regarding Android and how much you love Apple. Seems like trolling to me.

Rofl that's how sad this argument is getting: bringing in a tablet to a phone discussion. Because we were totally discussing iPads, GJ.

My Samsung washer wouldn't survive a 6 foot drop either btw. Nor would my flatscreen. My fridge might though.

I'm done here, agree among yourselves.

I have 2 Note 3s and 2 iPhones at home. (1 of the Note 3s with a cracked LCD because it couldn't survive a 3 foot fall onto the carpet, but that's the price to pay for using plastic that's about as sturdy as styrofoam). :)

But nah I'm biased and trolling.

Gave me a good laugh though telling me the Note 3 is smoother lmao not even in the same league, which is sad given the immense hardware advantage.

I'm much more confidant about dropping a samsung phone phone than dropping an iPhone. Their plastic is actually pretty durable.

I had one serious drop with my S4. I was on a nightshift on the ward and I dropped it from it out of my hand smack face down onto a marble floor. It had a screen protector on and the s-view cover but the cover was open so it landed face down. There wasn't a mark on the screen or on the back of the phone.

When I got my original note, whilst I was adjusting to the size I dropped it twice. Both times on concrete pavement. The phone was again face down with a screen protector on and the screen was fine, as was the body. The next time was on the pavement it bounced right out of the case it was in and landed face down but the screen/body were not damaged.

I think using a case and screen protector is really important though. I've also dropped my iPad mini from standing height face down onto a laminate floor. It was in a case with a screen protector on an d it didn't get a mark on it.

I want speed more than smoothness. The speed on the iPhone feels like tortoise speed compared to my blazing fast note3.

After so many years apple just can't fix the retarded scrolling speed of ios. It maybe smoother than android but the scrolling speed is unnaturally slow. This destroyed the entire UI experience.

Nexus 5 or bust. Touchwiz and Sense introduce a lot of lag, and launchers don't get rid of it...just hide it.

Nexus 5 > Jailbroken iPhone 5/5s > *Skinned Android Devices.

Have a S4 that was knocked off low table onto vinyl floor now has a cracked screen, nephew dropped his S3 from waist hight wood floor cracked screen, have dropped both iphone5 and nexus 4 from same kind of heights, no problem, do like android, but the samsung is full of bloatware, if i go for another samsung, will try for a play edition, which hopefully would be bloatware free, and samsung seem very slow in coming forward with OS updates but as i have said before in other posts, apple maps beats the pants off google maps, so need to stick with iPhone as main phone.

The Note 3's smoothness ceases to be impressive when you realize A) it's still not as smooth as WP7/iPhone despite B) it took near laptop specs to get it running in a straight line.
Never seen anybody use a spec boost as a negative argument before. Interesting world you live in.

A spec boost that's irrelevant when it's still slower than the competition's phones from last year with half the specs.

Interesting world you live in where throwing hardware at software laziness and bloatware instead of optimizing and being smart with the software is considered futuristic.

There are places on this forum that people like you and I (pro iPhone/iOS supporters) can go instead of starting, stopping then restarting arguments here.

It's blue on black. What's so eye gouging about the Notification shade?

Never owned a moto x or Nexus 5 so I can't comment on those but my Note 3 is just as smooth if not more so than my iPhone 5s. So unless those 2 are faster and smoother than the iPhone then it's not better than the Note 3. I don't know where you get this notion that it isn't.
Trust me... from personal observation... The Nexus 5 is ahead the Note 3 in terms of performance by a significant margin especially with ART enabled on the Nexus. Never underestimate the power of an efficient operating system. I'm sure the Note 3 with a stock kitkat rom with ART enabled would be amazing also.

Touchwiz is just not that great in terms of performance.

Interestingly my friend just dropped S4, after doing a night shift on the wards and her screen smashed.

It might be slightly better with ART but I doubt it's better by a significant margin. Don't know about you but I don't have any lag with touchwiz.

I highly doubt it. Maybe not gingerbread level days but it is present, especially with apps like facebook and multitasking in general. One thing I love about the Nexus 5 with ART enabled is how long it will keep an app "saved" in the last state I used it in. I can hit the multitasking button on my nexus and go up 7 apps to an app that I used a few hours ago and it would instantly pop up and not have to reload. Every other android device I ever used would have to reload apps when using the multitask button when I just used it a mere 30 minutes ago.

And btw... ROCKETS 3RD IN THE WEST BABY!!! Ya I'm a die hard Rocket fan also. You go to clutchfans.net often?

Haven't been to clutchfans in a while but I'm a Houston native so of course I'll root for our teams. Even the Stros :D. This might be our year, the key piece is Chandler Parsons, you heard it here first :)

Anyways, back on topic. I hear what you're saying but what I'm saying is that the touchwiz experience on the Note 3 is different from any other touchwiz experience out there. I had a S4 for 3-4 months and yes it was a laggy mess. Not so much with the Note 3. I've generally had more problems with my iPhone 5s like apps crashing, touch ID not working consistently and touch responsiveness not being near as good as other iOS iterations, than I do with the Note 3. It's a much different beast and works near flawless.

They're pretty sweet. I went to AT&T to play with iOS 7 and make sure I liked it, these droids are far more graphically advanced than iOS.

I do love them. The Samsung Note 7 is terrific! - very tempted

However consider that Apple intentionally make the screens and icons simple. Its part of the USP to make them easier to use. Its the reason I don't use Android. its too fiddly.

I just need my phones to work day-in day-out. with calls, social media and internet and minimal issues.
I get that in spades from Apple

Holy thread resurrection. You do realise this thread is over 2.5 years old since anyone last posted ? ;)

I love IPhone as well, I just wish that they would take to some more radical upgrades like the wireless charge. The phone needs a boost. Iphone 7 sales are not what they could have been if they would have done a few things different such as this.

im not claiming that sales are down but merely that they could increase demand even more if they made some of the changes like i mentioned. Easy guys, one comment doesnt warrant a crucifixion.

How can they increase demand if the phone is already sold out?
That would mean demand is outpacing supply.

iPhone 7 is sold out everywhere, poster is making stuff up.
"Sold out everywhere" is the illusion Apple has created.

Holding back on supply, they masterfully play the game. People want what they can't have.

Apple has built a billion dollar empire off brilliant smoke and mirrors marketing.

Others who don't understand, will argue that holding back costs Apple money through lost sales. But the opposite is true, holding back insures long term demand, that equals robust sales.

At the end of the day, Apple grew up to be the 800lb. Gorilla by being the very best at sales and marketing thanks to Steve Jobs.

I agree they should have added features like fast charging, wireless charging, maybe a slimmer design, oled display, etc...and hopefully they will do that with the rumored iphone 8 next year.

But in all honesty I think people are going to buy Iphones anyway, regardless of whether Apple makes any changes at all.
