Sorry, but I can't read this, so I'm not really able to comment on this.
well, I can't find it in English as it auto switch to Spanish, but "face ID directions Apple" will show you the official website from Apple.
When the iPhone is laying in a dock, it is already in the position you are going to hold it so grabbing it wont make the screen switch ON, this means you need to touch the screen to activate it, Face ID is quick for optimal conditions but it doesn't count the thousand of situations you face all day.
I agree with all this people who say Touch ID unlocks the iphone just when you grab it before even you face your phone (I put the thumb in the button ASA I take it from anywhere), Face ID is just because this, more slow, but it even fails a lot…
when is in the desktop, you have to push the screen which is a second delay, then look to your phone in a proper way, then swipe, VS touching the button straight and unlock!!
sorry but is pure math, there is no discussion here. 3 is more than 1 at human scale.

I tested that but did not notice any difference in speed on my 11 Pro Max. Maybe it is faster on older phones?
I switch it OFF yesterday, I found out it works a bit better on my desk unlocking, but all the extra steps to awake the phone and swipe are presents.
Awkward
