Very interesting! Do you have pics of the ads?
This is what Apple wrote on their site

''On 25 October 2012, Apple Inc. published a statement on its UK website in relation to Samsung's Galaxy tablet computers. That statement was inaccurate and did not comply with the order of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. The correct statement is at Samsung/Apple UK judgement''

Although Apple tried to hide the advert on their website

https://www.cnet.com/news/apple-quietly-pulls-apology-hiding-code-from-u-k-site/

Apple were then ordered to correct the advert and leave it on their site for 6 months

https://www.williamfry.com/newsandi.../05/apple_ordered_to_update_publicity_notice_

And here is the updated version of the advert

''On 9th July 2012 the High Court of Justice of England and Wales ruled that Samsung Electronic(UK) Limited’s Galaxy Tablet Computer, namely the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Tab 8.9 and Tab 7.7 do notinfringe Apple’s registered design No. 0000181607-0001. A copy of the full judgment of the Highcourt is available on the following link www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Patents/2012/1882.html.''

iPhone was introduced after RIM / Blackberry had already enrolled the early adopters.

Also iTunes was not invented by apple - they just bought the company "Soundjam" eliminated a major competitor and brought the sound jam team into apple.

Thanks didn’t know that about iTunes. Typical Apple then, again didn’t innovate just bought someone who did. Didn’t they do the same with apple mysic? Everyone else though also seem to just buy innovative tech like streaming services.

Also I am not talking just about Blackberry, their was Nokia and Sony Ericsson and Windows Mobile devices some by HTC and others out, long before The iPhone.

Like the report in the first post of this thread, Samsung will bring this to market, after a few years it will be a perfected and wide spread design amongst makers, Apple will launch its version and suddenly get tons of patents and then attempt to sue the competition of the shelf’s. It’s tried to do that with the Note despite the Note existing what 3 years before the Plus?

Anyway I don’t think foldabale screen devices will come into their own until we have batteries that can also bend or be tiny and provide power for a month.

Yes they bought Face ID, Touch ID and Siri too.

Yes Apple Music was beats music, a subscription music service which Apple purchased along with the beats headphone brand.

I would rather have my ole flip Razor back than this...

If Motorola came out with a (slightly larger) Razor with two screens instead of the screen-keypad, I would consider getting it as a backup phone just for nostalgia. I loved that phone.

I love Apple. I love my iPhone but they haven’t innovated in years. They play the opposite game now. They ‘perfect’ things.

What they're doing with HealthKit is some serious and very risky innovation. Healthcare IT is the graveyard of futurists. They're going there and hopefully they'll be able to make a breakthrough.

How about AFPS? That's something new and innovative too. I hear they're making some pretty good progress in producing ARM chips for iOS devices that are able to run on less power and deliver more punch than anything Android devices have available and those chips might eventually make their way into Macs.

Just because somebody isn't coming out with the latest shiny object, doesn't mean they're not doing anything. They've been busy. I would rather they keep working on these less flashy products that are going to have a longer tail than the next form factor for a phone.

Folding smartphones will be hot next year, but in 2020, they'll be so 2019! Only dinosaurs would own one!

You’re preaching to the converted. I said I love my iPhone. I’ve had iPhones since the 3G. I don’t care what other companies are doing. For me personally the best phone is an iPhone.

But I stand by my statement. Apple don’t innovate. They ‘perfect’.

And if folding phones are a thing in the next few years you can guarantee Apple will release something to fill the gap 3-4 years after the first one appears.

Normally you could agree in part with that, but iOS 11 is just about as far removed from ‘perfection’ as you can possibly get! Due to the bugs.

Samsung's foldable phone will reportedly have a 7-inch screen http://flip.it/Y2Dwg_
Apple is already experimenting with folding displays, ie. The iPhone X (its display is folded at the edges).

I don’t think the foldable display tech is there yet for a mass consumer production (with the folding as the main consumer facing feature). Even Bill Gates has that opinion.

Invention does not equal innovation, it seems.

This doesn’t make sense. You’re quote should be reversed. You have to innovate *first*, then invent. You First have to create the idea and concept of something, then followed by the blueprint of the actual convention itself.

As you wish. My sentence did not take order of things into account. And did not intend that either.

Come on, the ar emojis are a blatant ripoff and it’s so execution is so bad it’s kind of the butt of everyone’s jokes, like bixby still is.

If Bixby is a butt of everyone's joke, then what is Siri?
With a five year head start over Bixby, you'd expect Siri to be better, but it's not at all.
Siri is siriously neutered..

The apple emojis are better though. Yayyyyy

Hahahaha.
Ok keep preaching the Samsung gospel.

“Samsung’s Bixby—A frustrating voice assistant with all the wrong features

“In general, Bixby seems broken and unfinished.”

Yeah it’s soo good Samsung was paying its users to use bixby. Hahahaha.

That doesn’t sound good .

Honestly this article by fortune is just brutal.

“Bixby 2.0 Is Likely To Be A Reason Not To Buy The Galaxy Note 9”

Bixby is a reason not to choose a Samsung device

Bixby is Samsung’s attempt to compete against Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and so far, it has been nothing short of a disaster.... This is because compared to Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and even the much-maligned Siri, Bixby is hopelessly outclassed.

And

Bixby voice only shines in the areas where Samsung has given it special access to hardware that competitors do not have. Outside of this area, Bixby is a third-rate experience that is unlikely to generate much traction especially as the vastly superior Google Assistant is just a button press away.

And

In fact, the user experience is so bad that Bixby is more of an annoyance to Samsung users and is rapidly becoming a reason not to buy a Samsung device.

Ouch

After seeing that video comparison, what you posted seems like a witch hunt by the articles author. I never knew Siri is really that bad.

All I saw was how painfully slow bixby was compared to Siri. I mean really slow.

By fortune... your grasping at straws. Bixby is that bad.

Or are you saying Samsung paying off its customers to use bixby is a witch hunt?

I never knew Siri is really that bad.

Not compared to bixby, according to fortune.

But but a YouTube video.

I was surprised the video was from appleinsider. Clearly bixby is very good with phone/app related commands. For others, GA can be used. Siri is just neither here nor there :p

Yeah....Siri is waaaay behind everyone else. Apple really needs to put some effort into it.

“Bixby print”
Lol sure.

So you are saying to actually get a good digital assistant, you have to use two?

No thanks, I’ll stick with Siri.

Bixby has been universally panned. There have been a few videos on YouTube showing all the things it can do in depth which put it in a better light.

I understand why they want to have a voice assistant but it’s too late and Bixby isn’t good enough. Most people will just use the google assistant. It’s not even worth using. Siri might not be as good as the google assistant or Alexa but what it does it does well and I think it what it can do is useful to most people.

There are some things bixby can do which Siri can’t most of the time it kept saying it couldn’t understand what I was saying so I disabled it. I wasn’t very optimistic about it anyway because S voice was atrocious.

I would give bixby some credit for being able to do stuff related to phone operations that the others can’t do. However it doesn’t work for me. I think most would just use google assistant which is a good assistant and use Siri if you’re on iOS.
