That is the perfectionist fallacy.

Some email services are more reliable than others, and people are supposed to choose those for their professional email if they require greater reliability.

i.e. if you want to minimize the possibility of your car breaking down, don't use cheap parts.
 
the issue I have with email being down is not for business purposes; as we have a true business solution. But my personal email (solely apple based) I use for bills, commerce, airline, my son's school, etc.

So why many can argue (and I agree) pick a solid business provider for your email (I.E. MS exchange server), the fact that iCloud is down certainly does not make it any less difficult to conduct daily life's needs- (at least in our day and age).

I really wonder what the hell is going on with this tbh; not even any tech blogs seem to be picking it up.
 
I just got home and iCloud not working (via Mail). I'm in Western Canada (Alberta). It may have been offline all day but I only just now checked.
 
On my Mac, the email program sends "error" that it didn't recognize my (iCloud?) password. I reenter it, but no go. BUT, when accessing the Web based iCloud site, it does recognize my password. But, still no receive emails.

Anyone else getting the error message from computer email system?
 
I just got off the phone with customer service. After reading theme riot act I was told that someone screwed up big time and that they have no idea when it will be back up.
 
Still no fix, been down since 9:48 PM last night here in OK. Also is affecting 4 out of 5 accounts, dout the1.1% This is unacceptable,will be saying goodby to me.com.
 
Interested to know why sure a major failure of iCloud hasn't made front page of Macrumors?

Pretty pissed of waiting for a repair:mad:
 
Apple now claims all systems back to normal but my email is still out.

All services are online.

Mail may be slow or unavailable. When Mail is available, users may experience delays with incoming messages. Normal service will be restored ASAP.

I'm pretty pissed too. I have a ticket that was sent to my .mac email to go see the Stanley Cup tomorrow. If I can't access it I can't go. So pissed right now!
