Home and power button at the same time.

I use the photobucket app to send my photo straight to my photobucket account, from there I copy and paste the link into my post. :)

I don't understand why you (and others) go through that hassle?

With Android's OS, and just like a PC, you can attach any image directly to your post. When you go to reply/post, look down below the text field ↓↓↓, under "additional options" ↓↓↓ and click "Manage Attachments" any image in your Gallery can be attached, quickly and easily. No other photo services required.

Sorry iOS users, no love for you, since Apple forbids you from accessing your own files.

Can you not pick photo's straight from the folder on your phone to post? I use tapatalk and it allows this but appreciate not everyone likes tapatalk. :)

Yes, you can. See my reply above.

Yes, you can. See my reply above.

You can use Safari on iOS and upload images here directly. It works perfectly fine. I've done it.

Well, I stand corrected. This didn't use to be the case. I am going to have to start using my iPod Touch more, and catch up on iOS.

Thank you for the correction. :)

Edit: Had to post a pic from my iPod to try it out. Works great.

What I don't get is standby time I get a day roughly but when I'm out it drops like 10-15 percent.. Can't understand why. Dropped from 83 down to 70 after playing tennis for 3 hours.. Can't just be notifications right?

Battery life on android has always been subpar for me when compared to iPhone's. However the newest phones seem to have definite improvements. This is the battery life I'm getting, and this is with LTE enabled. The phone wasn't used much during that period (maybe 10-15 minutes each day), but it does show good idle battery life is possible on android!

Did it connect to bluetooth when you went to the tennis, say in your car. I have my bluetooth on all the time and it drains quicker on a morning and evening traveling too and from work when connected to B/T. :)

Whats your signal like?

I am in the uk also and get variable signal (gprs, edge, 3g) it is always changing and causes the battery to run down a lot quicker, unless I am n a town centre then it's pretty good

look at your figures like post #82, what does it look like for mobile signal, does the colour change a lot

Root it and put Greenify on it - let it auto hibernate apps that cause the device to stay awake. Great improvement in idle battery life. The apps still work as they should when they are in foreground.

At home and at work signal is shocking.. Vodafone for you but yeah standby time is great at home.

Think I should change my 3g when out to edge when out and about when I know I won't use my phone? I used to switch 3G offon my iphone when at work for example

After a lot of tinkering, i have found a way to reduce idle drainage to 1% per hour. My phone lost 7% charge last night after 7 hours by doing the following 3 things.

1. Used greenify for all my apps except Watsapp and RSS Reader
2. Used Mobiwo Firewall to block 3G access to most apps except above 2 and some others
3. Used Juice defender to automatically turn Off 3G on screen off.

Its appreciable as compared to my previous stats( 3% drainage per hour on standby).

Do you just download all those apps then and it stops battery drain on standby? As my S4 normally drains about 15-16% over a 7-8 hour period.

Those apps have a specific purpose. You have to specify which apps u want in "suspended" state in greenify. It hibernates those apps and android system will make use of them again only when u are using it. I hibernate most of the apps except which need to run in background to fetch data i.e. watsapp, gmail, rss reader

Juice defender by default on "balanced" settings will turn off 3G when screen is off and will only reconnect when u start using the phone.

Mobiwol is a firewall and u can specify which apps can access 3g. I turn off 3g access to most apps except for playstore, browser, rss reader, watsapp. Actually i keep playstore disabled and whenever i have to download something, i enable it. This i do cuz in the firewall logs i can see google playstore and services framework keep trying to access 3g from time to time. So i keep them disabled until i need them .

Juice defender sounds perfect for me..mainly when overnight. I just want my phone to use wifi when at at sleep..i get alot of twitter notifications at night but not sure why my battery drops so much in standby overnight.

I don't get it. my s3 drains 0.5 - 1% on 3g (not lte) per hour standby. I have Gmail Tasker, whatsapp Skype Facebook all running in the background or to sync. I also have quite a few widgets updating around half to 1 hr regularly. also have life wallpaper.

all I am using is advanced task manager to kill any unwanted background apps when phone goes to standby. i find games or ad supported apps usually linger in the background using battery.

also when on wifi standby is worse than 3g.

I'm happy with my standby time. :) I've had a couple of days off from work so not really used my phone much, has just under 2 hours on screen time.
