Just remember, Nexus One was the first one, about 3 years ago, with only 200mb internal memory and less than 1gz processor.

The Nexus S came with 1gb internal memory and 1gz processor. So, it's a big difference!!

Now the Prime will come with, OMG!!! Speechless!!!

All Nexus versions came AKA "iPhone killers"...

I said before, you can't beat iFashion!

Been there done that. The only way I will go android is if I no longer use Mac. Android was GREAT, but went against 90% of my normal apps and routine

Some people come to the world to innovate and change concepts...

Steve Jobs came with excellent idea that change the whole world (and charged thousands of dollars for his idea and followers) making Apple customers like slaves...

Larry Page came with another great idea, that also change the whole world: Make everything on the Internet FREE, giving freedom to the people who follow him...

The world will see when Google start putting its FREE OS in computers... Thats what Larry did with Smartphones...

The world has changed. No one wants to be slave of any OS... Actually, some people like to continue slaves...

BTW, I love my MacBook Pro i7!

Anyone who believes google is an angel between all the technology companies and its sole reason to exist is to serve people is in for a big shock :)

Btw why android? I have tried WP7 and IMO for an iOS user, WP7 is a perfect alternative. Same smoothness, consistent OS across all devices, and good updates. Plus as a student i can dev-unlock for free and build and test apps in minutes!

Sure it lacks customization, but i never get why people are so in love with customizing a phone. I haven't cuztomized my Win7 PC except for a new wallpaper every few days. I don't get the point.

For everything else, WP7 smokes android IMO. Anyone looking for a good alternative should try the upcoming second-gen WP7 devices and then make a decision. Plus with Nokia's hardware and offline maps it will be even better.

Then why do you put on different wallpapers? Its the same thing. People like to customize other things the way they want it. Im sure you dont use the same ringtone all the time either. I dont see the point of NOT doing that if you can, and with Android...you can and if you could, you would too.

As for WP7...it didnt impress me much but i also didnt take one home for a week and really play with it. Im sure it has its good points. To each their own, for what ive tried, i like Android over WP7.

You Crazy?

Of course not. If people escape the mentally that you need a new phone every year then I think you'll start enjoying your phone a lot more.

I have a GS2 and i haven't done anything except for changing wallpaper. I did try some themes for the litening ROM but hated them all. To me they all look unprofessional and just plain ugly.

Also you didn't get my point. Customization doesn't mean everyone should just focus on that for the reason to choose a device. Oh hey, you can customize and android to anything, that alone makes it superior or better. Sorry it doesn't. Customization is moot if the rest of the platform fails to meet my expectations. And surprisingly WP7 actually meets them far better than android.

Well good for you then. Go use what you like better. Thats what choices are all about and its pretty cool that we have them. If you dont want to utilize the customizations, then thats your choice.
For me, Android works great and the customization...i like it because of all the things i use like facebook, twitter, emails (yahoo & gmail), etc...i have a differnt tone for each so when i hear it, i know which one it is without having to go look thru them. Everything else works for me too.

Im sure id get used to WP7 if i used it long enough but i havent and i have no interest at all in switching to it and i mess with it everytime im in a store or if someone has one that i work with and i just dont really care for it.

I have probably had more Android Phones in 2011 then most people will have in a lifetime lol. Before pre-ordering the iPhone 4S Friday morning I had T-Mobile. Beginning December of 2010 I had the myTouch 4G. I wasn't satisfied by this phone and found it to lag. I then purchased the Samsung Galaxy S 4G which lagged so bad I returned it the next day. I then went back to the myTouch 4G again but only to go through 3 of them before calling it quits. Then I went through 3 HTC Sensation's before saying bye bye Android. Every Android phone I've had lagged and didn't feel polished. I am sure the Galaxy S II is no exception.

iOS for LIFE!!!!

Ok. So i don't see why someone would get riled up for me suggesting why people always say "if iPhone is this, would you go android". Why not WP7, or something else. Those are all valid choices too. Android people always start ferociously defending their precious OS the moment someone utters the name of a different OS>

If something comes out that is better or works better for me, ill use that too. I liked my iPhone but had to jailbreak it to get it to do things i wanted it to do which isnt a big deal really but then everytime i updated it, the battery life got worse and finally it wasnt getting updated anymore and it was slow and Android with T-Mobile just was a better option since i would always have EDGE speeds.

I think the OS that Nokia uses looks pretty good too. Without playing with it myself, it looks to me to be something id like better than WP7 but thats intil i actually try it.

Considering it for LTE

That maybe a reason in some places. But in the UK... LTE?! No non tech person has heard the term yet!! It doesn't exist out here. (Makes me feel almost old fashioned :p.)

Seriously though, no. Android? Forget it. I've spent way too much on the App Store to shift camps now for one thing. ;)

Also may I just say I kind of dislike the way you word that question. The iPhone 4S is a redesign over the 3GS. Who the hell upgrades their iPhone every 12 months or so to keep up with the attest model? I may be able to afford multiple Apple computers, an iPhone, iPod touches and an Apple TV but I sure can't afford to get a new iPhone every time one's released.

Let's just examine this a bit deeper as well shall we? iPhone to iPhone 3G-no major redesign. 3G to 3GS-no major redesign. Last year-3GS to 4-major redesign. And do you remember the comments when the design turned up with Gizmodo. Things like, What's with this chunky new casing? It doesn't have a curved back. And what are these seams?!?!?!

I recall the new design didn't receive massively good reviews at all. Until Apple actually released it and explained that the seams were to do with the new antenna system. Then everyone thought "Oh wow. Apple have done it again-revolutionised design simplicity and functionality. Cool!" Mind you, that changed when there was the Antennagate issue.

If I wasn't buying a 4s my next phone would be a Windows phone. I've had the chance to spend some time with it and it blows android away.

I don't need a redesigned phone every single year i mean really if that's the case then why dont we try and redesign the wheel :p

Sure android's come in different shapes and sizes but more power to them. My iPhone works for me. :apple::cool:

No way. Every Android phone Ive ever seen...newest ones included look like garbage as far as screen resolution, and the OS is nowhere near intuitive.

Windows Phone 7 is the only other major smartphone OS I have never owned. I've owned Symbian, BB OS, iOS, webOS, and now currently checking out Android. I am also looking forward to RIM's QNX when they start to become available for phones.

For at least one day, my experiences with Android is not bad at all. I assumed far worse than what it really is. On 2.3.6 Gingerbread and rooted, and this near 2-year old phone is fairly smooth. We will see what that is like a month from now. Perhaps it gets a bad rep and the "laggy" comments get overblown which is no different with other OS-centric websites. So far, I haven't seen the lag or perhaps I am not as OCD like before to even notice a split second difference when scrolling or in multitouch. And about 80% of apps from my iP4, I don't really use and most of the essentials can be found in the Android Market as well. Like that quote from Forrest Gump - "Now, Momma said there's only so much fortune a man really needs and the rest is just for showing off."

I still think Apple has the best ecosystem, stable, and the apps still are better made, If you are too invested with them, stick with them. But there are some nice advantages too with Android like widgets to look at info at a glance and phones offering a expandable memory slot, varying designs, and removable batteries. These phones can be used for a long, long time and not forced to pay $80-$100 because the storage is running out or the battery needs replacement. Apple for the 3rd straight season since 2009, they will charge you $100 just for another 16GB and 32GB of space when microSD cost $15 and $40. So for three straight gens of iPhone, you get the same screen size since 2007 but you also get charged $299 for a 32GB model. Compared to Android phones at 16GB on sale for $99 or less and then adding another $15 for another 16GB microSD. That is a savings of of over $200.

To me, Android might seem like a Trojan horse just for Google's ads, but understand Google also has to deal with the manufacturers' own shortcomings. They can't control the different specs that come out. So it is much harder for them compared to Apple to cater to every phone with varying specs and skins on them. I just like that Ice Cream Sandwich is going to support many older phones. Android isn't as bad NOW compared to their Cupcake and Eclair days. Alot has changed since. Much more refined in the Gingerbread era.

Heck no, I'm ditching Android for an iPhone!

Android phone manufacturers approach smartphones just like they did "Feature phones":
Marketing hype for a few months, churn out a cheaply made product, push it for 6 months, shove it aside and start all over.

I know my Android experiences have probably been worse than the average, but between the differences in hardware quality, warranty/customer service, and OS updates... buying another Android on a 2 year contract for around $200 seems borderline insane.

Globetrotter wannabe...
No way and it has never really been something to even start considering.

The question is should I buy the 4S or stick to my beloved 4.

Immediately after the keynote I was, as many others, slightly disappointed by the lack of design change and was firm about not wanting 4S-the new features are all good and right, but it simply did not look like a quantum leap from the 4, which I love and which has never let me down.

Now however, I am considering buying 4S for two main reasons:

1. Having a 4S would be a nice tribute to Steve and will surely be something special from emotional point of view and...

2. This Siri thingy starts to grow on me...:D

I just sold my Nexus One like an hour ago for a profit.

I liked some of the things Android had like launcher, live wallpaper, and better integration to my GMail and Google Voice account. But everything about the OS felt undercooked. I felt like it was 2008 again with iOS / JB scene when Winterboard was known to crash and slow down our iPhones. Don't get me wrong, I loved that era in 2008 when jailbreak was new to me. But sometimes we pass that phase of customization and tinkering to get something that simply is more stable.

I really, really wanted to like my Nexus One and even went with the most minimal look and uses for it. It was my dream phone back then. But being it was second hand, I can see why it was being sold. It takes hours and hours to put all my music on there. It crashes everytime I played a video on it no matter which video player app I used. And when I did try to play a video, it would play a song instead and say the card is in error. It would randomly crash or lag even with only like 2-3 widgets on there. The internal memory was so little that NOT all apps can be moved to the microSD card that I would be left with under 20 MB. Going to change my avatar today. The Nexus One simply was flawed and Android being flawed itself doesn't make the experience any better. The apps simply are better made with iOS with better and more fluid UI. Nexus One is such a beautiful phone being marred by Android even more. This was more unstable than when I had the Pixi which was underpowered by comparison.

Not a great first experience with Android, but there is still some potential there that I can still myself going back to one if the hardware and OS is polished enough. For every thing you can do with Android, there is also as much headache to go along with it sometimes. I am hardly a fanboy for any brand, but Apple simply is the best right now and many shouldn't argue with it anymore if you tried them all. Nothing else out there can really compare at everything. I may go check out WP7 next but even I don't expect it to surpass iPhone.

One week after Steve's death, and it was almost like an omen for me to sell off my first Android while I finally got my iPhone 2G to reactivate again after spending a couple more days playing with the N1. The man even in death is like Obi-Wan Kenobi in spirit and still use his Jedi mind tricks.

Just stick to Apple. It just works. :apple:
