Not to nitpick but would you mind putting your 'Happy fashion :) Nexus S' stuff in your sig? It's pretty annoying to have it in there every time someone quotes you.

Sorry bud but I guess you iFashion guys don't know what is an Android app called Tapatalk... You should try it... Great stuff!

BTW, I don't have a signature! Tapatalk has MacRumors in its database and this "Sent by..." stuff is done by default...

It is also advertising in your posts which I suspect is against forum rules.

Well edit it not to do that or is that something else android sucks at?

You see now why I state that Android is freedom: It uses the best stuff of each OS can offer...

I never thought I would switch to android. But this weekend I'm going to give them a serious look. I don't know if I'll switch, but I'm considering it.

The only problem is that the phone is so integrated with my laptop and iPad, that it would make it a bit inconvenient to switch.

Those are bogus specs apparently.

http://www.gsmarena.com/source_close_to_google_reveals_real_nexus_prime_specs-news-3239.php

Summary: 1.5 GHz dual core CPU, same GPU as iPad 2 (and likely the iPhone 4S), 8 MP camera that can shoot 1080p HD video, 2050 mAh of battery.

Since no other phone runs iOS, no, I will not be switching. iOS is the only reason I bought my iPhone, and the only reason I will continue to use it. NFC, big screens, HDMI output, etc...are all trivial to me. I would use them sparingly and not enough to justify giving up iOS.

Plus, I still haven't come across one Android device that gets scrolling right. It's terrible.

<snip>

Two things give me pause:

1) Will it be have at least a metal chassis as rumoured or will it feel like so many Samsung higher-end phones - cheapish with so much plastic? If it is plastic, I am not interested as no way will I be able to get this at anything approaching the cost what I believe I will be able to get the iPhone 4S through Rogers (not that I am upgrading my 4).

2) I really love Apple's Genius stores and the really fast and hassle free way I can get a faulty phone replaced with either a perfectly looking refurb or occasionally a new one when the refurbs have run out that day (I have Applecare for the extra year on my current 4).

For the rest, the specs are great (but specs are not everything) and I do have great hopes for Ice Cream Sandwich. I am jailbroken but being jailbroken does not approach nearly enough what I would like in terms of operability that can be obtained say with Gingerbread or Honeycomb.

Also, to add to my previous post, my personal experience with Apple's customer service is second to none. If I had any problems with my Apple products, they took care of me without question.

If I have a problem with an Android device, it leaves me with going to my local carrier store to have it taken care of. This was my main reason for switching from Verizon to AT&T years ago. Their customer service was abysmal with the devices they offered.

My only concern about the Prime would be the price, as iPhone 4S(4Steve) won't have any substantial change...
So, I'll take that iPhone 4S will come with a very attractive price and the Nexus Prime with a very expensive deal...

That part I bolded - I was playing around with a friend's HTC the other day, and this really struck me - the scrolling, especially for browsing, is shockingly ****.

Android is still stuck being a linux for phones.

It works, it's functional and everybody can just about understand it, but why would you put yourself through it if you didn't have to

Sense UI just about makes it nice to use

I would agree with that statement 100% a year ago, but these days, many android devices do scrolling perfectly fine.

Sometimes it takes flashing a ROM or doing a mod, but they are capable of perfectly fluid scrolling.

You just have to find the right phone/software. I recommend HTC or Samsung. Moto sucks.

by next year things should be even better, and the animations and little niceties are getting really fancy.

Also, due to bloatware and all the things loaded on in-store models, i wouldn't rely on those as accurate in terms of everyday use or potential.

Nope Apple all the way, every year I get the new one on a discounted new 2 Year, but for some reason this year after ordering the 4S AT&T put me on a 18 month renewal cycle, so I get it 10-2011 and eligible to upgrade again on 05-2013 but depends on if we are still here after 12-21-2012

I was going with Android, but decided not to. I love Apple and the iPhone way too much. The iPhone is the best out there, IMO.

I don't ever foresee myself switching to Android just because the new iPhone isn't what I expected. Either I'll buy it, and enjoy it for what it is, or just won't upgrade.

I'm a "Mac." MBP, iPad, iPhone, AppleTV; and an Android phone just wouldn't fit into my lifestyle, nor do I have the urge to try and make it work.

I'm completely aware of what it is, that doesn't make it less annoying. That's why I asked you to put it into your signature.
