It's pretty funny to see both sides of the coin. On one side there's people that seem like they don't care if the phone has all the same parts or the latest specs, but if it doesn't look different they won't buy it. And you have the others who want the spec bump and doesn't really mind the phone looking the same cosmetically.

While I certainly won't mind and will most definitely welcome a bigger screen I'd much rather spec bumps. But if I can get the best of both worlds (and I don't see why Apple wouldn't make the screen just a tad bigger), why not?

But we'll all find out soon enough.

8:36pm Tuesday here, announcement is 6:00am Wednesday morning... Thinking if I should go to bed early and try to go to sleep fast so 6am comes 'faster' ;)

Getting excited, feels like Christmas eve - pity there's no live stream though.

P.S. My requests are at least 4" screen & to get rid of the glass back... I drop my phone quite a bit, and don't want to risk smashing it!

Curious to see if this thread will continue strong given what just was announced. I've updated my original post to reflect the changes.

Not to be rude, but you really like repeating the whole "iThings" bit. Regardless of what actual users tell you. It gets old.

Why not run along and play with your android phone or your windows phone or whatever phone suits YOUR preference. Why come here just to rile up trouble?

Lets see how Apple will deal with this http://ISSUE http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20110922PD207.html when customers starting ranting again...

I stated before in this thread: The iPhone5 was born dead!!! Samsung GSII is already the best Smartphone in everything...

That's maybe the reason why Mr. Jobs retired early: He couldn't see his (good) idea going down the hill...

Looks like Apple has aborted before born... I've predicted that in this thread on September 25th... :p

Have a good new fashion phone!!! LOL

I'm really on the fence here. The company I work for has deployed me an Epic 4G Touch since we don't deploy iOS devices. Ive used several Android devices before dating back to the original Droid. The E4GT is the first Android device I have used that I actually don't mind.

However, I still have that feeling of being "lost" when using the phone. I've invested so much into iTunes via the 3GS, my iPhone 4 before I transferred the line to my wife, the iPad and eventually the iPad 2. When using the Android device I can get on it and check my email, check my RSS feeds, and then I just lock it and move on.

When I would use my 3GS or my iPhone 4, I would do those things and then hit other apps like Flipboard. I would check out what was new on Cydia and then want to theme and tweak. I would then move on to checking out games Ive invested so much time in like We Rule and We Farm.

This may not seem like much, and sure I can set a lot of this up on the Android phone, but I still miss the simplicity and style of my iPhone. I can't help but wonder what the Nexus Prime will be like... but then I have to ask myself if I want to not only commit to the carrier for 2 years... but iOS or Android for 2 years.

Once you go widgets you can never go back!

I had widgets. I went back. Found them useless and boring after 2 days.

I had 2 android phones before I switched to the iPhone 4 (my first iPhone) and I will never go back. I remember downloading too many apps in the android market that didn't work right with my phone and then having to go back and request a refund. With the iPhone, I know 99.999% of the apps work properly with my phone, regardless of which model I have.

Also, the devices look sexier. So what if the design didn't change? I didn't buy my iPhone 4 for other people to like the look of, I bought it because I thought it was a sexy phone. Everyone else happens to agree. HAHA

Honestly, I'm not overreacting to the iPhone 4S announcement one way or another (this decision was probably made by Steve himself before he left; in fact, Steve's influence will probably be felt in Apple products for another 1-3 years).

But I'll be lying if I said I'm not really excited about what the Nexus Prime is going to be.

Not to nitpick but would you mind putting your 'Happy fashion :) Nexus S' stuff in your sig? It's pretty annoying to have it in there every time someone quotes you.

At least you could request a refund. I have a number of iPhone apps that I would have loved to have gotten refunds on, but that isn't an option. Androids app store allows refunds within 15 minutes of purchase. I wish Apple offered something similar.

Now that we know the next phone is a 4S. I will not be upgrading and am waiting for the Nexus Prime announcement next week. Depending on what is announced will make me decide whether I'll go android.
