2019 iMac 27, Loaded. Max power, still minimally servicable, and runs 32bit, 64bit apps, has APFS prior to Big Sewer, has useful ports, runs Win from XP to 10 and CAD systems, doens't conflict with Wacom drivers, large format imaging equipment, CNC machines or Moog Synths. It's the pinnacle of Apple computers. From there, they just chopped away functionality til there was nothing left but a really fast chip that doesn't work with anything.
Disagree on some points but agree on Big Sur being bad(Monterey is so more fun to use), death of 32bit apps. As for pinnacale its a matter of opinion.

The ports is not an issue anymore, the Mac Studio has more ports and the ports are more modern than the iMac 2019 if ports are a must for a user. The Studio also supports 1 extra external monitor.

I definitely agree on native Windows compatiblity, this is not possible on M1 Macs.

M1's work wonderfully on video and coding work and some 3D but audio needs some more time.

If I could only have one apple product it would be my MacBook Air

It holds much more capabilities than my iPhone

Phones also ruin my mind for some reason haha (stress, social media, shopping)

Fun hypothetical. I’m assuming I can own any number of devices from other companies besides Apple.

If it was just about a lone device preference based on UX, I suppose it would just be the device I use the most, which these days would probably be my iPad mini.

But I use my laptop for work, and I feel I am able to work most efficiently on macOS, so I would take a Mac laptop over an iPad mini.

But in the end, I would probably have to choose an iPhone, and the reason is simply privacy. Privacy is more important to me than a little gain in efficiency. And with a smartphone being IMO the biggest liability for data-theft (or mining), and Apple being the most privacy-focused smartphone maker (as far as I know), I’d have to go with iPhone.

And that's why Mac will never be a gaming platform.

Even people who buy Apple - only 12% chose a Mac Desktop.

(This isn't a complaint. Mac has never been "for games". Just reminded of the post I read yesterday...)

I view Android as being a reasonable iPhone alternative, whereas Windows laptops are all fairly poor compared to MacBooks - even if the hardware is up to scratch it's ruined by Windows being so kludgy.

iPad. Everything else Apple does is eclipsed by its competitors, but the iPad is still the best tablet to use for watching movies on an airplane.

I'm honestly surprised iPhone is winning. I can only conclude many here haven't actually used a Galaxy S in the past few years. They're very, very competitive with the iPhone, a little better at some things, a little worse at others. Other than just personal preference, you're really not missing anything using one over the other. They're basically fungible.

As many know here I switch tech a lot.. so losing all my Apple devices wouldn’t be the end of the world however one device that has been exclusively Apple for me for a long time is a macOS based device.

So I’ll keep my MacBooks over the rest. The Apple Watch is a close second.

This is a tough call. I use my iPad as my sole replacement to the computer but my iPhone was the gateway to it all. Ugh, I guess I would have to say keep my iPhone as my sole Apple device. I would be too sad without it.

I bought the S22 Plus and promptly returned it after 2 days. I also tried the Fold 3. I just can not get on board with Android. More power to anyone that prefers it and I am glad they are using what they like. iPhone for me is just familiar. I need certain things to be in order and iOS does not change much year over year.

MacBook Pro for me. I don't mind Android so much, I don't use my iPad as often as I should, and I can live without my AirPods but MacBook Pro hardware + macOS > any Windows/Chrome OS/Linux laptop for me.

You did not really give Android a proper transition period. Nothing wrong with you preferring iOS.

for me its pretty easy, i never used mac due to gaming, watch meh, ipad can do everything a iphone can do and more much better but be the daily phone, so its easy for me to replace everything with alternatives except the iPad, the replacement for that is the hardest to do.

Will iPod Touch ever get even a single vote?

Might as well have included the polishing cloth! (Useful for cleaning your glasses, even if you don't own any other Apple gear.)

Apple Pencil!!! I’m never sure when its working, but i sure know when its lost(because i can’t find it).

At the end, and IMHO (with all the respects to the OP) ... watching the results I think this poll is going more towards what kind of "computing unit" do you need every day to accomplish your tasks, cause you must choose just one, so more focused into "mobile device" or "computer device", and in the case of Apple, this can be even more reduced to iOS/iPadOS vs MacOS, so which one of these two OS's you use the most and/or which one you can't give up to use.

Funny story:
- sum "Mac Desktop"+"Mac Laptop" and they're now 171
- sum "iPhone"+"iPad" and they're now 228

From 415 voters it's seems clear most ppl is deciding between these "two" options, and what the tech gurus said years ago it seems more than plausible, we're moving towards a world where the ones we need to use traditional computers to work/enjoy, it's gonna be reduced more and more, but the numbers are still strong on an approx 60% mobile/40% computer basis as seen from the results.

What a time to be alive :)

It’s broken down to consumption and creation. We have reached the point where even cheap devices are really good consumption devices, and are becoming better creation devices with every generation.

We reached this point because of specialized silicon, and the silicon options have gotten so good: it is actually cheaper to produce a full system chip, than to produce a lesser performing chip without the things you don’t need.

Basically, we are a few years away from your light switch getting a SOC faster than most computers available today, not because we are trying to have super powered light switches, but because, it’s cheaper. Producing a single SOC design that fits all needs, for all electronic goals is ultimately the path we are left with in the next decade.
