WP - Android lags so much - even on their newest device - I had the Galaxy S2 for a bit and I hated it. Same with their tablets.
I tried the Galaxy Nexus and it still lags. I don't know how people can use an Android tablet as well. Just try and play a Youtube video using each of the dedicated apps on the iPad and Transformer Prime. Even though Google owns Youtube, you can fire up videos faster on the iPad than on an Android tablet.

Definitely would go WP7 with the new Nokia phone! Anyone have any idea how much it will be no contract? Maybe I'll have a second phone to play with lol

Notifications on WP7 aren't as good as android and iOS. Some things like email don't give a notification at the top. The notifications that do appear at the top stay for four seconds and then disappear. The lockscreen does show the number of emails, texts, missed calls and such. I live with it, but this is an area that needs refining.

I had a droid and was planning on getting an iPhone when I upgraded. The 4S hadn't been announced yet, so I took a chance on WP7. I'm very pleased with my choice. Granted it's not perfect, but it works well. A year from now my choice might be different, but right now it's Windows Phone for me.

I would choose Nokia Lumia 800 (nice design and Nokia Drive). I like the Metro interface and WP7 is smooth.

I don't know if you have ever used YouTube on iPad but it's trashhhhhh! Android has a much better implementation! It's not smooth on iOS and the video loads slow!

I know the Youtube app is better on any Android tablet featurewise, but what I'm saying is that I can start videos faster on the iPad app than with any Android tablet I've used.

Interesting. I have the complete opposite experience. I thought the Youtube app on my 3GS was considerably more superior than the youtube app on my Galaxy SII. The SII version is buggy and won't let me play the video's audio in the background. I was (and still am) shocked, especially since Youtube is owned by Google and all now....

Why choose just one? ;)
I have a 3GS, Motorola Atrix and a Samsung Focus.
I SIM swap all the time. My iPhone gets the least amount of use and the Focus and Atrix are pretty much evenly split on usage.
Sharing music between all three devices is a piece of cake and every app that I 'need' is available on all three platforms.

I have no particular love for any one of them as each offers their own unique experience.
I love technology and pay no loyalty to any one company.

As my sig states... I use everything.

That's really hard ... I like them both.

But I'll go with Android. More features. Some things I actually like about Android itself. I mean if they had a really nice android like the galaxy Nexus on AT&T, I might have bought that over my 4S.

I'm happy with my 4S. Very happy with it. But impressed? not really.

If only more people on Macrumors understood this simple, logical concept, rather than act as if consumer electronics were comparable to religions, nationalism, etc.

Android. I like the new lumia 900 and all, but I don't really have tons of hope for WP7, and I'm not sure it's what I want for a phone platform anyway.

Yup, same here except different phones with the exception of the Focus.

iPhone 4 (internet phone) - Only use it to text my family in the U.S and as the main mobile browser. Only one that I can use Talkatone. Has the strongest Wi-Fi range of the four phones I have and still has the best battery life even if it is getting slightly weaker after all the charges.

Focus (main phone) - Love the interface the best. One of the fastest and smoothest. This one is the headturner here in the Philippines.

Nexus One (second line) - Great secondary phone and has the second best Wi-Fi range slightly surpassing the Focus.

iPhone (third line) - Like the first Nexus, this one is a collector's item. Has the weakest hardware and Wi-Fi range, but still a solid phone and the best one to hold up from 2007.

I need alot of phones because the PI is known to steal phones. I have THREE domestic lines and the iPhone 4 can still be used as the U.S. phone. Talkatone is even better than Magic Jack! And instead of getting dual SIM phones, I just have different lines because I enjoy using different phones so much. My next phone is probably a Tizen. I've owned 16 phones in my lifetime not including the second ones I got from the same model, and my fav is still the iP4 followed by the Focus, then N1, and then iPhone 2G. I basically own my Top 4 favs.

I guess you can say we are just MULTI-platform users the same way people have a Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. Using Apple, Google, and Microsoft is not a bad thing. They all can co-exist the same way people can own Macs and PC's. What matters most is what makes you happy. I happen to be happy with ALL of them. Who cares about loyalty? If people want to treat this like sports where you root for favs and team up, so be it. But I could care less which one is better when they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

What is the battery life on the windows phone? I know it is crap on android, so if it is better on windows that is the one I would go with.

To me it doesn't matter how great the OS is, if I can't go more then 8 hours without a charge. I haven't found a android phone that can do that yet, and I have tried.

It's comparable to iOS and depends on the device you are using. I'd wait for the Lumia 900 if I were you because that's going to be the Nexus of Windows Phones here in the US.

Depends on which Android phone you're talking about. Some are better than others.
My Atrix can go for about a day and a half before I would need to charge it under my normal usage.
It has fantastic power management capabilities.

My Focus is about the same. I've gone as long as two full days between charges with what I would consider normal use.
I use about 3-4 hours a day of data use. The rest is calls and texting.

Well I went from iPhone ---> Android --> Windows Phone and honestly I like WP7 the most. Its very smooth, the live tiles are lovely as your whole start screen becomes a notification area.I love the ZunePass integration for unlimited music and xbox live stuff is well done.

It varies quite a bit between phone. Put an extended battery in even an android phone and you can get pretty impressive battery life.

I believe the htc rezound has a 3000 mah battery available for it. That's more then double the battery size of our iPhones. (I think, isn't it 14xx mah or something?)

It all depends on usage. I get near identical amount of time from my iPhone compared to android phones I have. It seems my brother gets better then me (since he uses his phone more) with his razr then I do. I contribute a lot of that to the smart actions app.

I have been wanting to try a Windows Phone, so for that one and only reason I would go with that. Have been using Android for a while alongside iOS and I like them both equally. Each has its own strong suites. iOS is certainly smoother (for the most part), but I fail to see why that matters SOOOO much to people. Beauty is slightly diminished, but It's not like functionality is diminished.

As people say on this forum so often, it gives them a warm and fuzzy feeling. Personally I don't mention that in a android iOS debate because it's so irrelevant I'm afraid someone would call me out on it.

Believe me, I wish iOS were as functional as Android, but when you have owned both and you have to deal with the app freezes, crashes, and overall lagginess of Android, you realize that iOS is just an overall smoother, more stable experience. For most people, reliability and ease of use counts more than being able to add widgets or run Nintendo emulators.

Ideally, all of us should be using Android if it were just about functionality, but the only factor that determines whether you make the jump to Android or not is whether iOS does everything you need it to and for me, it does, so I don't bother going to Android.

Err... can;t do this in iOS either, unless you are installing some sort of tweak that I am unaware of. Definitely not native.
