iPod touch iJailBreak Released!

Someone has started and finished in this thread already. I quit it because it was taking way to long. And now my ipod is stuck on the apple logo. It will turn off and then back on to the apple logo.

What should I do?

Hmm... Open Terminal, and do sudo mkdir /opt/local, then sudo mkdir /opt/local/lib, then sudo cp /Applications/iJailBreak/resources/readline/libreadline.5.2.dylib /opt/local/lib/

That may give some errors, but it'll probably work... Once you've done that run the jailbreak again.
 
I'll have to give it a try when I get home tonight. I'd love to have a mail, chat and calandar you can edit but I'm so scared of trying to jailbreak it...I'm not so good at these sort of things :eek:

Connect your iPod and hold down the SLEEP/WAKE and HOME buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Once it does, release the SLEEP/WAKE button but continue to hold the HOME button in. After a short while, iTunes will notify you that the iPod has entered recovery mode and can now be restored. Accept it, and click Restore.

Follow the instructions above to restore, then try again...
 
Now that was the painless way I've been looking for, only problem is my dock is now at the top of the screen...
 
I keep getting the

even after putting into applications folder twice. I downloaded the updated ijailbreak zip file too. Help please. thanks
 
When I clicked "jailbreak" it gave me a script error, and now it has been "Installing iPhuc and readline" for about 20 minutes. Is this normal?
 
Please get a PPC version out soon!

ok, now on for the dumb question. I decided to get an iPod Touch this week. What does jailbreak do or what can I do with the Touch once I jailbreak it?

For the longest time I thought jailbreak was a game. :eek:

Please post the script error... This is not normal at all (when you get a script error, it didn't work no matter what...)
 
after i crash safari, and click ok, i get this error:

sh: line 1: ./iphuc: cannot execute binary file (126)
 
well, i went to the safari url, connected, and got some sort of error, couldnt read it because it dissappeared. it is now jailbreaking, whas it a real error? i guess ill let it jailbreak for 15 minutes and see if it does anything..

Same here, except I'm 16 :p

BTW, does this also installs Installer.app/Trip1PogoStick on on the touch or do I have to do it manually? (Sorry I haven't got my touch yet - it's supposed to arrive by Tuesday:eek:)

I want to load a new summerboard and I have NO idea how, lol. Ive installed it on my ipod, ive downloaded the new theme. Can someone tell me what I should do now? I have to get it on the ipod

Try searching the forums. There are countless posts on this and there's no reason to hijack a thread.
