Hi everyone thanks for all of the replys, I did read every one one of them.
As the vast majority of people recommended the 12.9 that's exactly what I went for.
I've already adjusted to the larger screen size and believe I've absolutely made the right decision.
So I'm now the proud owner of a new iPad Pro 12.9 in Space Grey

Wonderful, enjoy!

Apple and Microsoft quality control is leagues apart! I’ve been lured by various surface pro devices over the years (3-4 devices) and each one has had pretty severe hardware and software issues. All of the, end up being more hassle than they’re worth and I’d get a Dell 1000x over another Microsoft device if I needed windows. SP is also a horrendous tablet now that Windows 10 has stripped all the tablet UI from the old Windows 8.

I replaced my Dell XPS-13 with QHD+ display with a 16GB i7 SP7 and have been extremely happy with it.

No it’s just an opinion. To some the size matters more than others. Drama is certainly to be found on either side of this personal preference only discussion.
If you think that "..then it's time to seek out a personal trainer for some physical conditioning work" is just an opinion and not a foolish comment then you have strange standards.

As a response to calling 200 gramm a “massive” difference- probably a valid comment. But then again, all personal preference. I have both screen sizes at home and could work with either one.

I'm legit curious to know what SP users think of the product.
I have a surface pro and an iPad Pro … the surface is obviously used for different reasons … it’s windows lol

edit: it’s definitely not a tablet … tablet mode is silly. I rarely use the touchscreen. I mainly use it for windows only applications … EvoScan, uTorrent, etc. I do love that the SP has a headphone jack and an expandable micro sd card. That being said I use my iPad Pro for most of my productivity and entertainment… I have the keyboard folio but I am not of fan of using the mouse with it … these two machines are totally different.

edit 2: and you best believe I remap the control key to the alt key on all of my windows machines … Apple Command for life !

It comes down to your use, and how you’ll use it most. I’m fortunate to have 3 iPads which cover all my uses -12.9, 10.5, Mini. If I could only have two it would be the 12.9 which is perfect for nearly everything at home, and the Mini which is great for mobility. If I could only have one it would be the 11inch … I really wouldn’t put a 12.9 in my shoulder bag and take it everywhere, which I do with the mini and sometimes the 10.5. But I would really miss the 12.9, perfect for work and play, watching things, writing, doing art, making music, for me it is the perfect size, apart from portability.
