I’ve had both types of case with the iPhone 12 and a MagSafe case works way betterDoes a case have to have MagSafe in it to make MagSafe work? i.e would a thin case with out it still work? I don't want to choose a case and then find out the any MagSafe devices I order do not work
If you‘re placing your iPhone flat down on a MagSafe charger it will work fine without a MagSafe case. The charger might gently cling to the case and charge too. If you plan to mount the phone on a MagSafe car charger or upright charger you’re best going with an Apple MagSafe case or a 3rd party magnet case (one with a ring built in).
Loads of 3rd party cases support this like ESR, Spigen, elago etc
