I couldn't disagree more!
It feels light to me and browsing is a breeze it seems to lay easier on my lap. This iPad is extremely immersive
I am absolutely loving my new iPad Pro. It is so light weight, not difficult to use. I am a teacher, and bring mine to school with me. I wish my principal would get one for every teacher. I prefer mine over the little one they did get us.

The unique aspect of many Apple enthusiasts is they tend to be vain. Instead of mentioning how useful an Apple product is, they're more concerned about boosting their self esteem by being seen with something cool.

Looks are very important and that's how Apple gets them to pay high prices. With their identity attached to their things they will pay whatever Apple wants them to pay. Apple is very clever.

This is absurd. I live in San Francisco and nearly every person I come across out in the city has Apple products (not one friend or one coworker has a phone other than an iphone). No one I know, myself included, is so insecure that they have to rely on a product to boost their self esteem. I buy Apple products because I believe them to be the best designed products on the market, they do everything I require of them better than anyone else, they are stable and not buggy, I appreciate the constant updates, and I believe they have the best customer service of any tech company. It has nothing to do with status. Anyone who needs a product to boost their ego or feels inadequate because they don’t have said product is a loser.

I like Apple products because they have been really good and worked longer than other brands I have used. I do not get Apple products for my self esteem, most people I am around, don’t care or notice what kind of phone or mobile device I have. Don’t lump everyone into a category, you might find yourself lumped in one someday.

Exactly. We do because we are obviously more interested than the average person.

I would suggest doing some historical post research on these forums. You would be surprised. Keep in mind not everyone is a rational adult or even a rational kid. I remember reading comments from someone a while back who claimed they were forced to buy a new iPhone due to peer pressure. They felt they had to get it to be with the "in" crowd. I read about someone who said they won't date anyone who does not text with a blue bubble (Meaning they use iMessage and Apple products). I read about people claiming anyone using a phone with a bezel is a loser, very condescending and judgmental. I read about how Apple products are "luxury" products and insinuating that if you can't afford it maybe you should go elsewhere. The idea of value for one's money completely alluded these people.

It really can be a status thing for some. Was surprising to me. I had no idea people get so much of their identity from an electronic product.

I personally like the new iPad. Sorry to hear some are returning them. I stopped buying them after the iPad 4 LTE. Between my laptop, phone, and watch, an iPad was becoming redundant for me.

Who knows maybe I will revisit it again next year. I would prefer a smaller version for portability.

I have the exactly the same iPad. I got it at launch and had it swapped out after a couple of years when the home button started to fail. So, I have been using that model for six years. It has been one of the most useful items that I have ever owned. I now also have other Apple products.

I was eagerly watching the latest launch and waiting to buy. However, when I went into the store to see it for myself, I was underwhelmed. I explained to my wife that there were smaller bezels and face ID and as I was doing that, I was also thinking, gee whiz. I felt stupid talking up, basically, nothing of real benefit to me.

Yes, it is faster and has new features, but for me and most other people, even after six years, there isn't a compelling argument to replace a perfectly good iPad with a new 'Pro' mode.

this is why I never run down any purchase I make with my wife...she'll just shrug her shoulders if it's nothing to do with make up or bags...

I will be returning my iPad pro. I find using it casually is a frustrating experience. It's too big and heavy for enjoying content comfortably. The size is really awkward to hold or sit it in my lap. As for it replacing my laptop, I had high hopes there too. I know it's still iOS and limited. I guess I was hoping for some tweaks to utilize the screen real estate better, but it doesn't. A lot of wasted screen space. Furthermore, iOS is still too simple and bare to function and multitask like a laptop. Probably by iOS 11 they'll have this figured out. The multitasking albeit a step in the right direction, is still somewhat of a joke. Also, the tracking (with my finger) didn't feel hardly at all improved. (Does the Pencil improve tracking?) I tried it on my iPad Air 2 and maybe the the iPP had the slightest bit better tracking, but it still lags quite a bit.

Sad. I really thought I'd love it. Maybe in a few years when iOS matures and the iPP is thinner and lighter.

Not saying there isn't great use for many people with it. This is just my opinion and thought it might help anyone on the fence.
Me too! I kept my pro 11 for a week and I gave back to BB and bought (again) a mini 4. I can hold with one hand, easily put in shoulder bag (without bending), and still enjoy more and bigger content than that on my iphone XS. Love my mini!

Do you meant 11 or 12.9, 12.9 is big and uncomfortable but 11 is a very decent size. I guess 10.5 would fit best for you.

I am returning mine right now. Apparently on mobile it says that I am entitled to holiday return but on desktop it says I need to do it tonight (even though I bought accessories on the same day and I could return these tomorrow). I decided against taking chances and returning now.

However, this does not mean I have anything against the iPad Pro 2018. As per usual, we'll see ;)

Up until about the iPhone 5/6, the iPhone was always DEFINITELY a status symbol on college campuses and such. With the introduction of the X/XS/Max, that status symbol is coming back around because apple is creating new tiers of "budget" and "premium flagships". If you missed it the first time, you'll notice it this time as you seem to be doing.

I bought the new iPad and I absolutely love it! However, without the pencil, it really doesn’t function any differently than my mini. I might end up buying the pencil next week to see if it does improve my experience as a justification. But my real issue is just the price point. That additional $900 impulse buy is my only hesitation with this device. I might return it and end up buying used around the spring, hoping for a more reasonable price point.

I noticed it because of comments on this forum. I have no interest and it does not concern me. I do not get my identity from an electronic device. It was more like a trivia thing.

That may be, but I still think people like that are in the vast minority. What kind of loser do you have to be to think a product makes or breaks you or someone else? I wouldn’t be friends or date anyone like that. I would probably mock and insult them, truth be told.
