1 - true
2 - false from a marketing standpoint - plus a cooler chip in a slim case is always a positive
3 - yes i think they are still working on the implementation of the chip into their imac design. There are alot of things that come into a product revision or development. Your not going to see a totally different CPU type all of a sudden. It is going to be rolled out with more substantial changes than what makes sense at this given timeframe for apple.
lol Common sense just seems to escape some speculators out there
well well well... my common sense seems to tell me a 1066MHz FSB and 3.06GHz is montevina....
*SNAP!*
your common sense is wrong.
If it's missing the Intel PRO/Wireless chip it's not a Centrino (2) computer but it still uses the same Intel north- and southbridge and processor.your common sense is wrong. its not quite the full montevina chipset, as sped described before:

To be accurate, the computer needs to use several internal components to technically have a Santa Rosa chipset. Currently Apple does not use all of these products - most notably the wifi chip.
What I'm saying is, Apple will not really use Montevina because they don't really use Santa Rosa now. As a result, it is possible that Apple could release new Penryn processors with a 1066 bus.
According to wiki, these processors will be available in May."
Wait, weren't you the guy who was so sure the iMac release wasn't going to come until WWDC at the earliest?
I was sure that if apple was going to use the montevina chipset in the iMac that we wouldn't see a new one until WWDC. however, 3 days ago I changed my stance when SPED correctly predicted that apple could get its hands on a penryn chip with a 1066 fsb that differs from the montevina platform.
The common sense in this thread had been that apple would use currently available penryn chips (ala whats in the macbook and MBP right now) or wait for the montevina platform.
lmao what a weirdo.. many times you said there wouldnt be an upgrade and now you backpedal

Same screen in the 20" and it's too soon to tell.Does anyone know if Apple stopped putting TN panels in the 20" iMacs and went back to IPS panels like they have in the 24" models?
And, is there any indicator (probably too son to tell) problems causing the numerous screen problems of the previous aluminum iMacs have been eliminated?
secondly, i never said that there wouldn't be an update.
