Texas launch day 10 core/64Gb/2TB/ Vega 64 with trackpad arrived this morning at 11am. About 2 hours and 45 minutes left of a time machine restore off my old machine before I can see what speed improvements this has to offer. I did like the black stickers, that was unexpected and had the restore not taken so long I probably would have never explored that little box either.

Mine is now showing a second departure scan at Cologne after the first one a whole day ago where nothing happened (so it's been there for two and a half days). However, I can now see two flights out of Cologne in the air, one for East Midlands and one for London Stansted, so I'm much more optimistic that it is now actually moving at last! It's still going to be a rush though as both flights look to be about an hour or so from being on the ground, so they'll have to get a move on to clear it through, get to the local depot and make the delivery today. Tracking is still showing today for delivery though, so fingers crossed (for mine and the other UK ones that were in Cologne).

I like the black stickers too. But mine are from the 2013 Mac Pro, which gives me something to look at while I wait for the new ones to arrive with the iMac Pro!

Yeah mine has just left Cologne for the second time too! Fingers crossed.

The Stansted flight just coasted in south of Harwich and the EMA flight is over Wellingborough, so not long to go now!
[doublepost=1514341198][/doublepost]Both flights are on the ground. Now comes the nail-biting wait to see whether an arrival scan eventually appears, or it turns out that my package is still sitting on the runway in Cologne!
[doublepost=1514343450][/doublepost]02:19 - Arrival scan at East Midlands Airport (well, technically at Castle Donnington but that's close enough for me). Woohoo! Looks like delivery could actually be on for today so I'd better go and get some rest to make sure I don't sleep through the ringing doorbell later.
:)

I got my iMac Pro 3 pm CST 12/26 in South Louisiana. 10 core, 64GB, 2TB, Vega 64. trackpad
Loading software now. Seems very quick at least at that.

Ordered on 12/14/17 early morning.

Sydney, Australia checking in. Arrived safely and everything working.

Feel as if I've already had it for 4 days though, having been reading the various threads over Christmas. Bit of an anticlimax actually getting mine.

Funny how all the post-Christmas orders seem to be arriving at almost exactly the same time, even though locally it's Dec 27, but Dec 26 in the US. We had Boxing Day (a public holiday, no couriers) on the 26th, so the normal advantage of being in an Apple-first time zone was negated.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARG!

"Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery. / Your delivery has been rescheduled for the next business day."

While it sat motionless for long periods at various places on route the weather's been fine here. Today, at around the time it arrived at East Midlands Airport that part of the country had its first (and quite possibly only) significant snowfall of the winter and I've just been watching the TV news showing how bad the roads are with some people getting stuck. ****** typical!

I checked the tracking again half expecting it to say there would be a delay, but it's still so frustrating! Now my life is on hold for a day, or maybe I should say at least a day - it has snowed here too but it's all forecast to stop during today and it's warm enough that it should melt so fingers crossed for delivery tomorrow. Let's hope so, as I'm not meant to be at home the day after that...

I'm sorry to hear that, it'll definitely be worth getting.

Despite my disappointment I'm still pleased for you that yours arrived. So long as you don't mention the Ashes, or the fact that it's probably lovely and warm there...
:D

Thanks, I'm sure it will! Oh well, now I have time to do even more preparation for its arrival, so there's always a bright side.

That’s a nightmare! I can imagine the disappointment I was sure yesterday mine was stuck is Kazakhstan - How bad is the snow down here? We’ve got a dusting of snow up north too but that’s all it is.

mine was scanned at 4am in castle donnington too, and has been scanned in Sedgefield at about 7am as out for delivery (sedgefield is only about 20 miles away but I suspect delivery will be towards the end of the day)

We had enough snow here to cover the ground but not a huge amount. I haven't been out yet but from what I can see it looks like the roads are ok as it has mostly melted where it was on tarmac. The bigger issue in this area might be flooding as there are flood warnings out due to heavy rain / melting snow, and the full width of our road is under water for about 10m where it joins the main road. Overall though it should be passable, unlike the area around EMA where I see the runway was closed for a period overnight due to the snow, so it's probably lucky that any UPS flights got in at all.

Glad to hear yours is out for delivery, and I hope it gets through ok which it sounds like it will. Hmmm, Sedgefield - I wonder why that constituency name rings a bell...

Same boat as you :-( And it's sitting there in Southampton, only 12 miles away. Do UPS allow you to go and pick up?

Well, mine's now at the Southampton depot, which annoyingly means it probably passed within 2 or 3 miles of my house on the way down the A34! Waiting to see whether they try to get it delivered today after all, which maybe could happen if they're trying to catch up, or failing that I might call them this afternoon and go collect it if possible.

Just saw your post after I posted! I have a food delivery coming around lunchtime so I can't go anywhere till that's been, but if the tracking hasn't updated by then to say UPS are delivering today I'll give them a call and see whether I can collect. I'm pretty sure I have collected from their Southampton depot before, you just need one or two forms of ID including something with an address and a photo IIRC, but they'll obviously tell you that anyway. Please let me know what the result is if you call them before I do.

I've got to got to drop my parents off at the airport at 4 anyway so might go after that if possible. There's hardly any snow anyway, seems an over-reaction. Mind you, first white stuff all year and it has to happen this morning - ha ha!

I know, half an inch of snow and the world comes to an end! I'd call them well before you go if you want to try collection, as I've just checked and I think their Southampton depot is actually the one in Eastleigh, which I have been to before several times. That's showing closing time today as 16:30 would you believe! So maybe just a teeny bit tight to get there after being at the airport at 16:00, you'd have to go before the airport if the closing time is right.

ISTR the last time I had to call UPS it was a bit of a nightmare getting through to someone who could actually confirm that the package was there as it went to a national number initially and they then had to call the local depot for you, they didn't even seem to be sure which depot the package would be at and when they eventually tried Eastleigh they couldn't get an answer! Hopefully they're a bit more connected up by now, but who knows? I imagine it will be chaos today after the disruption.

I know, my wife is Canadian and still laughs re the snow! They're going to call me back within an hour allegedly. Not the end of the world but I'd promised to take my boy out tomorrow to see Star Wars and don't want to spend another day hanging about the house. Will let you know how I get on.

Hopefully one way or another you can get it today!! I expect mine is somewhere near the end of whatever route they will take - no sign of it so far

Like kingjames1970, I'm also now waiting for a call back from UPS about collecting from the Southampton depot today, as neither of us is far away from it and the roads don't seem to be too bad. Let's hope they come back with the right answer and all of us will be happy by the end of the day!
[doublepost=1514376724][/doublepost]Had the call back from UPS and it's a go, so I'll be off soon to collect it - whoopee!

Hi guys. Exciting to read about your arrivals. Congrats. What will you be using it for? Why did you go PRO over top end iMac? I'm asking as I can´t decide. I will use it mainly for editing (6K and 8K material from my Red camera). The Pro is a bit of a stretch financially, and I prefer to spend my money on camera gear, not computers. As its usually someone else editing what I shoot

I couldn’t justify it for personal use either, what got me into macs was the hardware - it’s better and just lasts so much better than the high end Dell / HP laptops so I started getting MacBook Pros and never looked back - I have a new fully maxed out 2016 tbMP but wanted more power and ram for some new software I have to use in a VM. The other 4 are still in full use within the company having been passed down, oldest one is 5 years old and looks like new!
The iMac pro is to help speed up my workflow in the office - I’ll be testing VM speeds later !!

It’s just arrived! Unboxing at the moment but looks great so far...I’ll send a pic later to show how it looks with the 2 5k monitors at the side
Nothing can prepare you for how cool it looks! £7k well spent. Ha ha. Will put it through it's paces later on, too much else on today but great I have it now and I can stop being OCD on tracking sites.

Well... looks like mine got held up in Shanghai for 5 days waiting to clear customs. It had been scheduled for 12/28/17 delivery to Tennessee, but that definitely ain't happening now. Still hoping for about New Years

Anybody else get stuck? Just me?
