iMac shipping status?

So close! Stopped obsessively tracking it online and now obsessively glancing at my front door.

Ordered on the 13th, so 15 days to get a 24" customized with a 500gb hard drive sent to Australia.

I ordered 24" 2.4 with wired keyboard/mouse on August 19th

my estimates were shipped aug 27-29, recieved aug 29 - sep 5

if its in china, it should be long shipped out once I wake up, given its 10 am there. i might even get it wednesday, but I'm thinking thursday.

Recieved an email from them sunday saying they needed to confirm some of my credit card information.

I called them earlier today (Monday) and all they wanted to do was confirm my address

I'm gutted. I ordered mine a few days before you and the absolutely earliest it will get here is September the 5th! Not even ordered a fancy one, just the bog standard 24 incher!!

What makes it worse is the shipping time on the website has gone down to 5-7 days too...seems like I've been waiting forever!
 
Grrr... I had my 20" 2.4ghz iMac on preorder through Best Buy Canada's online store (I chose them because I got $50 off for preorder, and 10% off with 3 months to pay for using their credit card).

Anyways... ordered Aug 15th... said it was supposed to ship today, the 28th. Now my order says out of stock. BLAH!
 
Crap. My 2.8 ghz is still "not yet shipped" and others who ordered after me or same time already have theirs on the way. :(

Looks like the chances of my getting the 2.8 by or on the weekend are getting less and less. I still have the 2.4 ghz on order with Amazon, but the only way I can get it prior to the weekend is upgrade my shipping...fine, but I keep getting an error every time I try. Sent email to Amazon CS-maybe they will offer to upgrade for free for my troubles (they've done it before...their customer service is top notch). I noticed that they've already sold out of the ones (24" iMacs) they got in yesterday!

So, I guess the race is on...I've just about decided whichever ships first is the keeper-even though I would still prefer the 2.8 model. This waiting is old.

You are so impatient lol!

Having 2 iMacs on order... I am going to laugh when the both end up shipping at the same time, and you have to fork over the money for return shipping...

You should of just waited for the 2.8..

Do you need it that bad that you cant wait a couple of extra days. Whats a few days compared to the few years your going to have it?

Actually, I do...I have work waiting and really could use the long weekend to get a lot done.

I can refuse delivery with Amazon if it's too late to cancel and there is no shipping charge involved on my part. As far as Apple goes, if they will just ship it, I'll keep it. Bottom line is I need this machine asap, so I'm willing to gamble a little.

FedEx has finally updated with a delivery estimate of this Thursday, the 30th.

8/21: iPod delivered.
8/26: iMac prepared for shipment.
8/27: iMac shipped.
8/30: iMac estimated delivery (China to Santa Barbara, CA).


I'm ready... Maybe I should start clearing off my desk, haha.

Mine is being delivered on the 30th as well but is that Shanghai time? Because that would then be the 29th to us (Wednesday)?

I've had enough of this sh*t! I ordered mine on the flippin' 17th of August and it's not even shipped yet!! I've only ordered the bog standard 24 inch 2.4ghz too!! Very p*ssed off with waiting!

That's exactly the setup I ordered, too, on the 17th. You ordered on the 14th... That means mine should ship on... the 31st... sigh. I was hoping to get it before the long weekend. Oh well.

Originally I had ordered on the 10th, cancelled the order on the 15th and then reordered without the BT KB. So my order actually goes back to the 10th as per my invoice that Apple sent me when the item shipped. So I assume they pushed my order as a result of the first order date.

I am getting impatient now ordered on ther 16th the 24" version and am still awaiting shipment. It has actually gone beyond the estimated shipping time now.

I would definitely call Apple and see if they will compensate you for this...they're pretty good about that.

My 2.8 order placed on 8/18 is still "not yet shipped"...no change in status what-so-ever. Still scheduled to ship out today or tomorrow. Meanwhile, I was finally able to bump up my shipping with the 2.4 I ordered from Amazon and it can be here by Friday. I think if my 2.8 hasn't progressed by tonight, I'm going to cancel it and just max out the RAM on the 2.4. At least I'll have my new iMac before the weekend and be done with it! That's my decision at the moment, anyway....
 
who else finds themselves constantly checking their order status to see it if moves to 'ready to be shipped'.... or is it just me

Nah. It was a standard 2.4Ghz 20" except with a 500GB Hard Drive. I'm guessing it won't take too long. My friend who works at the Regent Street Apple store (Who I was originally going to buy from, until recently) said that that's the model they had the most of in stock, so I think my order should be ok based on that information...

Just checking my order status again, though. (I think I'm obsessed. First Mac, you see. Been waiting 9 months)
