The only difference in a site charging you $1.99 or $100 is the price. They both unlock the same way. I would rather have the extra $98 in my wallet.

There is no issue with unlocking on 6.0-6.1.4.

Thanks I've paid 1.99 multiple times and someone told me no there is an issue with 6.0+ I said no he insisted... I told him as long as it's ATT you are fine lol, I didn't bother telling him the site he would be one of those who would charge $100 what a rip off , some are so greedy........

there is a certain site that charges 100+ but they seem to unlock a variety of phones with different carriers , I had no idea you can unlock verizon 4/4S but for international use only

Thanks again :)

Thanks for the reply

No more unlocks...?

I own an AT&T iPhone 5, Model A1428 that I purchased on Day One of release, on contract with AT&T. I've tried ReleaseMyCode.com and UnlockFusion.net, and both have refunded my money claiming they can't unlock my phone. I've given them the correct IMEI, and even restored my phone's firmware from iTunes with the latest carrier settings to make sure it was a clean slate. It has never left my sight since purchase (not stolen/lost).

Any ideas why nobody can unlock my phone? I mean, it's nice they're giving me my money back and all, but none of them will give me an explanation as to why they can't unlock it.

Anyone here tried unlocking their AT&T iPhone 5 in the past few days? When did you buy it? Did you have any success with the procedure?

EDIT: Solved. My phone is locked via Apple, NOT by AT&T. It looks like a swap unit, hence why nobody can unlock it. Heading to the Genius Bar today for assistance/explanation.

Unlock from Swiftunlock without an "invalid SIM"?

I purchased and received confirmation email of the Swiftunlock.com unlock for an AT&T iPhone 5.

Their directions say to use an "invalid SIM" (e.g., from T-Mobile or another non-AT&T company). I don't have easy access to an "invalid SIM."

Is it still possible to unlock my iPhone by doing a backup and restore while keeping the AT&T SIM card in the phone?

Yes. You should see the unlock message when your phone is activated.

Is it possible to unlock with my att sim card that is now not in service? Since thats technically, "invalid"? Or do i need to get a tmobile sim that is activated to unlock.

I plan on buying a tmobile iphone 5s when it comes out but i need to know the quickest way to unlock it i can't wait 60 days for an unlock

Why are you buying something that no one knows if it can be unlocked? Or even if a 5S exists.

I understand that nobody knows about it But theoretically if it ends up being basically the same as the 5 like how the 4s was what would be the best way to get it unlocked quick

Anyone who answers that is likely to get into trouble when it turns our to have very different security.
I really think you should wait and see.

Chronic Unlocks did it for 140.00 but I did it with them and I didnt get it unlocked yet they said it was delayed.

Okay if you in the USA unlocking your iPhone for T-mobile can be down at unlockfusion.net and if you wanna unlock your T-mobile iPhone just take your yourself to T-mobile and they will do. Problem solve. After reading some of y'all post it's ridiculous of how much money y'all spending just to unlock your iPhone like come on. Ebay is your friend but if you in the USA go to T-mobile or AT&T or unlockfusion.net or better yet do some soul searching on Google but 140.00 is ridiculous just to unlock your iPhone zamnnnn

They have AT&T at a reasonable price but so do many others who people trust. They do not have a price for the carriers that cost more because they are not widly available. Can they do the ones others charge a lot for cheaper? Or is your post pointless?

My post is pointless for other carriers. My post is originally for people in the US that has AT&T or T-mobile. To other carriers that charge more do your researching and compare your prices and feedback on wether its legit/trusted and delay process time and etc.

Hello,

I ordered a SwiftUnlocks IMEI unlocked and received the code this morning. My 3GS is jailbroken to iOS 4.1 with Cydia installed and is on BB 5.13.04. In the instructions page it says that my phone can not be jailbroken to do this and then gives me a series of steps. Can I still unlock if my phone is jailbroken?

Or should I just remove the JB and update to iOS 6.1 before unlocking. Thanks!

Of course you can unlock your JailBroken phone!

If you're worried about losing your jailbreak, you can turn your iPhone off, insert the non At&t sim card and turn it back on. Make sure you have wifi available and turn your iPhone back on. Your iPhone will search for a network and prompt you to activate. This should allow you to get the unlock and keep your jailbreak.

Ok so I just follow these steps and it should work voilà? So I don't have to put it in DFU mode or restore or anything?

Thanks.

You don't have to. If you paid for the unlock it's permanent and if you like you can update to either iOS 6 - iOS 6.1.2 to jailbreak using evasion but that if you want to

Hello,

So I'm still having trouble with this unlock. Tried turning the phone off/on with T-Mobile SIM. Nothing. I just see 1 bar in the top left with no service provider info.

Then I connected the phone, had iTunes detect it. It asked me if I wanted to Download & Update to 6.1, I said no. Then I disconnected after 20 secs, reconnected, and still nothing! Just one bar in the top left. Am I doing something wrong?

Did you restore your iPhone in iTunes like they ask you too and like I said you can update to iOS 6 or 6.1, 6.1.2 but not 6.1.3 if you want to rejailbreak. Restore your iPhone by clicking restore and see what happens after. I know you should get the message in iTunes saying congratulations or something like that on unlocking your iPhone

Also you can update to iOS 6.1 if iTunes asks you. You will lose your jailbreak but you can rejailbreak your iPhone on iOS 6 version, 6.1 & 6.1.2 using evasi0n but not on iOS 6.1.3

This is the evasion website you go to after updating to either iOS 6, 6.1 or 6.1.2
