Apple needs to use their vast war chest to secure a one-year exclusive for GTA:VI (assuming release around this time next year) and include a copy with every M3 (Base/Pro/Max/Ultra/Extreme/Whatever), they would sell a ton of M3 Pro Mac minis & M3 Max Mac Studios...!?! ;^p

I’d buy one of those M3 Max Studios!

I've emailed Tim about gaming a few times, and his office actually called me. I emailed them again this past week about the new Mac App Store Exclusives. Here's my post about it. I really think they need to turn Apple Arcade into a gaming center like Steam. The Mac App Store is NOT the place for games, as you can see from he screenshots in my post, and many other reasons, of course. Like the lack of mod support, community features, etc.

Apple Arcade would be better off turning into their version of Game Pass. They need a separate store front to do what Steam does.

Here is a suggestion for the next time you send an email to Tim, enabling the Studio Display to work with the PS5, without the need to go through several hops to make it work. I need a sort of plug-and-play system. ;)

As predicted 3 years ago, Apple is pushing AAA gaming:

https://www.macrumors.com/2023/10/25/apple-event-mac-gaming-focus-likely/

Told you all. Just needed to be patient. Most of you said Apple didn't care or didn't want to push AAA gaming. Clearly wrong. They do care. They just didn't have the tools to do it until Apple Silicon.

In addition, I hypothesized in this same thread that a Macbook SE would propel AAA gaming on Mac even faster.

You said that the marketshare would lead to developers porting more games, and instead existing ports are being withdrawn. Apple still don't care enough, because if they did they'd fix the APIs rather than pay for three ports a year.

Uh, one negative does not beat out other positives. Let's wait until the October Event.

Also, this is moving forward. Will every AAA game get ported to macOS? No. Will more and more slowly get ported? Yes. That's the whole point. I never said it's going to be an overnight success.

I think I did mention ~3 years before things get started. Seems like I was right on that too. I think the October event will be a big tell.

Lol! You’re talking about Counter Strike 2, aren’t you?

With historical low ratings, even for a Valve game, they may have just done us a favor by sparing from such a ****** launch!!

Well, let’s talk about it more in-depth, then, shall we?

Which points from the MacRumors article are too speculative for your comfort?
The claim that the event will focus on high-end gaming. That's only their deduction, not something they learned from a source.
I predict the usually stuff: Apple will spend a couple of minutes talking about the games we already know will come to the Mac.

I’d love to take your word for that, but I’ll be much more likely to accept your take on it if you could provide a quote and link back to fortify it, so we know that you’re not misremembering or misrepresenting the MR article.

I'm just saying that one should not raise their expectations too high. Again, Macrumors have no source, except the possibility of an intervention of a Japanese game developer (explaining the unusual time of 5 pm, which I find unconvincing since all recent events have been pre-recorded).

MacBook Pros and iMacs aren't gaming machines. Pro apps are a much more important selling point than games. I don't expect Microsoft to talk at length about games for the release of their Surface products, so one shouldn't expect Apple to do so at this event.
I expect a much bigger emphasis on gaming at a WWDC keynote or the release of the Vision Pro.

So, why not just say that?

As it is, your protests seem more and more ungrounded, as you still have not provided the receipts, so to speak.

You don't think there will be new games announced? Afterall, Game Porting Kit should make it a lot easier for AAA devs to port some older games over.

Maybe FromSoftware is going to port some of their games to macOS. Though I'd be curious if Apple would send a dedicated team for assistance. They also matchup in so far as their games have been released for PS4 as well so they should be portable for iPhone 15 Pro.

Square Enix would be my other thought since they already make iOS games, maybe the PS4 ones can be brought over as is. Though that would rule out the most recent FF game (or even Forspoken). Not sure if any Enix games would show up (that would be kind of cool; Star Ocean is a good game).

I was replying to @senttoschool, who was taking Macrumor's article as evidence that "Apple is pushing AAA gaming", to point at there there is really no evidence of a major push at this event. If the article said "Sources told us that Apple is preparing a Major push of AAA gaming...", I wouldn't have said that.
It's easy to confuse prediction/speculation with insider information in a Macrumors article.

It’s easy to confuse those, but not for you, right?
