It's been a week since I asked Google for an invite, nothing. Anyone else have any luck with actually getting an invite from them?

After installing the new GMail 5.0 I'm not sure why we have two google gmail clients now. I really like inbox aesthetically but it just strikes me as strange for google to be duplicating services here. Its dare as say 'bloating' by reproduction.

I think Google wants to see how well the organization of inbox app works for users. If they see it as an success, then that sort of organization will be implemented into Gmail app. Either that, or they will scratch the Gmail app and inbox will be the main app for all email.

It is likely to become the AOSP client version. The old email client is really dated.

I received mine after about a week. Someone on the here gave me one of their invites, so I forwarded the one from Google to my wife and it worked for her.

I see that it allows you to have all your email accounts in one app. I like that. I don't like using two separate email apps.

Perhaps, but I think Inbox would confuse the heck out of the average user.

Of course the same could be said about Gmail 5 too.

Between Inbox and Gmail 5 I don't know what app I am in half the time.

Its taken me a little while to get used to it, however I must say I really like it!

Only one downside, and ive seen a few others have raised this as well.

Would be great to sort the "Done" folder by date the email was received. At present it only seems to order by the date the email was marked done. As such, all my emails from when I installed Google Inbox are showing for the same date.

Just got my invite. Looking around i think I will like it when I get used to it. Not sure what the plan is since we have Gmail 5.0 and now this. I don't use my Gmail as my main account. I've had my yahoo email since 2000 but Gmail seems to do more.

I got an Inbox invite, but I use iCloud so if anyone wants it I can forward you the email. PM me your Gmail address and I'll forward it to you.
