"Oct. 15/07 - ok, the long awaited version 1.2.2 is out. This version works with phone firmware 1.1.1, although the activation/jailbreak process is a bit more complicated now. The documentation has been moved from the README file into the Help menu within the application itself, so please read through that before asking questions. Enjoy... "

I'd be waiting until 1.1.2 to see what happens to newly doctored 1.1.1 phones, personally.

So all you "hackers", please no whining when you lose radio functionality after an upgrade of the firmware.

I'm not saying don't do it. Just be aware of the problems.

Apparently not.
"This does not work with iPod Touch or iPhone firmware 1.1.1 at this time."
I think you read the wrong page, or wrong paragraph. This is directly from the iNdependance page...

I think YOU didn't read my post correctly.

If you read carefully you will see I was answering someone's question regarding whether or not Apptapp would work with 1.1.1.

I started this thread, so I think we all know that this new version of iNdependence is for 1.1.1.

but not on 1.1.1 ? only 1.02 and below

Seriously people, read the thread before posting idiotic waste of time posts.
The thread is now littered with off-topic crap.
Click the link in the 1st post, download and read the readme. NOT difficult.

Jailbreak - Yes
Activation - Yes
Sim Unlock - No

easy :)

Ok so wait... if I have an iphone that I just updated to 1.1.1, and I use ATT.. this app is useless? Or does it just allow SSH app installs, you just cant use apptapp?

your hit one of my problems there - all the instructions that i've been doing all weekend has drove me mad!

i'm hoping this is just a 1 click activation and jailbreak to get 3rd party apps on

otherwise what's the point -

loloops. sorry mate.

It's quite easy to install AppTapp on 1.1.1 through scp. If you're on 1.0.2, uninstall everything first.

AppTapp works great. Not all the apps listed do.

You CAN install AppTapp (Installer.app) with iNdependence.

The trick is to extract the Installer.app from the AppTapp installation file and manually transfer it to the App folder on the iPhone.

Just use iNdependence to install SSH on the iPhone and then SFTP the app over.
I used Cyberduck for my transfer. :)

Should I restore my iphone to 1.0.2 base image before using this? If so, how do I do that?

Thanks :)

Does this mean that all I have to do to get my virgin 1.1.1 iphone to work is Independence and IPSF?

you need to drop it down to 1.02 with indep, then prepare it and then let itunes upgrade

upgrading now - let you know if it worked

Thanks liketom, we're all waiting eagerly for your results. I don't think anyone here has tried this yet!

As for just using iNdependence and iphonesimfree.com (IPSF), yep, that is all you need to have a fully unlocked 1.1.1 iPhone!

Would really appreciate it! My iPhone arrives tomorrow. With some luck I can start using it the very same day. Better than I thought :)

Thanks.
