Pretty strange.Still can't get any kind of 3D Touch shortcuts on my 7 Plus. Just comes up with the stock share icon, that's after doing everything like restarting, trying to resume recently played etc. Very odd.
Pretty strange.
Do you have any network Favorites set up in Infuse, or just local files?
One thing we are working on is a Library option for iOS, which would allow for browsing via categories (media type, genre, release year, etc...). A normal folder based view (with subfolder support likely added in the future) will still be available for those that prefer it.So has Infuse Pro ever added subfolder support or still nothing? Just wondering.
We don't have any info on future discounts available at this time, but you can get your first month free when subscribing to the annual subscription of Infuse Pro (https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1136220934?mt=8&uo=4&at=11l4GF). This ensures you always have the latest and greatest version even when major new updates (v6, v7, etc...) are released.Hi, will there be any more discounts available for infuse v4 users to upgrade to the new app?
Also, I'm considering buying an ixpand dongle, can you watch media directly from the dongle in infuse or must it be transferred to the iPad first?
Thanks.
5.3 changes how Infuse authenticates with Google Drive in order to be in compliance with Google's change coming on 4/20. I can't speak for other apps, but Infuse 5.3 will continue to work after 4/20. Earlier versions of Infuse will not.Why does Infuse says it supports Google Drive... when it doesn't? I checked the last version for the iPAD, and when I tried log into my Google Drive account, it was already logged, and when I clicked ALLOW THIS APP, it refused and said "not supported".
Is this firecore's mistake or Google's? Also, what is it that Google is telling us, than in April 20th, "we will start blocking OAuth requests using web-views for all OAuth clients on platforms where viable alternatives exist".
Does that mean that an app such as this one:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/documents-5-file-manager-pdf-reader-and-browser/id364901807?mt=8
Or this one:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flacbox-flac-player-music-streamer/id1097564256?mt=8
Won't be able to access my private Google Drive account? In both cases, I can perfectly allow them to see my files, as of now (March 28).
Does that mean after April 20, if I log off and tries to log in again, it won't work?
P.S. The Infuse version I checked for iOS is 5.3.
Accessing shared folders is working here, though YMMV depending on the permissions the owner of the folder has in place. It's working, didn't need to log off. It was probably a temporary issue.
I didn't know until now these players could read google drive hosted video files as they can from the hard drive... It can even read the multiple audio and subtitle streams. And I waited so much time for Google to improve that dreadful app (the one that accesses the Google Drive) or to fix the subtitle bug (iOS browsers now can't recognize them)... that's great!
I wonder if I share my multiple videos from different google drive accounts into a single account, will they all appear if I only log into this account using Infuse? Later I'll check this out.
The files are physically hosted in accounts B and C, but shared with account A, to avoid inserting all three logins into the app, you only needing to do this once.
Infuse 5 is a separate app, and a complete list of everything that's new can be found here.I'm sitting on Pro 4.3.6. Is it worth upgrading, or does it automatically upgrade?
Subtitles is going to be a big focus area for the upcoming 5.4 version, as we have a number of items we would like to improve.I spend today organizing my google drive accounts and will do that in the next days to accommodate them for using with these players.
However I spotted two issues with Infuse, that aren't happening with the other player I am using. It should be noted these problems are from google drive.
Here's the thing: I have account A form GD, and accounts B, C, D, etc.
I logged into accounts B, C, etc. and specified in them that the folders and/or files are to be shared with account A. Meaning that all my files and links are semi-private, accessible to only those who know the link, but also shared with the email from account A.
Account A has a folder from the TV show Cosmos. Meaning this is actually hosted there. Accounts B, C, etc. have folders from ascent of man, universe, matemática, and others, meaning that all of those are hosted in other accounts and only visible to account A through sharing.
You got that part, right? Ok, here's what's happening:
In player #1, all local files and shared files are accessible.
In player #2, which is Infuse, only the local files are available.
This is the first issue that needs to be checked. The second one is about the subtitles from the Matroska (lossless version, from the original DVD, episodes of COSMOS, 1980, Collectors Edition). I checked Infuse settings, and changing the font to yellow shows them in a way that is far from ideal when compared to the results of player #1. Again, for you to have a clear idea of what I am talking about, I am also attaching images taken from the iPad.
What is odd is that Infuse displays all other kinds of subtitles fine, and in the same way the player #1 does. I don't remember how these yellow DVD subtitles are called, but I know they are very old and look completely different from the ones we see with SRT files or extracted from Blu-rays.

And for the record, Infuse seems to be playing these google drive files better than player #1, which is crashing randomly when I fast forward.
P.S. I think I discovered what is lacking in Infuse: my matroska file has also a second subtitle in it, in another language, however it is a SRT stream. In this case, Infuse allows us to define lots of things, but for the DVD subtitles all these options are missing. So that's why they look that way when compared to player #1. Firecore, you need somehow to enable these for the DVD subtitles, too.
Look how many options are available if the subtitle stream is SRT:

...and only two are available for subtitles that were not modified, from DVDs:
https://imgur.com/a/CVidH
Only the font color and the position. As you can see, only these two won't suffice to make them look fine. If you are not going to add the same options you could remove the bold effect to make the font look more readable.
P.P.S. And here's another episode:

Strangely this time the same subtitles look a look better in Infuse.
I have dozens of Google Drive accounts, and lots of contents that need to be shared... so this is a big issue if not made possible for me.With regard to Google Drive, attached is a screenshot of how one shared folder we have is set up. This shared folder is visible for both the owner and the user it's shared with. Maybe this will help provide a clue with regard to your Google Drive settings.
Thanks. I can't comment on the bugs of other players, but I can confirm the rendering of DVD subtitles is something we are working to improve for an upcoming version. One general limitation in this area (since DVD subs are graphic based) is they will never appear quite as sharp as text based SRT files which we can display with retina quality. Nevertheless, there is some room for improvement which we are working on.I tested another video player and noticed it can't display the SRT subtitles from the file. Infuse can.*
* They announced today this will be fixed in a future update.
So we have two players with alternate issues.
The other player really crashes randomly if I fast-forward, the whole thing freezes, while Infuse doesn't do that.
I edited my last post and put a 20 second video from this Matroska, if you want to check:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxB_CoJy5tYLdUdPMTdPQjJWX1k
However that won't help you 100% because as you saw, another episode had the yellow english subtitles displayed differently by Infuse. This issue AFAIK only affects these DVD subtiles.
Thanks for the info. We'll take a look at this, and see if we can figure out the differences.I have dozens of Google Drive accounts, and lots of contents that need to be shared... so this is a big issue if not made possible for me.
I checked again and I am sorry to say that it's not working. I only use free accounts.
Here's what I did, let's retrace my steps (click to enlarge):
********
Account #B - right button in the desired folder (with videos in it): option: Share
Here's the screen I am seeing here:
The name of the folder is Cosmos (1980) - Eps 5, 6, 7
Qualquer pessoa com o link pode visualizar = Any person with the link can view
Account B = você/YOU
Account A (the one I inserted the login credentials in Infuse)
As you can see, it's being shared.
**********
Now, let's look at SHARED WITH ME (compartilhados comigo) from account #A:
The folder is there. And since it's appearing in the other player and not in Infuse, this is a bug from Infuse.
******
Now look at what is being displayed here when I click in the folder properties:
Google Drive offers 3 alternatives when you share a folder/file:
Ownership (account A would become the new owner of the folder)
Can only view the contents
Can edit/add stuff
I tried all these, and nothing, Infuse still can't show a thing.
It can only show the files that are inside account #A. Not the ones shared from accounts B, C, etc.
Since I have dozens of accounts I really need to share all of them to account #A.
The only other alternative is to log into each one of them, which is not practical.
For example, if you only have documentaries spread into 15 Google Drive accounts, you may insert the credentials to account #A in Infuse, share the other 15 accounts (their contents) with account #A, and name that as DOCUMENTARIES in Infuse.
Thanks! Enjoy.Great update
That's great! I would also suggest, if possible, for a future update, that there's no stopping in the playback when the audio/subtitle streams are changed/modified.I can't comment on the bugs of other players, but I can confirm the rendering of DVD subtitles is something we are working to improve for an upcoming version. Thanks for the feedback. I'll pass it along. One thing that must be said is that Google is perhaps the worst company ever when it comes to fixing any technical issue (not that there's some issue here, I am merely stating that it's hard to get things done if you rely on them).
That's great! I would also suggest, if possible, for a future update, that there's no stopping in the playback when the audio/subtitle streams are changed/modified.
I noticed that if you want to switch between streams, only when you finish doing that, the window closes and the playback resumes, accepting your new option.
However you may want to do the switch and follow the changes on the fly. Because the way it works now means that you need to return to that option (inside Infuse) everytime you want to change to another stream, which makes the process becomes tedious, when you have many.
This is something we have on our radar to look into for a future update.Feature request - keyboard shortcuts!
I'd love to be able to hit the space bar to play/pause etc given that 95% of the time I'm using Infuse on the iPad, the smart keyboard is attached.
