There are a few things to check.
  1. SMB is enabled on your Mac (more info here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204445).
  2. At least one user is selected under 'Windows File Sharing' (as shown under 'Advanced Options' in the link above).
  3. Selected username and password are being entered in Infuse.
Note: iCloud username/password cannot be used. If you're using an iCloud ID to log in to your Mac, you will need to set up a new 'Sharing Only' user as described here: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18695

This worked. Thanks a lot.

Any idea why my cover-art is constantly moving about every time I enter my folders? I'm not changing anything, or adding anything extra, but if I quit the app, then enter one, the titles are in the wrong order, then correct themselves each time. It didn't happen with Infuse 4 (which I've only just updated from, slacking I know) - NFS share on a WD Network hard-drive.

Hmm, we've seen a few cases of this when using DLNA, but not NFS. You might double-check to ensure you're using NFS for this particular share.

Otherwise, feel free to drop us a note and we can assist further.

It's not a big deal as it settles down in 10 seconds or so. It's definitely NFS, I just double-checked.

Just an update on my previous 'issue'. Things settled down after the first few hiccups, so I guess I wasn't leaving it long enough to index all the files completely, as it was a large folder with many films in it.

Been fine since.

Noticed that Apple removed the volume levels for the AirPods, after tvOS 11. Before we could adjust these from 0 to 10, 20, etc. %, in the ATV internal settings.

Now it seems we are stuck with whatever volume we get while using these devices and yesterday I tried using Infuse last version and could barely hear a BABYLON 5 episode saved as MKV, lossless from the original DVD.

Another reason why implementing this feature not only for some DTS-HD tracks but for ALL OF THEM is a must for this app. I don’t get why we can do this for iOS and are not able to do for tvOS. This feature should be available for the ATV, too.

You better believe me when I say that using the AirPods in this scenario is dreadful. All I ask is the chance to decide between high, medium and low volume levels, and not just low and very low.

If I am not mistaken in iOS this is called volume boost.

AirPods actually use Siri to control volume, and a bit more info on how this works can be found here.

I understand that Siri appears to be the perfect tool for adjusting the volume, however it is far from being an alternative. Allow me to elaborate further:

iOS:

I never rely on Siri because very often it does not understand 100% what I am saying or (and this is the part Apple and most users don't get it) it takes me less time to move my finger to the iPAD/iPhone screen and adjust it myself than saying "Hey Siri". Pause. Speak: "raise volume to 75%". A lot more faster.

And if I am not mistaken this has nothing to do with volume boost, which is an internal setting. Siri will not adjust volume boost even if you ask.

You only need to adjust the volume by a gesture from your finger, touching the screen (fine tuning until you are satisfied with the percentage needed for that particular video) or even adjust the volume boost in Infuse internal settings for 200% (it can go up to 400%).

What did I do for the Airpods? Configured volume boost in ALL players (not just Infuse) to 200%. That means when I try to play ANY VIDEO (regardless if it has Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-HD... tracks) the Airpods will ALWAYS be on a volume level that is higher than what I can get with any of these percentages.

Sometimes even if you raise the volume to 100% it's still low. That's where "volume boost" shines.

I am not exagerating when I say if the volume boost wasn't there the experience would be really bad, since most videos (not all - most of them!) are not loud enough. Either the audio tracks need to be perfected for headphone listeners or the Airpods are light years from being the best headphones in the market.

Not that I always listen things bursting my eardrums, :D it's just that the Airpods are far from being loud AT ALL. No kidding.

Apple-TV (4th gen.):

- Despite what I said before, I tried using Siri in the ATV, to follow your suggestion and see how that would change anything. Couldn't do, and noticed it is disabled just like someone posted here:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7314533?tstart=0

You can see from this picture mine is disabled and greyed out, too:

In my case the default language it's portuguese/Brazil. I tried changing to English - US (region). No luck. Still disabled. :(

This is very odd because Siri works in my language (and several others) in iOS.

So as you can see I have no recourse for the ATV.

Been using this app for a while now and it works great. One thing that was requested by a few, including me, in the past was a way to random shuffle all videos in a folder. Is there any update to that / ETA when it may be implemented? This on a folder with music videos would be an awesome jukebox instead of going in same sequence every single time.

After receiving my new ATV I have been testing over the last few weeks different methods/apps to play my media from my Synology NAS. I tried VideoStation/DS Video, Plex and Infuse. Out of the 3 Infuse has not failed me. Keep up the good work!

I guess I understand the issue, but volume boost isn't really designed to act as a volume adjustment. In essence, the audio quality is degraded as the boost is increased. This doesn't matter as much in cases where there is a lot of background noise (airplane, train, factory, etc...) as hearing something is better than hearing nothing, but for quiet home listening it's not an ideal option. Personally, based on your experience with AirPods so far, I think it might be best to find headphones that have better volume control options.

This is something we hope to look into for a future update, but there's no ETA just yet.

Great! So glad to hear you're enjoying it. :)

We've tested NAS drives from both companies and all have worked very well. Synology will have larger capacity options (they go up to 12 bays last I checked) so that is something to think about if you need a lot of space. :)

Just filled a bug report, I'll see what Apple has to say about this.

While I agree with you that other headphones could be considered I still don't understand why they removed volume levels after the tvOS 11.0 update. If Siri is the only way to adjust these now, I consider this decision idiotic because this feature isn't available in several countries (for the ATV). In iOS I was able to test Siri and adjust the volume levels. For tvOS Siri it's permanently disabled for me.

Great! Let us know if you hear anything back.

A reasonable approach would be to use the normal Siri remote volume buttons to control AirPod volume (when the Apple TV senses they are attached). Seems much more intuitive than having tap and talk to your headphones.
