Is there any chance you guys can/will support keyboard shortcuts on iOS like the videos/TV app does? That would be really handy.

Yep! Infuse now uses file modified dates for determining what's new, and sorting by date. Existing libraries will be updated automatically during the next scan. Date info is available when streaming via SMB, NFS, FTP/SFTP, WebDAV, Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive.
I updated last night and, after having to remove and re-add my Plex share due to "an error occurred" message every time I tried to access the library from my Apple TV (a recurring issue that may correlate to every time I update the Plex server on my Mac), the Recently Added films displayed by Infuse are still not correct.

It used to be that "recently added" would always show the last films in reverse-alphabetical order, because those were the last Infuse scanned. Now, I can't make any sense of how it's determining what to display; there appears to be no rhyme or reason to it at all!

Any suggestions?

If I'm not mistaken accessing a Plex library via Infuse uses DLNA, right? If so, based on @firecore's post it seems populating the recently added section based on the files' timestamps doesn't work over DLNA since the timestamps aren't provided.

The new "recently added"-handling works fine for me (I access my files via SMB). Perhaps you can directly share the volume where your movie files are stored instead of going through Plex?

As Rigby mentioned, some streaming options like UPnP/DLNA don’t make date information available to apps like Infuse. If you are able to connect to your device directly (without Plex) Infuse should be able to access the date info which will allow for sensible sorting. Some people have also seen a performance improvement while browsing/streaming when connecting directly (via SMB, NFS, etc...).

@firecore I'm seeing app background refresh in the settings on ATV with the new update, is that a new option to developers now for their apps?

I just downloaded this today, and trying the Pro trial version.

Works far better for me from my NAS than Plex, no buffering at all, I assume as the ATV is doing the processing.

Infuse and the ATV 4K might just replace my big beast of a power sucking HTPC running Kodi for the foreseeable future.

Updating metadata now, hopefully it will be all shiny when done ! :)

Infuse is an absolutely fantastic app. I’m wondering how the developers are feeling about the 4k Apple TV, particularly in relation to it force converting SDR material to HDR? Wondering if they can do anything about it or is that all happening at a system level that they can’t touch?

Great to hear! :)

There's an update (5.5.4) which makes things even better on the Apple TV 4K that was submitted to Apple a few days ago, and we're hoping it gets approved soon.

Thanks for the kind words. :)

I'm not sure how much control we're going to have with regard to HDR up-converting, but general HDR video support is currently in progress so it's possible the 2 things may be related. More news soon.

Great stuff, have the Metadata updated now, looking good.

If Apple ever enable Atmos, this box and your App will be an even better combination.

I have a Question - I have Movies, TV Shows and Library Icons showing at the bottom of the home screen. I think for me it makes more sense to just navigate via the Library icon. is there any way to hide or delete the other Icons, or are they fixed there?

Yes, you can hide folder based favorites, and add shortcuts to Library categories. More info on doing all this can be found here. https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000074814-Library-101-tvOS-

Downloaded Infuse on ATV4K (hoping it'd be a better option than VLC).

On my iMac, I have a specific folder set to share. I select SMB, and then put in the username and password that I use to access my computer. But says my username or password is wrong and doesn't connect. I even have to allow guests and it's now allowing guests.

Am I doing something wrong?

I use SFTP to access my whole Mac including all the drives connected to it.

There are a few things to check.
  1. SMB is enabled on your Mac (more info here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204445).
  2. At least one user is selected under 'Windows File Sharing' (as shown under 'Advanced Options' in the link above).
  3. Selected username and password are being entered in Infuse.
Note: iCloud username/password cannot be used. If you're using an iCloud ID to log in to your Mac, you will need to set up a new 'Sharing Only' user as described here: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18695
