One feature I would love to see added, is being able to sort different versions of the same movie. That is the main reason I've stopped using infuse. I really like it though, and when that feature is added, I will certainly return :)
I have too agree, having this feature would be excellent. Currently I have the regular and extended editions of both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies and right now Infuse can't tell the difference.

I agree or same movie in multiple languages.

Side not: How do you watch the regular after watching the extended version, hard to go back :)

TMDb has said they're working to add support for different 'cuts' so we should be able to add this in an upcoming version of Infuse. :)

I'm a bit behind on this. Will the current model ATV4 get the benefit of the HEVC decoding when updated to ios11?

The current ATV4 hardware will get a boost for HEVC video playback with iOS 11, but it won’t be quite as dramatic as the HW decoding which is available on A9 and later devices (the ATV4 uses an A8). In essence, most 1080p HEVC videos will play fine on an ATV4 w/ iOS 11. 4K will require the ATV5.

I was also hoping the issue with frame rates would be sorted for the next ATV - it's 24/23.9xx that's till an issue isn't it? (My Minix U1 is ok, and plays 4k, hevc etc etc... but would prefer just to go to Apple & Infuse for less hassle - given up hope with Plex and their out of date players even though it looks pretty...)

Any audio hints at bitstream or atmos?
Nothing yet, but I’m sure there’s quite a few ATV related features we’ll hear about soon.

The variable refresh rate available on the new iPad Pros is encouraging to see. Hopefully something similar makes it’s way to the ATV4/ATV5 this fall.

Not sure if it's an Infuse bug or a bug in TvOS 11 but sometimes when I'm playing a video off my NAS using Infuse and I hit the menu button to go back to the list of episodes in a series the screen just freezes with the loading indicator in the middle of the screen, I'm still able to press the home button and then use the app switcher to close Infuse, which makes me wonder if it's an Infuse bug.

A bit of both actually. ;)

Will be fixed in the next update (5.5.2).

Can't you name them as such?

The Hobbit (2012).mkv
The Hobbit (2012) - Extended Version.mkv

Or something along those lines? I know you can do this in other programs so I would assume you can do this here?

You can, but since TMDb does not yet support different cuts, these would both end up being listed as the regular 'The Hobbit' movie. Support for multiple cuts is coming to TMDb (and Infuse) in the future. https://twitter.com/themoviedb/status/891848420423593984
Any ETA when 5.5.2 will be released?
It could be as early as next week, and will have a few nice things for those already running iOS 11. ;)

Very nice. I guess it's a sign of things to come. ;) Did you do any tests with high-bitrate H.265 videos? Also, can it play 4K material downscaled to 1080p on the ATV4?
It's a big step forward, but the current ATV4 hardware is still limited to 1080p HEVC (up to ~20 Mbps).

Newer iOS devices (A9 and later) support full 4K 10-bit HEVC (200+ Mbps). :D The upcoming ATV5 should be in line with these specs as well.

Has there been some indication the ATV5 will release in September? For some reason I thought the 4 was announced in October.

The ATV4 was announced in early September 2015, and started shipping in late October. The ATV5 could follow a similar schedule...or it could be entirely different.

The sooner the better of course. :)

Do you think we'll see audio pass-through with the ATV5? It would be a real shame to have 4k and HDR but not be able to pass through Atmos.

Hard to say, but if the iTunes Store ends up offering Atmos content then the Apple TV will definitely need to support it.

Offering 4K HDR video with only 16-bit audio does seem a little silly though.

Does this app work to stream from a Western Digital My Cloud hdd? I currently use a WD TV Live player, but would prefer to switch over to the Apple TV.
