Hmm, we'll take a look.

Are single digit season numbers working?
No I checked that as well. Also tried putting the poster jpg in the season folder as well as the series level. Neither seemed to work. Tried closing the app as well.

Are you connecting via UPnP/DLNA by chance? Unfortunately image overriding won't be available with either of those.

If that doesn't help please drop us a note and we can assist further. https://firecore.com/contact

It's still on our radar. A lot people name their videos like The.Dark.Knight.2008.mkv so right now Infuse treats periods as spaces. We just need to come up with a good solution to handle the other cases.
Well, that explains "U.N.C.L.E", but not "Hawaii Five-0" (which is frankly the bigger issue for me since I don't feel like manually editing dozens of episodes). I seems that it shouldn't be so difficult to resolve since Infuse apparently even matches the names to TheTVDB. Every time the release notes say something like "Improved filename matching algorithms" I'm hoping that issue is resolved ...

A similar change is needed there as well. Infuse treats spaces, periods (.) hyphens (-) and underscores (_) all the same.

Let's hope the tv season overriding works now as it didn't in the previous release, even for single seasons.

I'm really interested in Infuse, but not until you support HD codec bitstreaming, e.g True HD and DTS Master Audio, is there any ETA on this or if it's even possible?

Unfortunately the Apple TV doesn't support 24-bit audio bitstreaming at this time. However, Infuse is able to send audio as 24-bit LPCM. LPCM is an uncompressed/lossless format which results in no loss of quality. A bit more info on how this works can be found here. https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/217735707

Infuse has been called 'the best media player for iPhone and iPad' by Cult of Mac (http://www.cultofmac.com/256655/inf...or-iphone-and-ipad-gets-redesigned-for-ios-7/), and now it's available on Apple TV!

I can't believe I had never heard of this app prior to coming across this thread. It's amazing! The automatic retrieval of movie info as well as cover art immediately supplanted VLC as my go to player. I also like that when I gave it a folder of tv episodes the app catalogs them all together and lists them as episodes in a single window. Brilliant.

If I upgrade to pro, all of my devices will know which movies and such I have checked as "watched"? What else stays in sync between devices?

Thank you guys so much for this app!

I use the Trakt.tv sync to keep track of what I’ve watched - so handy!

Glad you're enjoying it so far. :)

Infuse uses a combination of iCloud and Trakt to keep things in sync. A bit more info on this can be found here. https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000070773-iCloud-Trakt-Syncing

This is the first time an Infuse update has caused problems for me. When I launched the app today after it had auto-updated to the new version, it had apparently lost most of my library (except for a handful of TV shows), and the library status was "Last Update: Never". It is now apparently scanning my whole library from scratch, which takes ages.

Hmm, sorry about that. We're looking into one other case of this, so if you have a chance to send in a report from your Apple TV it might help us track down what happened. https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/articles/215090927-Troubleshooting-and-Getting-Support

One thing to keep in mind is Apple TV apps don't have any persistent storage, and any storage Infuse does use is treated more like a glorified cache. This means if you are running low on space and decide to download some new apps (or space is requested by another app) instead of getting an out of space message tvOS will just decide to give your Infuse data the heave-ho in order to free up space. Fortunately, with iCloud sync things will automatically refresh on their own without you having to set up your shares again.

Will do.

I thought about that, but Infuse has never lost the library before and I haven't downloaded any new apps in months. Unless one of the installed apps for some reason suddenly consumed a lot more storage space, nothing has changed (except that Infuse was updated).

I did lose the "recently added" status though. That section now shows movies that I added a long time ago.

Also, rebuilding the library from scratch and downloading metadata and covers took a looong time, which is annoying if you had just settled down to watch something. BTW, if possible it would be good if the app could prevent the ATV from going to sleep while it's building the library. I have mine set to sleep after 1 hour, and started the library rebuild before going to bed. This morning it was still not done because the 1 hour apparently wasn't enough and the ATV had gone to sleep before Infuse was finished.

Good points thanks.

One thing we do have on our radar is to improve how recently added items are handled. So in the rare event this issue should repeat itself, or you install Infuse on a 2nd device, your new stuff still appears as expected.

Infuse 4 user here. Yesterday was the first time that i couldnt play a file. It was stuttering all the time. I will leave here the media info. VLC played it great.

Infuse 5.3, which was released in March, includes a revamped playback core with many big improvements. https://firecore.com/blog/18155

You might give this version a try to see if it helps with this particular file.

It's been a busy summer so far here at Firecore HQ, and today we're proud to announce Infuse is graduating to version 5.5 and getting some pretty fantastic new features.

Drumroll please...

All-new Library (aka, the new-new hotness)
Last year we introduced our new Library option on Apple TV, and today we're making it available for iOS! Library is an awesome new way to browse, search, and discover your content. Items are automatically grouped into categories, and the Up Next list is prominently displayed on the new home screen - making it easy to find something new and fresh to start watching.

Browse using Smart Filters
Tagging along with our new Library is a neat way to browse by using filters. These are created from your Library automatically and with just a few taps you can quickly filter by genre, rating, release date, and age rating. Want to see lists of Comedies? How about movies that were released during the 80s? Just tap, browse, and play!

Tidy up sequels with Collections
Collections are a super-handy way to see movies that are part of a group (sequels, prequels, etc..). Can't remember the name of Fast and Furious 2, or the first Bond film with Roger Moore? No worries - simply jump into Collection to find what you're looking for in a snap!

A little bonus for AirPlay & Google Cast
A slick new screen with artwork and light metadata is now displayed while streaming via AirPlay or Google Cast. Note, this was actually added in 5.4.5, but we liked it so much we thought it deserved an honorable mention.

And much, much more...
Faster metadata fetching, a sleek new dark mode, better search, and a number of other improvements and fixes have been packed into this release. A complete list of what's new can be found here.

Do more with PRO
Infuse gets even better when you go Pro, and when you download Infuse 5 you can test drive all the awesome new Pro features for an entire month, for free!

We always love hearing your comments, feedback, and suggestions - so please feel free to post a comment below or drop us a note anytime.

Enjoy!

One feature I would love to see added, is being able to sort different versions of the same movie. That is the main reason I've stopped using infuse. I really like it though, and when that feature is added, I will certainly return :)
