Hi
@wicknix —
A question for you, mindful how this may not be browser-related, but system-related:
I‘ve noticed how on Build 10A96 of Snow Leopard, when I try to use, for example, the “Attach files” button (here on the MR forums) or if I try to add an Add-on extension from a local .xpi file, the modal dialogue box for finding a file fails to open. Instead, in Console, this particular message appears:
Jul 25 23:12:12 glaciologia interwebppc[311]: *** -[GeckoNSApplication setHelpMenu:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x49df60
Jul 25 23:12:12 glaciologia interwebppc[311]: Mozilla has caught an Obj-C exception [NSInvalidArgumentException: *** -[GeckoNSApplication setHelpMenu:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x49df60]
If it
is a system issue, I don’t yet have an idea where to begin looking for either of “GeckoNSApplication” or “setHelpMenu”. But by the same token, this may be an incompatibility with the TFF/Interweb code base and 10A96
or any of the 10.5.8-backported components added to improve 10A96 functionality. It could also be related to whatever is parsing objective-C. Thing is, I don’t
remember a time when the open dialogue box has opened in 10A96 (which is to say: it might have worked early in my testing from earlier 2020, but that was quite some time ago). So I’m inclined to deduce that the issue lies with the system and not the browser.
I’m throwing this out there in the event you’ve ever run across that kind of log message in your own testing. Cheers.
