iOS 10.1 Dev Beta 5 Changes, Bugs, and Fixes

Has anyone experienced an unresponsive screen? Screen will just not respond to any touches. I've noticed it on 10.1 betas 4 & 5 on my 256GB 7+. I can double-click the home button and the apps appear as if I can close them, but I can't because the screen won't respond. I can hold down the power button to where it asks me to swipe to shut down, but I can't swipe it. No apps will open. I have to hold down power & down volume to hard boot it. It's happened twice now. Not sure how to reproduce it.

Yes. Same issue. Random lock ups requiring hard reset.

I experienced this within Safari. And only a particular webpage. Not sure if it's the same issue you're experiencing. Could be just an exceptionally large webpage that the phone had difficulty processing and freeze up.

I think the fix for the signal drop to 3G in weak areas is not in beta 5. A friend of mine who is not in the beta program kept the lte signal while mine dropped to 3G at the mall today.

Although the beta has the newer carrier settings 26.0 vs 25.1 in 10.0.3

Happens in safari sometimes for me on my 6s

I hope this fixes the close app animation bug / app switcher performance on the 7 plus.
Frustrating to see the 6/6+ much more fluid in ios10 than a new 7/7+

It's happened a couple of time for me. So far, I've been able to resolve it by locking my screen and then unlocking it. I've also submitted a bug report to Apple.

With the final release rumored for this week (this Tuesday in particular), it seems fairly unlikely there would be any more betas.

good point, Japan is 13 hours ahead of EDT.

so if it were to release at 1pm EDT on Tuesday 10/25, it would be already 10/26 in Japan. Hmmm.... we'll find out shortly!

2 AM to be precise. Perhaps that makes more sense for an Apple Pay launch in Japan Tuesday, rather than having iOS 10.1 drop Wednesday at 2 AM.

Well, regardless, we'll find out in a little over 2 hours! I feel like 10.1 won't be released this week and we might get a new beta today. But I hope I'm wrong because I'm ready for that portrait mode!

Maybe it is being released today... I looked at some of the other .1 releases and they happened to be released on Mondays! 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 for examples. 9.1 was released on a Wednesday however. wait and see i guess....
