- iPhone 7 Plus on the left
- How animation is on all other apple devices on the right.

Notice how it starts off slow and then quickly accelerates, but the wallpaper didn't get the memo and has to lag behind.

Also, I prefer the way the app shrinks into a square on the right as opposed to a rectangle on the left.
[doublepost=1476147792][/doublepost]App close animation is identical to beta 2. If you think otherwise, then you're experiencing the placebo effect.

It's probably going to take until 10.2 to fix this... maybe even 10.3 when they start reworking some of this stuff.

I honestly don't see a difference in the two. Not trying to argue or anything as different people can be sensitive to different things, but to me they were identical and I'm pretty damn picky about stutters and things. Just my 2 cents.

Safari feels much snappier on wifi...

I noticed all of the commotion about the app closing animation. Although it is slow then quickly speeds up, the animation starts almost instantaneously vs the pause on the 6s. Could it be intentional that the animation is slow for a split second to allow time for a double press to open the app switcher, vs a slight pause after pushing the home button on the 6s?

Not a single difference? I put them side by side and the video on the right is one constant steady speed whereas the one on the left starts off really slow, then speeds up, then the icons land, then the wallpaper continues to move for a bit.

I don't understand how someone can sit there and say they look identical.

Here's a red car and here's a blue car... "they look identical to me. They're both cars and I'm usually pretty picky about how cars look"

That's exactly why they did that. However, I don't think the wallpaper is supposed to keep moving after the icons land.

Anyone ever get the blank screen that says "Safari could not open this page" randomly? Then refreshing right away makes the page load. Been getting this since the iOS 10 betas and it hasn't been fixed, even in 10.1 b3.

Anyone having email notifications issues? No issue with my Air 2, but my 7Plus won't push email notifications.

But update to battery:

3hr35min usage, 6hr43min standby, 78% remaining on my 7Plus. Seems roughly the same as 10.0.2, but I had zero battery issues with 10.0.2.

I really don't. If you want to spend your days mulling over an animation that looks so close that most people would never notice it, more power to you. I have better thing to do with my time. I had issues with the extreme stuttering in the early betas of iOS 10 and it got fixed. My opinion is, enjoy your device, because if apple ever fixes it it'll probably be time to upgrade again lol.

There are millions of people that own iPhones, and only a minuscule portion of those people post on these forums. So my point is, just because you see something, it doesn't mean everyone else does. Every version of iOS has had its issues. Some of them major issues some of them not. In my opinion, this is not. I respect the fact that you aren't satisfied with the animation, and that's why Apple gives you the feedback app. I have used it to make them aware of various issues. Whether or not they listen and fix them, is yet to be seen. In the mean time, I will enjoy my device because the alternative is an Android device from HTC or Google or God forbid Samsung, and we don't want to even get into that fiery mess

It's really not that difficult. There is a clear difference between the two even to an untrained eye. My wife for instance can tell a difference and she is your average iPhone user who honestly couldn't care less about new features and such.
Now whether or not that difference bothers you or not is a different story. To each his own. I can't make you be bothered about it just as you can't make the guy who is bothered about it to stop.

Well that explains it, I use a black background, it happens more than fast enough for me.

I am amazed how tiny a difference throws people off, this isn’t the first time in my life. I sometimes wish I had that attention to detail until situations like this that show it is a double-edged sword.

I respect that it doesn't bother you, but to flat out say that there is absolutely no difference is just ignorant. The videos are side by side in SLOW MOTION that CLEARLY shows the difference. I also outlined the difference by explaining exactly what's happening.

The reason this glitch bothers me is because my other iOS devices have this nice smooth, evenly paced, transition to the home screen, while the iPhone 7 (fastest iOS device right now) looks like it can't display the transition correctly and it throws off my brain. It's not consistent either. If you open an app and quickly close it, you get a different animation than when you open an app, wait a few seconds, then close it.

I get that it's done on purpose so that apps will respond to the home button faster, but I wish they could clean it up so that it transitioned more smoothly to the home screen and make it so the wallpaper zooms at the same rate as everything else.

If they did that, I think I'd be okay. It's that extra animation of the wallpaper that kills me. It look disjointed.

I for one am pleased with beta 3. Nothing show stopping for me, no sudden crashes or glitches. Battery life seems on par on my 7 plus.

I'm not going to knit pick every small detail as I'm having no issues with notifications, games, streaming or receiving my corporate emails at this time. Phone operates how I want it to so I'm happy.

I have noticed that the news app is quicker to show updated stories and the bar at the top of the screen that displays signal and time does not lag in showing after closing apps anymore. Solid release thus far!

Nothing to be concerned about (I think?) but performance has been going down for me. Scored 3447/5660 on iOS 10.1 B1 and since then I've hit 300 points less in multi-core performance.

iPhone 7 Plus beta 3. It seems like they sped up the app changer animation stutter where it would kinda bounce when you double click the home button. Idk if everyone knew this but 10.0.2 (no beta) the app changer animation is normal. No bounce.

Has the proximity sensor issue in the phone app been fixed?

I'm on 10.1B2 and screen does not light up when I remove the phone from my ear. Have to click the home button so I can see the screen and use the dial pad.

Only happens directly after call is engaged. Once I've clicked the home button once then the proximity sensor works and the screen turns on if I remove the phone from my ear

I used to have black screen, freezes and resprings when launching the camera app in video mode.
Seems to be fixed now.

About the animations big deal.
Just activate reduce motion and quit being so pedant about it.
Give them time, they have, has someone said, critical bugs (battery drain , freeze, memory leak) ... a couple of dropped frames...

This beta also has been very stable. Don't see any major glaring issues. The animation stutter is a little bit better than beta 2 if you ask me but still a bit there for sure. Camera respring bug is gone and wifi and LTE issues are resolved for me. Anyone else want me to check for bugs?

To those of you concerned with the app closing animation, I understand your feelings about this. Would you mind, however, taking it to a different thread? The topic has pretty much overwhelmed the discussion of everything else in the general beta threads at times. That will allow you to have a full and unfettered discussion without sidetracking the main topic.

Thanks!

Agreed, there's an extra thread for this:
