Even after restarting and letting it settle, I've got two cores spinning.
[doublepost=1476204187][/doublepost]
I downgraded to 10.0.2 via option+update, but my phone is all spazzed out. Luckily there is the Activity Decipher tool. Restoring as new to 10.0.2 now. What a mess.

Clearly something wrong with beta 3, as I've heard nothing but good things about beta 2.
Yeah beta 2 was ok. TBH I think the best battery was latest prod.

Ive done countless hard restarts and I'm running 85% CPU. iPad Air 2 is fine, but 7Plus isn't happy.

This is why I swore off betas after 10.0.1, but stupid curiosity got me.

Yep, the new iPhones have very fast flash storage which means fast updates, since the updates mainly involve copying data around on the flash.

I started the update at lunch and when walking back to my building decided to see how far along it was and it was done, far sooner than I've ever seen an update finish before, on my 7 Plus. :)

I believe the beta 3 was a very small file as well.

I had a very crazy bug? with my iPhone 7
Look the video.
The speaker sounds broken, also when you hear normal music. After a hard reset now its normal. But wtf was that? I never heard this before..

Just for perspective: installed Beta 3 (public version) last evening. Right now I'm at 79% battery, with 5hr 1min of standby and 2hr46min of use (with a 10 min connection to my car USB port thrown in for full transparency). A little more usage than I was seeing under Beta 2, but also only about 15 hours since I installed, so not really a good test yet.

Good to hear it's not impacting everyone. It's normally device and/or app/setup specific. Let's hope it gets resolved before the GM, as I've have no battery issues with my 6S up until now.

Have you guys tried a reset network or reset all settings 1st? I have pretty much same battery life as beta 2 on a 6s. Standby is awesome and seems it would hang around for days if I let it. @Mlrollin i see you downgraded back already but curious if you tried this 1st or just didnt want to wait it out for a day or so. Could be iCloud doing crap too as thats common for it to get jacked after an update causing background usage.

Just got my iPhone Plus 128 GB JB delivered yesterday. I was really tempted to install the new developer beta to try out the new bokeh effect, but not so sure about it now.

The software with the phone was version was 10.0.1 out of the box, and I've noticed the battery life is insane in my little usage of the phone! I know the next version is out, but heard a lot of battery drain with that update. Gonna try and hold out on this for a little bit considering the battery was one of the main reasons I upgraded.

I'll give that a go, but I first want to see if I can find the problem task via Xcode such that I can report it. More information is always good as it helps solve problems properly. Although I do post issues up on MR, I do also submit these things to Apple, as I urge everyone else to do. I'm sure Apple probably do monitor this forum amongst others, but their first port of call will always be their own feedback/bug reporting tool.

I'm shocked they have still not fixed the two-finger cursor movement problem for the iPad (Air) on spotlight search. It's not something I really ever use, but it's annoying to know it's there! They basically messed up their X/Y coordinates when the iPad is in landscape. They flipped the screen, but didn't flip the input from the keyboard cursor controller! I've reported this numerous times...

Yep, tried reset all settings first. No go. 80% of usage was standby drain.

In the now playing screen, theres the airplay button in the middle and the ... on the right. On the left side there is nothing, but if you press over there (symmetrical to the right button, where the left should be), it brings up a menu to delete songs. Invisible button.
Looks more like the touch radius for all three of those buttons needs to be fixed. I'm in the podcast app currently, and you can tap in any of the blank spaces next to the three icons on the bottom row, and they'll pull up an action for the closest button. Needs adjustment.

So did going back to 10.0.2 fix it?

Yes, everything is back to normal except I lost all my health data. iTunes encrypted backup and iCloud backup failed to restore the data. If you go to settings -> storage, it shows the health data, but activity and health app would not update the information. Spent 3 hours on the phone with Apple. They don't know whats wrong, but there is a serious bug that prevents health from reading the data.

Do you have it set to allow notifications and location? It may not update the widget if not. Does news work otherwise for you? Been working fine here and updates whenever there is something new automatically.

So hooking the phone up to Xcode/Instruments, I see that photoanalysisd and meriaanalysissd are spinning up. I'm not sure this is happening when the device is not charging, but this could explain battery issues.

Are all of you experiencing batter drain running large media libraries? I sure am.

I'm wondering if they have made some changes to photo recognition etc in this release, as I've not made any changes to by photos library.

I'll see if I can find a way to monitor the tasks while not powering, else this is moot.

Having finished writing this post, the CPU has gone down considerably though.

I only have a 400 photo library. So that finished scanning faces and all that during the day. Not sure if that was the cause of my issue. I was never able to get XCode instruments to work because my device was acting up. But now back on 10.0.2 fresh install and I am 100% back to normal. Have not touched the device except to check battery stats: 10min usage, 3hr 15min standby. So I have pretty much zero standby battery drain.

I'll report tomorrow. Seems much better. I've also reset network settings, but I doubt that's a factor. I have a huge 40,000+ photo library, so I'm guessing it was a reanalysis on that beta. Would make sense given the camera updates, but surprised it was spinning away at that under battery power - perhaps that's the bug there. Non-conclusive.
