Using beta 1 since release. Batterylife seems excellent on my 7+
iPad Mini 4 on 10.2 here; can confirm. One of the most heavily-battery-draining things I do with the device is listen to lossless music (through Tidal) using a high-end pair of headphones connected to an amp which is in turn connected to the iPad through the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. Usually I am able to listen to maybe one album (assuming it’s around an hour in length), perhaps a little more, but in the new 10.2 beta it’s more like four to five hours of listening time. This is honestly a game-changer.

I am altogether extremely satisfied with this beta; here’s to hoping it only improves from here.

I really stay 1 or 2 days with 10.1.1 but with iOS 10 and 9 the bug was unresolved 100%
I guess that can depend on whether or not those with earlier versions of iOS 10 (and perhaps even 9) are still seeing that issue or not.

Does the beta improve battery life and performance or at least 1 of them? I am having serious battery drain on my 6s and performance is meh.

I finally got my year old 6s replaced after it kept dying at 30-40%. Im running the beta on my replacement device which has a new battery (i am pretty sure replacements are refurbs) and I am about 5hrs of mixed usage (no music) with 40% left.

That is much better than what im getting. I was at 20% with 3hrs of SoT just a few min ago it's insane, But my 6s is also a year old, does apple still charge you to get a replacement battery or should i just go with the 7 since im pretty much due for an upgrade?

It was a free replacement-- my phone was about a month over the normal 1 yr, but i bought Applecare+.
You could try going in for diagnostics if you are still under warranty. They replace your battery for free if your batt capacity is ~%80.

My case was kind of interesting as the genius just offered to replace the device because of the symptoms i was having (he was saying it may be the logic board... which i doubt lol)

Is anyone else having weird problems texting with Siri? I can reproduce this at will on a iPhone 6S, and it seems to be related to certain terms. If I tell Siri to "text Bob to check out this and that", depending on what "this and that" is...the resulting text is often *just* the last word! And the best part...according to the screen, Siri *did* hear the *complete* sentence.

Check it out:

Public beta. Iphone 6s+

The black wallpaper trick to get the dock also all black no longer works.

Guess something slightly changed

Why would Apple change that? That comes across as borderline "control freak" to me. How dare users want to hide the dock!

I really do despair at Apple at times, some of the things they put their energy into "fixing" compared to what they simply don't bother acknowledging or working on is utterly bemusing.

I really like the whole black home screen on my 7 with the "ninja wallpaper".

Has anyone else seen a bug in Safari (on iPhone) where if you hit the tab button then Done (or the required tab) the toolbar buttons (< > Share Bookmarks Tabs) show up in blue before the tab animation has completed. This causes this to be merged with the tabs options (Private + Done).

If anything some underlying bug relating to shadows or figuring something or other related to wallpapers was fixed or perhaps something was improved and that in turn had the effect of also getting rid of this glitch that allowed for this (since it has been essentially a glitch that was basically having this kind of an effect).

My Apple Watch no longer unlocks when I unlock my phone since installing this beta. And as another has stated, Watch notifications are not consistent. Sometimes they work, other times they only alert on my phone.

Yes and for me Siri won't do simple commands like play an artist in iTunes. I have a 6S plus.

You have to go into the Apple Watch app on your phone and enable the Watch Unlock with your phone. It's a common issue when installing new betas.

They're re-manufactured. The IMEI on them has never been in circulation before but the handset contains a mix of refurbished and brand new parts.

Yeah I figured so, it feels and operates better than my year old phone so I don't mind.
Do you know if the 1 year warranty is "reset" with a replacement? Forgot to ask the genius.

Overall extremely pleased with this beta! So many much needed bug fixes. I have noticed a few bugs, none of which are show stoppers:
  • As others are reporting, Siri is having a lot of trouble with basic commands (reminders, alarms, etc)
  • The feature that keeps Hey Siri from activating on both iPhone and 9.7" iPad Pro at the same time appears to be broken in this build.
  • When quick replying to a text message from the lock screen on iPhone via 3D Touch, the text message box area doesn't expand all the way to the top of the screen. Once you type a message and hit send, the box then expands properly.
  • The white screen issue in Safari after sleep/multitasking (still haven't quite figured out what causes this) is still present.
Battery life also appears to be slightly worse on my 7 compared to 10.1. But it's not a major difference and it's well worth the bug fixes. Overall, this is a great starting point for 10.2 and I look forward to future builds!

I'm noticing that Siri seems to be introducing a bit of inflection to reflect punctuation: a slight pause at a comma and a slight lilting in the last word of a sentence ending in a question mark.
