Anyone having sync issues with mail/contact/calendar accounts?

Second time now since 10.3 last week my gmail contact/calendar have stopped syncing between the phone and Google so nothing I added on the phone or on the web syncs to the other device. Never seen this before ever with iOS.

Yes I noticed this sync issue yesterday with Calendar. I was hoping for b2 today to see if it fixed it.
I already tried deleting my Google account from the phone and re-adding it. Everything syncs after re-adding the account but after that, no new entries sync.

Same results here too, re-add the account it all works for a few hours/days (not sure when it stops).

Didn't see it on the official change log or bugs on the first page here.

That's a big one for me I have no idea what important stuff I put on my phone calendar now that didnt sync to the web and will be lost re-adding the account.

Likely going back down to 10.2.1 as I need my Google to sync for work. Being Thursday tomm Im going to try to wait for Beta 2 Mon or Tues to fix it.

Reported it to apple too through Feedback Assistant. Ridiculous that this was broken now as nothing was touched that should have messed up Google sync. Like back in 2007 with such a basic thing broken!

You have 2 bars of cellular service. Anything under 3 will cause battery drain, lower the service, higher the battery drain. Having 0-1 bars of service will drain a 100% charged iPhone 7Plus to 0% in under 3 hours.
Now that's just false. One dot of service and three hours usage. Only 30% diminished.

It most certainly is not false. It has happened me on many occasions. I work in a very low or no service environment and if I forget to turn on wifi my device is dead within 3 hours.

This has happened on multiple devices of mine. iPhone 5s, 6, 6s and now 7Plus.

so what you mean is it can, not it will, given someone has just shown you it doesn't always.

The screenshot doesn't verify that the entire 10 hours of stand by was in 1 bar of service and no wifi. Only the split second when the screenshot was taken.

If the poster says the above was all true, then I will believe him and agree that it may not impact your battery every time.

Last week my 7Plus was down to 5% with 21 minutes of usage and 2hrs 52 minutes of standby. All because of no/low service. On days that I connect to Wifi, I get 10+ hours of usage and 18+ hours of standby.

It's interesting though, given that even with WiFi enabled the phone would still be connected to cellular service and still use the battery to maintain that signal (short of basically using WiFi while in airplane mode with cellular disabled).

It's using WiFI calling. So I'm fairly confident it disables the cellular communication side and no longer searches for better signal strength. That's what it comes down to. The pone dies quickly cause it's always looking for better signal strength. The low service isn't killing the phone but the search.

Hate to say it but I also currently work in an area with 1 bar/no service and I leave after 8+ hours with 80% battery left on my 6 Plus. I am on decent wifi all day though so maybe that has something to do with it? I haven't experienced major battery drain on low cell signal in years.

Not sure that is how it works. Seems wifi ONLY kicks in if cellular dips low. Brother-in-law has horrible service at his house and I recommended he use WIFI calling. It only works once his signal is almost gone then switches back if signal comes up again. So for that to happen it has to be looking for the cellular signal all the time. He mentioned it doesn't really help a lot for him.

Myself I have good signal at home most of the time and tried wifi calling but it seem'ed to switch back and forth and sometimes couldn't make the switch cleanly. Stopped using it. That was back when if was 1st available tho with Verizon and haven't really tried it lately. But point being it does keep polling for cellular signal and switches back if its a good enough signal.

My AT&T WiFi Calling is pretty much always turned; any time I am under 3 bars its enabled. It typically won't shut off until I am at 4 or 5 bars, and it maintains that single strength for a few minutes. If my WiFi is turned off and I have low service, my battery is gone as I described above. If WiFi calling is enabled and connected, my battery will last all day.

While calls and texts would get routed through WiFi when WiFi calling kicks in, it seems that the cellular signal is still displayed and the strength of the signal still changes meaning that the phone still has a connection to it that it maintains and updates even. Not completely sure what exactly is behind what you are seeing, but I'm not really certain it's just that.

Yes its connected, but I'm fairly confident its not searching for better signal. Its updating as the time goes by, but its not actively searching. I tried researching if there is documentation on it, but can't seem to find anything. But I am certain that is how it works for me, otherwise there would be nothing to explain the difference in my battery life. We are talking 12+ hours of standby and 10+ hours if usage and the only variable is WiFi is on/off.

I have wifi calling and I think the only time I actually used it was on a cruise we went on in December....was actually at sea as I was able to call the kids using it...

But, I can't say I have seen it impact my battery life the way it has seemingly been impacted by the recent betas after 10.1.1

I am trying this....

Enable Airplane Mode, but then enable Wifi, and have wifi calling already enabled....

Testing for impact on battery drain...

I tried calling from my home phone and it went straight to voicemail...

Have to try calling from my cell...

No go.... seems that airplane mode even with wifi and wifi calling enabled doesn't let me make regular phone calls....

That's interesting since CarPlay audio seems to be working just fine. I haven't heard any complaints yet at least.
I use a chord mojo DAC on a lightning to usb camera adapter. It doesn't recognise the DAC it gets no input as audio you can only choose iPhone. on 10.2.1 it functions just fine. I send a report to Apple but it seems they don't care.

C'mon...this beta's been out a week, it is a BETA (and you were warned that things might not work correctly) and this is, at best, a very edge use case. How can you possibly make a statement like that?

Exactly same for me.
