Battery life seems some worse now on b3 than on b2.....

Woke up to a dead battery this morning as I didnt put on charger last night.....

As I charged it, it asked me to enter my apple password to verify..... thats new to me, but others have mentioned it.

I had reported a bug under beta 2 where Messages would crash if I attempted to send a photo from my camera roll or if I took an in-app photo and attempted to send it. Got response from Apple engineer asking if resolved under beta 3. it was.

Helping to make iOS better! In all seriousness, it is satisfying to see them squash stuff. Makes the whole beta program worthwhile.
Make iOS Great Again! :D

Hi there,

Anyone having issues with Wifi Calling on B3? Mine's stopped working :/

iPhone 7 128GB
UK
EE 27.5.4
Wifi calling set to on !

Have tried turning on and off wifi calling, rebooting in between, the option says on but no mention of wifi calling in top left corner nor under carrier...

Okay, after nearly 4 days of testing it, it seems that my Bluetooth audio skipping has been fixed. This was a huge problem for my iPhone 7 since 10.3. All is smooth now when pairing with any of my Bluetooth audio devices. I should mention that I have not tested at all with AirPods.

As a troubleshooting step, set your phone to airplane mode. Then, without toggling off Airplane mode, toggle on Wi-Fi. See if you get it then

Mine is doing the SMS&Data thing. Are you able to place conventional mobile calls? Bad SIM perhaps?

Yeah all calls/data all works fine, I remember another thing oddly the wifi calling went from working ok on 27.5.3 / B2 to then not working a few days before B3 was released.

It's not a big problem, but I just find it odd that mine had stopped working.

Also my 3Mobile (iPhone 6) wifi calling stopped working when I went onto B2 from standard 10.2.1

This may have already been apparent in the previous betas, but apps load faster. In particular, my iPhone 7 now loads all my apps quicker then the 6s (which used to load some apps quicker since the A9 is faster than the high efficiency cores)
So both your iPhone 7 and 6s are running iOS 10.3 B3 and iPhone 7 recieved a speed boost but the 6s didn't?

Over the years, I've experienced an issue where sometimes, when removing my phone from the charger in the morning, the battery was not charged to 100%. Most mornings, it was charged to 100%, but when it wasn't it was always in the rage of 97-99%. Through research, I discovered that this was completely normal, given the way the iPhone charging works.

Since loading the 10.3 betas, this issue is back with a vengeance. At least two times per week, when I take my phone off the charger, it's not charged to 100%... and it's been as low as 78% ... this morning, it was at 83%. Sticking it back on the charger for a few minutes (5-20) seems to ge the battery up to 100%.

I've submitted a bug report. but wonder if anyone else has seen this...

Based on historical experience I don't think this has anything to do with iOS 10.3 beta; you likely have a problem with your battery or charger.

What had you read saying a drop to even 99 was ok?

My understanding is: Yes, it's true that once the battery is fully charged it stops, allows the battery to run down a little, and then charge again, but this is all at levels above '100%'. Think of battery capacity as actually 105% and Apple hide this from us. This topping up process is happening between 101-105. I've never seen my iPhones drop down from 100 while charging. Your battery or charger seems busted to me

Second that. The internal battery level may be dropping and then slowly charging again, but the way the software works means the levels should always show 100% when this process happens. By no means should the indicator in the software be used to gauge the actual battery level, and is only an estimation based on the software.

I'm not so sure about the 105% thing. From my knowledge the battery indicator works on a bell curve. Meaning, at the two opposite ends (100 and 1) draining takes the "longest". This is why your battery hangs around 90-100 for so long but then speeds up its drain around 50.

This gives the placebo that your battery lasts longer, hence why Apple implemented it.

There is a annoying thing on the photos app in 10.2.1, could someone tell me if it has been fixed in 10.3?
In any album, 3D-touching any photo on landscape will result in a fine "peek", but a "pop" of a different photo, often times displaying two half photos, as in the middle of transition between adjacent pics

Plugged iPad Air 2 in and ran out to complete errand. Came back and I heard iPad beep like plugging in to charge. It rebooted to Apple screen. This happened in prior beta. Reported it. Anyone experiencing this issue? Thanks.

Do people feel like this is close to the final release? Is it stable enough to be on your daily device (with some minor, final tweaks) or do you feel that there is still some work that needs to be done?
Definitely still some work to be done. I think beta 1 was more stable than beta 3 actually. Its ok but there are a few annoying quirks. Beta 1 was awesome though.

I have taken to charging in Airplane Mode as it charges much faster....

The AirPods have not skipped once for me on this version. It's looking good!

I have seen that the notification sounds to new mails mostly do not come.
Even when they come, it is after a significant delay after the receipt of the mail on the phone.
My question is:
1. Whether the notification sound is expected to come for all new mails received either in Inbox or one of the Favorited folders?
2. Whether there should be any delay in getting the notification sound.
