We should have a thread for never shipped or discontinued apps and features. It would be like the Land of Misfit Toys! Dark mode, Notifications grouped by app, all sorts of them!
It's a good idea for removed things (not so much for those than never really were to be there to begin with, as that's just a wishlist basically and not much more).

Is it possible to add your own images to make as stickers? I'm not a fan of some of the new emojis and while I can accept they've changed there are some I use as inside jokes and the new ones really don't work as well. If I can make images of the old ones as stickers then would be more than good. Any ideas?

Travel Time in Calendar now allows you to choose transit.

It's also smart enough to offer walking travel time if it's close by.

I don't see that option. I'm in a city with Apple maps transit. All I get is fixed options of minutes in travel time. What am I missing ?

EDIT. Sorry. Need to add destination first. Oops

My biggest complaint is notifications not grouped by app. I sure hope this is changed and probably won't use notifications much anymore, it WAS one of my favorite features. Already sent in suggestion to correct.

Previously it was a single 3d touch operation for calling someone in favorites. Now I have to 3D press then touch the fav. person again. That's a backward step

Does know how to add a FaceTime audio call to favorites in the phone app? I was able to do that before, all I can do now in favorites in add FaceTime video, which is not what I want.

Now here's a "little thing" one of my coworkers found yesterday after installing. In Mail, if you typically file emails into a folder, iOS will intelligently "know" which folder you are likely to want to file in and ask if you want to move it there. Not sure yet if this is triggered by sender, subject or text, or some combination thereof. Blew him away, though. Cut back the number of steps to file a document away. This was using an Exchange account, too.

Currently using an iPhone 6 Plus and am not able to see animated messages when holding down on the send key in iMessage. Anyone have a way for this to work? On the website it says either 3D Touch or hold down.

Ok I didn't see anything like this so I apologize if it has been mentioned and answered. Yesterday I was texting using iMessage and when the person I was texting responded the little typing indicator looked different, but then the next time was back to normal. Has anyone noticed this? If so why did it look different?

Hi! I second this question....this was a much used feature, being able to choose if I can call o facetime call or facetime a person. Now the favourites widget will only allow me to make phone calls. No 3D touch either....is there any way other than going to the Facetime app??

Thanks!

You can still do this.

Go to "Favorites" and hit "+".
Select the Contact you want to add.
Touch the downarrow next to "Call"
This will give you the option to select "Facetime" audio (or any alternative phone numbers for the Contact).

This worked. Thanks so much. I didn't even try looking under the pull down for 'Call', I was looking under FaceTime Video pull down and the option wasn't there.

I have an option to "Keep" digital touch messages right after I send and receive them, on my 6s+. My gf, on her 6, doesn't have a "Keep" option. What gives?

I didn't see this feature on the list on Page 1:

In the Music App, you can once again Shuffle a Genre.

This feature has come and gone a number of times with changing OS, and now it's back. I suggest you don't become enamored of it.

Anyone having issues with notifications not opening when pressed?

I have a 6S and SOME of my Twitter and News notifications aren't opening when I press on them when other notifications from Twitter are.. Very odd.

Sorry but this doesn't really solve it....here you can select the favourite method to reach that contact, but previously we had the ability to decide each time we wanted to call if we wanted to do it by phone or by facetime audio. This was done by simply swiping left to the "minus one" screen, touch the contact, which would open a menu of contact methods, and select how we wanted to interact with that contact, wither video facteime, audio facetime, phone call or send a message....

This was convenient because when im on the street i would use phone call, whereas at home I would use facetime audio...

You can still do this.

Go to "Favorites" and hit "+".
Select the Contact you want to add.
Touch the downarrow next to "Call"
This will give you the option to select "Facetime" audio (or any alternative phone numbers for the Contact).

iMessage Low Quality Image Mode.

Thank goodness. I'm not sending a 20MB picasso picture to be printed, its usually something goofy anyone in the iMessage group will forget about 1 hour later.

Settings > Messages > Low Quality Image Mode

pics send WAY quicker as well.

Apologies if this was discussed and I missed it, still can't see seem to find a way to be able to see the the usual time to my next destination in the today widget like I use to.

I did add up next and map destinations widgets but the map widget just shows me where the car is parked.

Thanks

In iOS 9 I could delete emails from the notification center itself (I'm not referring to a banner email notice, where you pull it down and can trash it). I'm referring to the static notification center itself -- now if I swipe left on mail in the notification center, the options are "view" or "clear". If I swipe right, it opens the message. What happened to trash? Am I missing a setting or is this intended in iOS 10? It seems you should be able to not just clear, but actually delete the message, so you don't have to open the mail app.

Can someone help?

If you proceed to click "View" you should see the option to delete that email. This is a workaround for non-3D touch devices (such as my very own 5S). With 3D touch, you can simply push the notification and get those quick actions available to you without the extra swipe and touch.
