Can somebody on the 6s or 6s+ check if the 3d touch trackpad is much better, currently you have to let it blink for the feature to work

It is very much improved actually works I believe the way it was intended. You don't really have to let it blink to move again but there is a slight delay to move it again.

The 'raise to wake" feature does not work with iPhone 6.
I think this has something to do with the difference between the M7/M8 and M9 coprocessor. Since the M9 is actually embedded into the A9-chip it is able to be on all the time. M7 and M8 are used only when necessary (say you're running a fitness app in the background).

Just my thought on it.

Awful OS update. Awful. Actually considering Android now, and that's coming from an Apple fanboy.

Maps, Siri, Photos, copy/paste - don't care for any of it. Where's the dark mode, the customisable control centre, the ability to customise the home screen etc?
I see you love jumping to conclusions without thinking or even giving a chance. Customizable home screen will never exist, especially not with a "widget center" as I like to call it, in the far left panel on the home screen. I for one don't won't widgets in-between apps because in iOS and Android it looks like a mess, and I really don't care to put icons wherever I want because then it would look even more messy and unorganized. Right now my home screen is as organized as it's ever been and having widgets is great, but having them out of the way in its own panel is ten times better.

A customizable control center isn't really something I care about. When I was jailbroken in the past with tweaks to do so, I literally never used the toggles and app shortcuts. Since I own this device, it's organized, and I know where everything is, app shortcuts in control center is really something I overlook. As for toggles, I use all the default ones, so I don't care. You also have to note that there isn't really anything else to put in the control center, so who cares.

Dark mode is something I wouldn't really use unless my eyes are really really stressed, I had Eclipse a while back, never used it so... Night shift already does a fantastic job at relieving stress on my eyes at light.

I just can't believe that you really freaked out over something that you probably haven't even used yet. I've used it for two days now and I can't go back to 9 because 10 is so nice to use. When I was on 9 I always ignored it and used another device I have on 6, because the experience on 6 was better and the speed was better. Now 10 is faster than 6 with certain things, and for me and the experience has vastly improved to make me use it more and enjoy it. I'm my eyes Apple nailed it, and I'm not the only one that believes that too.

Has anyone figured out how to do side by side safari windows on an iPad?

You either press/hold on a link to get the menu popUp where you will find a new option called something like ""Open in splitView"
Alternatively you can grab a tab in safari and drag it all the way to the right side and it should snap into splitMode as well.

For those if you not on a 6s/6s+, how much does the lack of 3D Touch impair the overall experience? So many new features presented in Monday seem to require it. What are the workarounds/alternatives?

It varies. You need to review this on a case by case base.
My impression is it is good. No significant performance drop on large group of apps.

Uninstalling stock apps only hides them.

Evidence: "redownloading" a deleted stock app from the App Store is instant.

When paired with a hardware/bluetooth keyboard, you can turn off auto-capitilization and correction for the hardware keyboard. They also finally enabled indented bullets using the tab key when using an external keyboard (finally).
