Went back to iOS 9.3. Besides the obvious performance issues of a first beta, I found the new iOS to provide a worse experience in terms of intuition and aesthetic design that Apple is known for. The new iOS is ugly, convoluted, and awkward to use. Did not improve my experience in any way and in fact in many ways worsened it. Really puzzled by this release. Hoping things change significantly in the next few betas

Everything seems bolder, rounder and bigger, not a big fan :(

I have a feeling that a lot of the reason that everywhere around the OS is kinda like an indication that maybe the new iPhone will have a higher resolution? I mean I might be wrong but its a thought. Just like how now iOS 10 is allowing and can take RAW files for pictures, to me that means that the new camera on the iPhone 7 will be a great upgrade.

I have a good feeling that dark mode is coming in the near future

So the link I have then doesn't actually have the watch profile even though it says it does. Awesome. Can someone message me a link or something?
You don't need to install it on both devices. The watchOS profile on the watch and the iOS profile on the iPhone. They are 2 separate files for each platform.

I think the Clock app is dark because most of the time you will be changing or adding an alarm in bed when the lights are out already.

Aside from the bugs listed in the original thread, is anyone else experiencing issues when sending the new messages to others on iOS 9? If I send texts but use the "slam, large, small" bubbles, those texts don't actually send. It shows as sent, but the recipient not running iOS 10 will not get them.

Yes, it is only for communication between two devices running iOS 10. It does not work if you send to someone running iOS 9 or earlier.

6S+ was on for 10 hours. Died with ~6% remaining....I usually drag it down to 1% then pump the flashlight on and run movies until it dies. Curious to know if anyone has done a full battery drain on their device yet? Did it die around the same percentage? Wondering if the behavior is different or if the battery meter is just out of whack.

**EDIT**
Well....after showing me the red connect icon on the lockscreen after it shut off...it was able to turn back on to the lockscreen with 6% showing. It died instantly when I tried the touch ID. It still booted up a third time and same thing happened.

Anyone know if I can revert back to iOS 9.3.1 and my WatchOS 3 watch will still be able to connect

So far this is so much better than any previous iOS beta I've ever tried... I've tried iOS 4, iOS 7, iOS 8 and iOS 9. From iOS 7 it's where things started to go really bad...

At this point here is what I like/dislike :
- Hate : The new Music app... can Eddy Cue ever do something right ?
- Like : The new Maps app... ok, gotta admit, good job Eddy. But I'm unable to setup favorite directions to make them appear in widgets
- Hate : The new News app... can Eddy Cue ever do something right ? (the categories make me scroll so much than ever before to see everything I've subscribed to)
- Meh : Those new notification bubbles GUI
- Like : All those new developer APIs... yummy.
- Like : SiriKit... FINALLY.
- Hate : Still the same Springboard. No integrated widgets, no nothing.
- Hate : No Dark Mode.
- All the rest looks okay, but from a user point of view, this update is a little underwhelming.

Please report bugs to bugreport.apple.com (a developer account is not required to do this).

Please post bugs, changes, etc. in appropriate categories and subsections of this post.

iOS 10 Beta 1

Build: 14A5261v

Bugs:

  • Using Force Touch to respond to a text message from the Lock screen sometimes results in a text reply window that cannot be closed with the Home button or the UI element. You need to reboot the phone to recover
  • Certain widgets are cut off in the new Spotlight/today view
  • When plugged into my car via USB Siri speaks no matter what in Maps while driving despite "No Voice" being selected
  • Large Music Controls on Lock screen (may be an unfortunate feature)
  • iPad Air 2: Rotating Lock screen from portrait to landscape yields a misplaced clock
  • Screenshots on lockscreen broken - device turns off, no screenshot in Photos
  • Apple Music features are not able to be hidden. Toggling the "Show Apple Music" setting currently has no effect on the redesigned Music app
  • Alarms remain on the lock screen as "Snoozing" with a minus amount of time once they have been stopped
  • When trying to reply on some posts in Safari (even here) - Safari will jump to the bottom of the page and you cannot see what you're typing
  • Build in HOME app does not support well EVE and August accessories
  • No Today widget. No way to see the current date. (You can actually see the date if you go to Widgets from the lock screen, or you can use one of the Calendar widgets which show a live date in the icon)
  • When choosing an alarm in Clock app for Bedtime Mode, that sample alarm will sound until you force close the app
  • Turning off Keyboard sounds also turns off Taptic feedback for the Mute switch
Changes:
  • Notification Center
    • Tapping Search is the same as Spotlight
    • Recent Searches in Notification Center
    • Sort by App option removed
  • Spotlight
    • Spotlight entries are rounded
    • Spotlight keyboard has locked orientation. No flip animation.
    • New built-in widgets (via 9to5mac)
      • Calendar
        • Up Next
      • Phone
        • Favorites
      • Mail
      • Maps
        • Maps Destinations
        • Maps Nearby
        • Maps Transit
      • Music
      • Notes
      • Photos
        • Memories
      • Tips
  • Siri
    • New Siri icon in Settings
    • New Siri Tab in Settings
    • Voice seems to be more clear
  • Messages
    • New name initial icons
    • Individual read receipts
    • Emoji predictions
    • Text-to-emoji replacement
    • Bubble effects (animations for message bubbles)
    • Link thumbnails/previews

  • Maps
    • On the Today screen, the Maps widget now notes when and where you parked your car.
    • When reporting "location on map" errors you're able to use current location to find where you're at—there is now a crosshair selector to place on building/house for corrected location
  • Mail
  • Calendar
    • Invite attendees to any meeting (forward invite)
Performance (Lag & Stutter areas):
  • Favorites list in Phone app is not smooth. Opening Phone app while favorites is selected drops frames.
  • Mobile data menu is smooth now
Bug Fixes:
  • Text selection bug seems to be fixed

Please refrain from posting "Downloading" and lets keep on topic discussing the changes in this beta. Also please refrain from posting just "lag" and "stutter" in this beta as it is in its very early stage. [/QUO

I can't seem to sign into Apple for some reason but is anyone else having problems with Siri? No matter
what voice I choose it sounds super artificial and fake like a voice control on an android

Just tried updating my health app "emergency contact info", and there's some sort of error with the "next" text/button, it displays OG_next. Anyone else?

Well, for me this is the first time the beta has been unusable. I can't even launch messages and I have frequent freezes unlocking with TouchID (iPhone 6S 128gb). I've been trying for 20 minutes to be able to do a settings reset. Hopefully that does the trick.

Edit: Resetting settings worked for me.

Can someone help me? Running ios10 and downloaded the watch os3 profile but it keeps saying my software is up to date on the watch...?

Short version: You have to wipe and pair AW again after the iOS upgrade

Long version:

Here's the steps. Join at whatever point is appropriate for you (i.e. if you've already upgraded to iOS 10 don't try to do so again)

1) Upgrade to iOS 10
2) Reset Apple Watch
3) Pair Apple Watch and do not restore backup (and I'll be honest about my shortcomings here and say I have not tried restoring, but I don't expect it be successful. If you restore and the instructions still work please let the community know :))
4) Install WatchOS 3 Beta Profile to watch. Installing to iPhone does no harm but it does no good either
5) Check for Software Update and install WatchOS 3 Beta
6) Enjoy. But it ff it breaks you get to keep both halves ;)

Hope this helps

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!

I am a developer so I do this every year.

Bugs do not bother me. This year it broke my phone.

After going to iOS10 and using for 1 day, my phone always thinks headphones are plugged :(

I downgraded back to ios 9.3.2 .. SAME THING!!!!

Speakerphone on calls work fine.

Seems like iOS10 messed up the sound driver or something...

Not pleased with Apple at all.

BTW I have an iPhone 6s Plus

Bug: when I try to reply to a notification using 3D Touch on the banner, the keyboard appears, but not the field for the message to be typed in. Therefore I can write the message, but can't see what I've written or send it
